Just Deliver

Sometime ago, Influential Handler (IH) warned Award-winning Celebrity (AC) of the possibility of his career dropping to rock bottom. AC used to take such warnings seriously and followed every request of IH in his career and even in his heart choices. However, times are cruel and one cannot have both career and love. As AC found The Love (TL) of his life, he slowly turned a deaf ear at IH’s warnings.
Even if AC remains one of the most important personalities in his network, his projects have not been rating well not have critics praised his performances. While age can be a reason as to why AC cannot find success, IH has a different reason. AC is too much in love with TL to the point that he is slowly neglecting his career.
Meanwhile, TL seems to be in a similar boat. As a highly-valued star of her network, TL has always had high profile projects that made her fans excited. TL has a solid following when it comes to her big screen work with fans and critics, but such does not automatically translate to achieving in the little screen. Parallel to the career of AC, TL seems to be jinxed. Her last project was a big disappointment despite the fresh plot, effects, and cast.
Given the performances of their projects, AC and TL were advised to take some time to rethink the direction of their careers. If they must reinvent their image, they could do so as long as they bring back the interest of viewers. Even if they are given the best directors, script, and resources, without loyal viewers, their effort would just go to waste.
As IH told AC the possible effects of his dismal projects, AC seems to be less worried these days compared to a few years ago. At that time, everything that had to do with his matters of the heart would have to be approved by IH. With TL, things changed and IH could not do much. IH had to tell AC that his career would be worse if he decides to marry TL. However, he is too much in love and the only thing that their fans are waiting for is the day when he proposes to TL.

Don’t Be Pushy

Sometimes, one receives a jolt of reality that shatters all illusions. Eager Newbie (EN) has made sure that she would keep abreast with her contemporaries even if observers already know she would never be able to reach them. Nonetheless, EN would not believe that she would remain a poor second and whatever her contemporaries receive, she has to be a recipient as well.
One time, an overseas producer wanted to bring a network show abroad. As this trip was going to be added exposure, the production agreed to the terms. However, the producer had one request, that is, only talents who have a strong following outside the country should be allowed to go. Of course, talent was assumed, as the celebrities would perform in front of thousands of Filipinos living in the area.
When EN learned that the show would be brought abroad, she immediately assumed she would be part of the team. Coincidentally, EN was in the area when the production team was formulating the entourage. EN waited to be informed, but people merely passed in front of her. When EN asked if she were included, someone said that she might have just been skipped.
Finally, the list of talents was released and EN noticed her name was not there. Only Hot Lad (HL) and His Partner (HP) were included among EN’s contemporaries. No list could stop EN, and she asked a Production Head (PH) why she was not in the list. Too bad, PH was not in a good mood that day. EN asked and she did not expect the bluntness in the reply of PH. Without mincing words, PH told EN in her face that only talents who are famous and have a strong overseas following were considered. At this point, EN cannot claim both criteria yet.
The reply of PH was too much for EN, who then walked out even though she still had a meeting scheduled later.

At a very young age, Filipino-American Clark Kent Apuada is already living up to his name.
Ten-year old Apuada broke a 23-year old record previously held by Michael Phelps when the former competed in the 10-and-under age group of the Far West International Championship in California.
The aptly-nicknamed 'Superman', who swims for the Monterey County Aquatic Team, clocked in at 1:09:38 in the 100-meter freestyle, more than a second faster than the 1:10.48 set by the American sporting legend in 1995.
The Filipino-American elementary school pupil went on to win six more events in the duration of the meet.
Phelps eventually went on to win 28 Olympic medals, 23 of them gold in the course of five Olympic Games.
It's never too early to dream as the 10-year old has already set his sights for the Olympic Games, hoping to be one of the best someday.
Apuada started swimming at four but had just been into competitive swimming since he was six.
"I love swimming because I have a lot of people supporting me and my coaches are always there for me and my parents are always there," Clark said in a story posted on CNN.
Dia Rianda, Clark's coach, said in the same article: "This kid is unlike any other young man that I've ever coached. He's always stood out, he's just, he's kind of a savant of sorts."
Cynthia Apuada, the boy's mother, said in a story posted on Huffington Post that she was drawn to the name Clark and that her husband's favorite superhero is Superman. That's how the young Apuada's name came to be.
“We’re always just telling people his name is Clark,” Cynthia said. “But when they realize his full name, people just call him Superman.”
