Joining the Club

Nearing the peak of his career, Reliable Actor (RA) thought nothing would stop his making it to the top. After all, networks were much interested in him even if he already had a home then. Intrigues involving him and actresses were making headlines and his acting was slowly being noticed. However, just as when things were looking up, reality sets in, that is, RA saw that he would just play second or even third in his home, as he did have a strong backer and he was not really homegrown. RA then opted out and pinned his hopes on finding a new station and people to work with.
Jumping from one to another, RA finally settled down in New Network (NN), but the competition was tougher and NN could only offer roles that were second to the lead. Gone were the dreams of becoming a matinee idol, as such goal was impossible to attain in NN. Thus, RA mellowed down and focused on his work. He improved his acting and received offers to act in various movies. With NN, he was able to explore various roles, such as the perennial best friend, villain, etc. He did not shy away from portraying gay roles or from showing off his physique as well.
As his career progressed, many actresses were linked to him, but nothing materialized. His last major relationship with a celebrity was highly publicized and obviously, privacy was no longer sacred. From their breakup moment, nothing has been heard about the lovelife of RA. Although he is not a matinee idol nor does he belong to the lead, he has kept his private life quiet.
Rumors have it that he has a Non-showbiz girlfriend (NG). As he is not really a prime lead actor, NG was not hounded by the press. RA is not even seen with NG in gatherings and only closest friends and family know the seriousness of the relationship. To make matters more interesting, NG has allegedly given birth to their lovechild. So far, RA has not made any announcement nor any hint that he is already a father. Those who know of the birth are wondering why he has not revealed anything. He is not of matinee idol status, anyway, and thus, has nothing to lose. Besides, a number of celebrities have admitted to fathering kids while balancing their careers and RA could just join the club.

Forrmer Senate President Edgardo Angara has passed away due to “an apparent heart attack” on Sunday. He was 83.
His son, Senator Juan Edgardo (Sonny) Angara, on Twitter announced the passing of the former Senate chief.
“Sad to say my father former Senator Edgardo Javier Angara passed on from this life this morning at the age of 83, from an apparent heart attack,” he said in his post Sunday afternoon.
Full details of the demise have yet to be disclosed, but the younger Angara said the family is still arranging the funeral.
“We are still arranging funeral arrangements for my father but will keep everyone posted too. We ask for prayers for the repose of his soul,” Angara tweeted.
Angara also wrote a column for the Manila Bulletin.

Under His Call
Talents come and go, and loyalty seems scarce these days. When Lead Performer (LP) joined a band, he was the missing piece to complete The Team (TT). Like all newbies, TT had to struggle to prove that they deserve space in the crowded industry. Patiently, they did their own thing and years passed until finally TT got the recognition. The potential to be the next important group was hovering around TT. They had the following and the usual bashing that went with fame. It was just a matter of time before TT hit it big. Then, even before the momentum could flung TT far, LP quit. No reason, no excuses. LP decided he was not joining TT anymore. TT decided it can go on without LP anyway.
Still, speculations are abuzz as to the behind the scene intrigue between LP and the rest of TT. Questions on money matters or even artistic freedom were top choices. However, the grapevine says otherwise and more people are allegedly involved.
Just as TT had shown what it could do, supporters started gravitating toward them. TT even caught the attention of Versatile Musician (VM). VM is not just an ordinary person in the industry, as he had already proven what he could do. Fans love his talent, whether on stage or in front of the camera, VM has a steady following. Moreover, he has passion for his talent and being approached by him could be an overwhelming experience.
With a bit of talk and promises here and there, VM convinced TT that he might be the man they were looking for. VM could bring the gigs to TT and they can even perform together. The offer sounds too good to be true and the next few weeks proved it. VM and TT had a falling out. Allegedly, VM wanted TT to sign a contract and he wanted a bigger share of the pie. TT did not agree and VM was kicked out.
Allegedly, to get back at TT, VM convinced LP to bolt out. After all, LP was already practicing his talent long before joining TT and the industry would always have space for someone like him. So, while TT is left with a gap, LP is set on his own mission. As to whether VM had a strong hand in the decision of LP, the next gigs will tell.
