So Close
The stereotypical reaction is that boys are much better handling breakups than girls, and that they could move on easily. People simply think that makes can just divert their attention and everything will be okay. Well, when the relationship of Male Personality (MP) and Accepted Celebrity (AC) was over, fans thought everything would be fine and both could quickly move on.
When MP and AC revealed their relationship, many sighed as the two were among the most sought after single personalities in the industry. Although both have diverse paths, they hit it off quite well and their admission gained more followers because they did not attempt to hide anything. After the usual condemnation from close-minded people, MP and AC were lauded for their honesty. As soon as the excitement died down, the two went on with their lives.
Although the two were supportive of each other, MP had to make career decisions that had an impact on their relationship. However, many were looking and hoping that they would make a long-distance relationship work. After many months, things seemed okay and going well. Then one day, it was over, the LDR was no more. Not only were their hearts broken, many of their followers were disappointed as well.
Rumors have it that MP had hoped for a reconciliation and that they would be able to talk things out. That was not the case, as social media became the tool to reveal quietly that AC has a New Relationship (NR). The story had ended. Nonetheless, hopes were high that they had a good breakup.
As their world is not that big, a huge coincidence it was that MP, AC, and NR were spotted at the same bar at the same time. However, no confrontation happened. AC and NR were having fun with friends and were even quite sweet with each other. While such scene might make a former lover ballistic, MP was too drunk to even notice that something was happening. It did give the impression that all might not be well after their breakup.

Repost: Bong Go Says Mocha Uson to Apologize to Kris Aquino

Communications Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson will apologize to actress Kris Aquino who slammed the Palace official for dragging her late father into the controversy involving President Rodrigo Duterte’s kiss to a Filipino woman in South Korea.
Special Assistant to the President Christopher “Bong” Go made the statement on Wednesday after discussing the issue with Uson.
Go said he was not sure whether Uson's apology would be public.
“We all agreed to put this issue to rest out of respect to all our fellow Filipinos. I believe that politics should not divide us,” he said.
Go said he and the President apologized to Aquino who accused Uson of besmirching the legacy of her parents just to defend the President from attacks on his latest behavior towards women.
Aquino got incensed by Uson’s social media post showing a video of her late father, former Senator Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino Jr., receiving a kiss from two women on board a plane before he was gunned down on August 21, 1983.
Go said Uson told him that the intention of the video was to show that both Duterte and Ninoy Aquino are “well loved” by Filipinos.
“Kaya lang sabi ko kay Mocha iba ang emosyon ni Ma’am Kris Aquino. Nasaktan siya dahil sabi niya naalala niya ‘yung pagkamatay ng kanyang mga magulang. Hindi man lang niya nayakap nung huling sandali,” he said.
“Sabi ko intindihin na lang natin si Kris Aquino ukol dito.”
Uson is due to return to the Philippines late Wednesday evening from South Korea where Duterte had a three-day official visit and a summit with South Korean leader Moon Jae In. —NB/RSJ, GMA News

Just No Freedom

When Popular Entertainer (PE) entered showbiz, he probably had no idea that his successful career would change his life in ways he could never have imagined then. Having good looks, talent, and appeal, PE had potential to become a box-office. The management and producers saw all those qualities in PE and thus they decided to gamble. The investment paid off and PE is now loved by his fans and he has financial security.
However, fans of long ago are far different now. Today’s fans are highly possessive with the on and off cam life of their idols. The price of fame is PE’s lack of privacy. To be part of this generation and to connect with fans, social media accounts are indispensable. PE has his social media accounts and his followers savor and analyze every post he makes. What he probably does not know is how some followers are closely monitoring his posts and plotting a timeline of his activities. Any discrepancy or an unaccounted moment could unleash awful fan reactions.
One time, a follower caught A Female (AF) posting momentarily what seems to be part of the home of PE. Immediately, the follower pieced out the details of PE’s schedule and questioned how AF could be at his home if he was supposed to be at work. Thus, the conclusion was that he was entertaining AF at his home.
While there might be nothing wrong with PE entertaining AF, the problem was that he happens to be in a relationship with Versatile Talent (VT), whose fans are as equally possessive. Thus, the follower called out PE for his alleged visitor and accused of taking advantage of VT’s not being at their home.
Sadly, PE could not do anything about the actions of his fans that seem to be curtailing his freedom. He cannot be rude to them as his career hinges on the support he gets from them and he needs such support, as he embarks on new projects that could make or break his future in the industry.
‘Nobody can give you freedom. Nobody can give you equality or justice or anything. If you're a man, you take it.’ – Malcolm X

Repost: Fashion Icon Kate Spade Found Dead in Apartment

The American designer Kate Spade was found dead on Tuesday, according to police officials.
The police said that Ms. Spade, 55, was discovered unresponsive at a Park Avenue apartment, where she had hanged herself. She had left a note, but the official did not comment on what it said. She was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:26 a.m.
A housekeeper found Ms. Spade in her bedroom hanging from a red scarf tied to a doorknob, the police said. She was unconscious and the housekeeper called 911.
Ms. Spade’s husband was at the scene. A police spokesman did not know the whereabouts of Ms. Spade’s daughter.
Born Kate Brosnahan in Kansas City, Mo., in December 1962, Ms. Spade was one of the first of a powerful wave of female American contemporary designers in the 1990s.
She built a brand on the appeal of clothes and accessories that made women smile, her cheerful lack of restraint and bright prints striking a chord with consumers. She herself was the embodiment of her aesthetic, with her proto-1960s bouffant, nerd glasses and kooky grin, which masked a business mind that saw the opportunities in becoming a lifestyle brand, almost before the term officially existed.
Ms. Spade, who had been the accessories editor of Mademoiselle magazine, founded Kate Spade with her husband-to-be, Andy and a friend, Elyce Arons, in 1993. Frustrated with the handbags of the era, which she found to be over-accessorized, she had wanted “a functional bag that was sophisticated and had some style,” she told The New York Times in 1999.
She did not know what to call the company at first and decided to make it a combination of the names of the co-founders. After the first show, she realized that the bags needed a little something extra to catch people’s eyes. She took the label, which originally had been on the inside of the bag, and sewed it to the outside. With that gesture, she created a brand identity and her empire.
Within a few years, she had opened a SoHo shop and was collecting industry awards, her name a shorthand for the cute, clever bags that were an instant hit with career women and, later, young girls, status symbols of a more attainable, all-American sort than a Fendi clutch or Chanel bag. Ms. Spade became the very visible face of her brand.
In 1999, the Spades sold the business to Neiman Marcus Group, and the company changed hands several times after that — in 2006, Neiman Marcus Group sold it to Liz Claiborne, Inc., which eventually shed its other holdings to become the publicly-traded Kate Spade & Company, itself acquired in 2017 by Coach, Inc. (After the Kate Spade acquisition, Coach, Inc. became the holding company Tapestry, which also owns Coach and Stuart Weitzman.)
By then, the Spades had been gone a decade, having left in 2007 to devote themselves to other projects. Ms. Spade dedicated herself to her family and to philanthropy, and in 2016, together with her husband, Ms. Arons, and Paola Venturi, a Kate Spade alum, launched a new venture, an accessories label called Frances Valentine. Ms. Spade was so committed to the project that she told interviewers she had changed her surname from Spade to Valentine.
