Grandparent’s Day is the best time for grandkids to make new memories with their lolos and lolas who spoil them undying love, patience, and support. This September, SM Supermalls offers a fun-filled Grandparents’ Day celebration where families can pamper grandparents with special wellness offers, dining deals, and gift promos from August 26 to September 9!

Here are fun tips on how you can spend time with your lola and lolo this Grandparents’ Day:

1. Treat them with their favorite dish. Grandkids can delight grandparents with Grand Treats – favorite eats and dishes from participating restaurants in SM malls from August 26 to September 9.

2. Accompany them to mass. Praying or going to mass together is one of best bonding moments between lolo and lolas and their apos. Grandparents and grandkids can attend a mass celebration with a Special Blessing for grandparents on September 9.

3. Create new and exciting memories. Lolos and lolas can take snaps with families at the Grandparents’ Snaps augmented reality family booth on August 26 to September 9, where they can enjoy fun technology and keep these wonderful memories with their loved ones forever.

4. Enjoy a concert. Grandkids can bring their grandparents to watch heart-tugging performances by talented apos at SM’s Grandparents’ Playlist event on September 8 and 9.

5. Get them some gifts. Whether it’s arts and crafts or comfortable slippers, grandkids can shop for heartfelt, handmade gifts at participating stores and SM Cares partners at the Lolo & Lola’s Bazaar happening on September 9.

Patronizing Attitude

Whenever celebrities grace a special occasion in a town far away from the capital, some behave differently from the image they project in public. Away from the press and nosy cityfolk, celebrities would show their personality or the side that they think is apt for the audience.

During a town celebration, Known Celebrity (KC) and His Wife (HW) were invited to grace the occasion. Unknown to them, the people in the crowd comprised people coming from the town and from other places. Although KC and HW would often shuttle from this town to the capital, the event was an opportunity to observe the couple up close and personal. Whenever they are in the capital, they are usually with security and are hard to watch.

As the people gravitated to the couple, others noticed the difference in their behavior. Although he is the bigger celebrity, KC took time to pose with the crowd, do small talk, and make the people feel he was with them. KC was charismatic in dealing with people and impressing most of the crowd. By contrast, HW gave a different stance. She was aloof and hardly smiled at the crowd. She was physically present, but some people in the crowd felt she seemed bored and wanted to leave. She did not even make any eye contact with the audience. Worse, she made people feel how small they were with her attitude.

The couple’s humble beginnings moved KC and HW to work hard to achieve whatever they owned now. From being known simply as KC’s partner, HW was noticed and she eventually became a celebrity in her own right. With money coming in, HW started to dress in fashion and even developed a taste for high-end European bags.

As KC worked the crowd, HW made her presence felt by her negative attitude throughout the event.
