Don’t Say Marriage

“Hysterical” is an understatement in describing the reaction of Showbiz Kin (SK) when she heard the plans of Versatile Performer (VP). After VP went on a quick overseas trip with Handsome Beau (HB), she shared her realizations with SK. The reaction of SK was not surprising, by the way.
Over the years, VP’s affairs have been controlled by the emotional reactions of SK and such has prevented VP from fully pursuing the path of her heart. Lucky for her, HB came at the right place and at the right time to win her over. Unlike her previous relationships, HB showed something that her previous boyfriends did not. HB asserted his love and, in the process, he incurred the ire of SK.
Thinking perhaps that HB would not last, SK started to worry when she realized that he was not showing signs of leaving VP. In fact, VP even fell for him more because he stood his ground and his family adores her so much.
When VP told SK that HB is the person she wants to settle down and spend the rest of her life with, SK started lambasting her and telling her to wait for a few more years to make sure of her feelings. SK even accused her of being a flirt and feeling like she would run out of men. VP, being used to fiery words, did not budge. After all, she would almost be middle-age if she follows the command of SK and she knows she runs the risk of losing the man she truly loves.
Showing her wrath, SK refused the invitation of VP to perform in the overseas leg of a flagship show. VP would have had a duet with Controversial Singer (CS) in that side of the world. Of course, VP has been looking forward to performing with CS, but that did not sway SK’s decision. SK knew that HB would be there as well, which was a major consideration why she did not allow VP to leave.
That’s not all. Other than the hysterical reaction to the desire of VP to settle down with HB, SK sent a scathing message to HB. The message allegedly accused him of taking advantage of their kindness and told him not to show his face to VP. SK blames him for VP rebelling against her wishes. Naturally, HB showed the message to VP, which made her very disappointed and lethargic toward work.
Although HB and VP were seen together recently, this event was official and thus, the two had the opportunity to be with each other. As to whether VP will continue to lack zest for work as a result of SK trying to douse her relationship with HB remains to be seen. For now, VP has realized that she has to really fight for her love for HB.

Stan Lee, the man responsible for much of the Marvel Universe, has died ... Stan's daughter tells TMZ.
We're told an ambulance rushed to Lee's Hollywood Hills home early Monday morning and he was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. We're told that's where he died.
Lee had suffered several illnesses over the last year or so -- he had a bout of pneumonia and vision issues.
Stan started Marvel with Jack Kirby in 1961 with The Fantastic Four. He went on to create Spider-Man, Black Panther, The Incredible Hulk, X-Men, Iron Man and The Avengers.
Stan made cameo appearances in many of the Marvel movies.
Lee had a rocky relationship with Marvel once the company went full-tilt Hollywood. He sued the company in 2002 for royalties he said he was owed for the first "Spider-Man" movie. Three years later he settled the case for $10 million.
"Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse" is the latest installment of the film's franchise and will be released next month.
Lee is survived by his daughter, J.C. His wife of 69 years, Joan, died in 2017.
J.C. tells TMZ, "My father loved all of his fans. He was the greatest, most decent man."
Lee was 95.

Ria Atayde is admittedly still at a learning curve when it comes to grappling with — or detaching from — “bashers,” amid rumors that have made her brother, fellow actor Arjo Atayde, a target of criticisms.
The 26-year-old “Halik” actress, who followed her brother and mother Sylvia Sanchez’s footsteps in 2015, said she had mistakenly thought she would be prepared for that challenging aspect of a career in the limelight.
“We’re all learning, actually. It’s weird, it’s different. I don’t think anything can prepare you for it… It really does something to you emotionally,” she said.
Ria spoke with ABS-CBN News Sunday on the sidelines of the shooting of “Family is Love,” the media giant’s Christmas station ID set to premiere on November 18.
Quite aptly wearing a shirt printed with the title, Ria was an image of a protective sister, as she tiptoed between addressing the “pretty heavy” stream of “bashing” directed at Arjo, and keeping private what’s for her brother to share, by himself, at the right time.
In recent weeks, Arjo has been rumored to be romantically involved with actress-host Maine Mendoza, with viral photos of the two talents from rival networks placing them together at restaurants, an upscale bar, and a concert, among others.
Mendoza is half of the popular “AlDub” tandem with actor Alden Richards. The onscreen pairing, which catapulted then-newcomer Mendoza as a breakout star in 2015, has amassed a fiercely loyal fanbase that has notable presence on social media.
Some fans have been welcoming of Mendoza and Richards having respective relationships in real life, but the sentiment doesn’t appear to be widely shared, going by the “bashing” targeted at Arjo.
In a tweet in late October seen by fans as Ria’s response to her brother’s critics, the actress wrote: “If a guy and girl are both single, they should be able to date whoever they want. And a genuine sign of support is if you let them, if you accept it and if you become happy for them even if they don’t go for the person you’re rooting for. Just my two cents.”
Arjo, meanwhile, has yet to address the speculation surrounding his relationship with Mendoza. While aware of the adverse reactions to the rumor, Arjo has managed to remain unaffected, according to Ria.
“What I admire about my brother… Sometimes ako, I’m more, like, ‘Oh my god, I want to reply already,’” she told ABS-CBN News on Sunday. “And he says, ‘You know what, Ria, don’t mind them. We know the truth, we know what’s going on, we don’t have to give them that much.’”
Arjo’s stance in spite of the situation is something Ria hopes to emulate, she said.
“I have to be strong… Because I care so much. I always overthink. I always overanalyze, that’s why I’m always so affected. Him naman, he’s very care-free,” she explained.
Short of confirming Arjo’s status, Ria went on: “I think he’s handling everything very well. He’s happy naman with everything. I guess that’s all I can say — he’s happy. He’s at a point where he’s happy and I’m really happy to see him happy.
“That’s all I can share! He will share someday. That’s for him. I keep telling him, when he’s ready, he should be the one also.”

