Pressured to Respond

Something is amiss. The nice, pleasant, and respectable image of Veteran Actress (VA) is not really how she is in her home. When helpers are hired in her home, excitement prevails as not everyone can have the privilege to work in a celebrity’s, like VA, home. VA belongs to the elite group of actresses who are blessed with a long career and love from the industry and fans. However, Household Help (HH) realized that dream was a nightmare.
VA has a major rule in her huge home, that is, everything must be free of dust. Thus, every waking moment, the helpers are cleaning, polishing, and following orders. For example, VA wakes up early in the morning and demands that the home is spotless before she leaves for her taping. While on the set, she calls her helpers to give more instructions. The helpers are few and the home is huge, which could explain why they are physically tired. Additional pressure comes from the tension whenever VA gets into her obsession for cleanliness mood.
One day, VA came home to see that a picture frame of her beloved husband was accidentally broken during the cleaning. HH was then called and severely reprimanded. VA threw the broken frame on the floor toward HH, and splinters hit the leg of HH.
HH did not relent and took the matter to the barangay, who then called VA. In her defense, VA claimed that HH was lazy and hard-headed. She had to defend herself, of course. Then, VA was once again called by the barangay and informed her that HH had gone to the police station to have the case reported in the blotter. HH was determined to file a case against VA and refused to reconcile.
Amiable Daughter (AD) had to step in and talked to VA and HH. Patiently, AD told them that their actions hurt her most and her plans. This time, she does need a scandal to tarnish the family name. Worse, VA’s reputation would be ruined as well. AD then allegedly offered HH compensation she could not refuse. The amount was huge and the pledge to have the home of HH in the province repaired was overwhelming for HH.
After negotiations, all records of the barangay and the police were erased to prevent the press from getting wind of the incident.
