Repost: Morissette Denies Story of Mocking Sarah Geronimo

Breakout singer Morissette, a former ward of Sarah Geronimo on "The Voice of the Philippines," addressed accusations that she mocked the recent emotional breakdown of the pop star, whom she continues to refer to as her idol.

Morissette, 21, denied the rumor in an interview with ABS-CBN News' MJ Felipe Friday, countering one by one the details of the supposed incident.

"Wala pong nangyaring gano'n talaga. Napanood ko 'yung video ni ate Sarah na umiiyak, I was at home with my family," she said, contrary to the accusation that she was seen laughing as she watched the same video while on the set of "Umagang Kay Ganda," ABS-CBN's morning magazine program.

A version of the story alleged Morissette was inside an "Umagang Kay Ganda" dressing room with fellow singer Angeline Quinto, when they both supposedly ridiculed their "ASAP" co-star's meltdown.

Morissette stressed she never entered a dressing room for her recent guest appearance on the show, adding that "Umagang Kay Ganda" staff can even validate this claim.

She also brought up the fact that one of the show's hosts, Amy Perez, already denied that she has an assistant or companion, who, according to the rumor, witnessed Morissette and Quinto's behavior.

"Nagulat ako," Morissette said. "Bakit naman po kami dinadamay ni Angeline, na ginawan pa kami ng ganoong kuwento?"

The "Akin Ka Na Lang" hitmaker lamented the fact that despite the lack of evidence backing the accusation, some people on social media were quick to believe and make snap judgment.

She said: "Nagulat po ako na ang daming naniwala sa wala namang evidence. It's sad that people can believe that fast. I'm just sad about that."

Like Quinto, who broke down in tears amid the mudslinging from so-called fans of Geronimo, Morissette said there have been "people around me who have been comforting me naman, texts from co-artists na nagsabi na sana OK lang daw ako."

"I'm OK, I'm not bothered by it, because malinis naman ang konsensiya ko. I know I did nothing like that," she added.

With a showbiz career that skyrocketed in 2014 via "The Voice," Morissette said she can identify with colleagues in the industry, like Geronimo, when it comes to being exhausted from work.

"Of course, I feel for her, because I am in that same nature of work. I also get tired, I also have moments like that, na feeling ko, pagod na pagod na ako, pero I still have to do it for my audience, for my craft. I owe it to them, to the people who work hard to make the show possible," she said.

Morissette, who has been vocal of her admiration for Geronimo since her "The Voice" audition, also mentioned that the pop star remains one of her idols in the industry.

"To say na I'm someone who would be laughing at someone as big as Sarah Geronimo, na sobrang ina-idol ko, grabe naman sila na binabaliktad nila 'yun," she said.

Be a Cheapskate

One of the greatest lessons that is often learned too late is that of ‘keeping up with the Joneses.’ The anecdote simply says that one should not be obsessed with obtaining as much as the neighbors through any means. Unfortunately, Network Personality (NP) might have been thinking of keeping up with his friends.

Although NP has worked for a significant number of years in the entertainment industry, he has enjoyed his life too much and only recently, did he choose to slow down his social life. A Woman (AW) is being pinpointed as the one responsible for NP’s living a more substantial life. While AW turned NP’s life around, he seems to be in a bigger mess these days.

Despite NP having several opportunities in his network, NP is rumored to have a significant financial problem. Allegedly, NP has been borrowing from his friends and they have been trying to collect from him. Some people would overhear colleagues asking NP when he would pay, and there would be no clear answer. At this point, asking for payment might be a bit hard on NP, as he had just undergone an expensive life event.

With limited financial resources, NP wanted someone to sponsor the significant items he needed for his big day. During the last minute, things had not gone as he had anticipated. He and his sponsor for the items did not agree on the terms, as NP wanted full sponsorship, but the supplier wanted different terms that involved cash and services. As the big day was approaching, the item was still missing. Luckily, Major Celebrity (MC) took over, paid for the said items, and saved the day for NP.

Incidentally, as NP had borrowed from his friends, who could not get their money back asap, people are wondering if this money matter made Close Friend (CF) lose interest to show up when NP needed him around.

‘Most people do not want much. All they want is to be envied by most people.’― Mokokoma Mokhonoana

Can’t Believe Excuses

When life events are about to be staged, much planning has been done prior to the big day. Part of the preparations would be letting friends and family, formally or informally, know that something significant will happen on a said date. The message is that they should already make sure that day is free from other commitments. Being invited becomes a privilege for most people, and their presence would be an acknowledgement of their bond with the hosts.

Sometime ago, Showbiz Partners (SP) already came out with an announcement that they will soon become one. Usually, celebrity unions are kept private in terms of the venue and the specific date, and only people considered closer to the couple would know such information way ahead of the public. Expectedly, attendance of close friends and workmates are valued.

The day came for SP and the photos showed a joyous occasion with family and colleagues in attendance. Yet, followers noticed several friends were not in attendance. Most of the women coworkers decided to skip the date and attend to other concerns. To be sure, they all were out of the country or had business commitments that made them impossible to travel and spend the day with SP. One Friend (1F) was on the other side of the globe for charity purposes. Second Friend (2F) was on vacation. Third Friend (3F) opted to work.

What hurts Male Partner (MP) was that the three already knew the date months ahead and therefore, any excuse would be flimsy. MP felt that he was closest to the three and yet they decided to skip the date. The question is why. Allegedly, they were not too keen on Female Partner (FP) because of her attitude.

When 1F tied the knot, FP was alleged to have told MP not to go. Moreover, 1F is being pointed at as the reason why FP had to part ways with MP in a project. To show support for 1F, 2F did her own thing with her family. Meanwhile, assumed to be as his best man, which turned out wrong, 3F chose to work instead of showing up. Shoots can always be rescheduled and the endorsement would understand the importance of the day of MP for 3F. However, 3F skipped, too. Such decision could be a coincidence, but everyone knows the bond between 1F and 3F is stronger. Now, if and when 3F decides to set his own date, would SP attend?