Relocating or Not

Female Celebrity (FC) seems to be feeling impatient these days, as she realized that she and Loveteam Partner (LP) have not been informed if they will soon have a major project together. Moreover, FC confided she feels the network is lukewarm towards them and during corporate events, she feels being treated like an outcast.
Subsequently, her Management Team (MT) spoke with Network Insiders (NI) to ask about the future plans for FC and LP. NI informed MT that the creatives are developing a project for the two, but for now, nothing is concrete. Hence, fans will have to wait longer to see FC and LP on primetime again.
During the conversation, NI denied that FC and LP are not welcome to be with the other talents of the network. In fact, celebrities under their team are well-liked by the homegrown talents and the production team likes to work with them. By contrast, FC and LP are the ones behaving like they do not belong and bordering on unprofessionalism.
Hence, the feelings of being unwelcomed of FC are baseless. NI pointed out that the attitude of the two toward work has affected the way the two are preferred by the production teams. Allegedly, the production teams do not want to work with FC and LP, as the two have caused delays that have resulted in losses for the team. For example, the two would just not show up for taping and the production team would find out the two are already on vacation. Moreover, personal problems are sometimes brought to the set and the taping mood gets affected as well.
In addition, NI stressed that the station had given all chances for FC and LP to shape up. Even if their projects performed below expectations, the management still gave them opportunities to shine. However, even if the project was good, the off-screen attitude of the two can affect the way viewers watch.
As the talks progressed, MT realized that the future of FC and LP seem to be muddled at that point. Hence, they broached the idea of exploring other options if the two can no longer wait for the plan of NI. Incidentally, the contracts of the two with the network are about to expire. In response, NI remained quiet, which seemed to send the signal that FC and LP can do whatever they please. If a network transfer is in their plan, then so be it.

Making A Way

“Be careful with what you wish for,” is a cliché that could describe many lives of celebrities who never thought they would be able to achieve much in a relatively short period. While many talents are still looking for the formula to achieve fame and fortune, Lucky Girl (LG) was blessed with something that no books could ever taught. LG had timing, as she was in the proper place and time, and soon, everything changed and she got her wish but the price was high.
One day, LG realized that her heart had taken so much bruising, as fans refused to let her be even behind the cameras. Her fans have become very aggressive in declaring who they want for and they would use all the powers of social media to make sure they express their demands. LG could only take so much and she confide to a showbiz Close Friend (CF) that she has gone tired of fans dictating whom she ought to love. CF could only listen.
When rumors became loud that LG was close with Funny Actor (FA), the fans started their demolition job and even involved the family of FA. LG was in love with FA, but he had to choose between her and his family, who had advised him to do what was right. Then, came Muscled Actor (MA), but he too had to choose his career over LG, as fans threatened to boycott his projects with the network. Next came Showbiz Scion (SS), who was highly educated and well-mannered. However, he would rather protect his child from the bashing of the fans of LG, and thus, nothing happened to them. Then, Network Talent (NT) tried his luck. NT and LG hit it off, but they could not be seen in public, as the fans were going berserk every time they were spotted together. Threats to NT became daily fare and he, too, was defeated.
With fans meddling in her personal affairs, LG has had enough. This time, LG found Ideal Man (IM). IM comes from a respected showbiz family and is known as a very kind and mild-mannered individual. He’s a gentleman and keeps a low profile. Competent in his field, IM also has his fans and a very supportive family and network. LG seems to have found the right guy and this time, she has decided to ignore her meddling fans and give IM a chance. Besides, IM does not care about what the fans say, as he seems to be fond of LG as well.
LG wants to make herself happy and for fans to accept that she and Reel Partner (RP) will never become real, as he’s really not into her romantically. No amount of pressure coming from their fans would make him fall for her, and LG has accepted that fact. Will IM be the one for LG this time or will fan pressure break whatever relationship the two are building?
