Keeping the Punishment

Whenever These Celebrities (TC) grant interviews, they share one thing, that is, they would impose a condition. The condition is simple, but disappointing for interviewers. The two would refuse any feature done on them if they have to speak about a Particular Person (PP).

As TC has been estranged from PP, people are hoping that the years apart and maturity would have made TC more liberal on talking about that person. Unfortunately, most people are wrong, as the two are very adamant on imposing their condition. Otherwise, they would refuse the interview or simply walk out.

No one, other than the closest family members, can really identify what dreadful thing PP did to harden TC. Once PP and TC were very close, but certain events caused them to separate, and although PP tried to fight for TC, only solid walls blocked her access. Over the years, PP tried to reach out, but she was ignored until the distance became wider and TC no longer recognized her role in their life.

Persistent as she was, things were difficult for PP. She TC kept still and showed no hint of softening up. PP had no more choice, but to live her life. She had no career, and she had nowhere else to go, but to move on. While the pain that TC could inflict on her is real, she has opted to focus on making sure she will not make the same mistake that could have resulted in this gap between her and TC. Meanwhile, TC is finding their own selves by venturing in diverse paths. PP could only watch in the sidelights.

Allegedly, TC no longer wants to reveal their thoughts because they might be misunderstood. Once they say something about PP, commenters will take advantage and misinterpretation might happen. Besides, they also do not want to risk hurting people who might feel alluded to with whatever they say. While showbiz is a small world and everyone knows the relationship of TC and PP, no one has dared to bridge or reconcile them for now.

Crushed and Killed Vulnerability

Talented Female actress (TF) thought she found the man of her dreams in Model Actor (MA). However, her friends and fans remained doubtful that MA was true to her. TF had fallen for the charms of MA, and no one could stop her from investing her emotions and finances.

TF started her career at an early age and from then on, she was recognized for bringing laughter to the audience. She was very effective in her roles and she was idolized because she was confident in herself. Her talent prevailed over her looks. Besides, even seasoned celebrities liked and supported her in her endeavors. She always had projects lined up in her network and movie producers took chances to give her significant roles in movies.

During one of these projects, MA entered the life of TF. Muscular and debonair, the moment MA’s photos began to appear online and in various print publications, he immediately became the crush of readers. Then, when he appeared with TF, she suddenly became the envy of female followers of MA who hated her for seeming to be the apple of the eye of MA.

While comments ranged from envy to being used, TF stood tall, walked with her chin up. After all, MA was giving her attention then. His eyes were on her. Photos of the couple cozying up became common in social media, but still, most people thought it was just a gimmick for their project. However, there came a point when it seemed that MA and TF were really together, gimmick was set aside.

When their project was over, the outcome did not fare as expected. In other words, the project was a flop. TF sought support from MA, but he was no longer around. She contacted him, but he was always out of reach. Just like that, he disappeared from her life. Sadly, the hunches of her friends were right. MA was toying with TF all the time. Allegedly, he was on a bet that he could make her fall for him. She did. TF was emotionally invested, as she sincerely hoped he was her true love. She was even alleged to have spent much on him, which drastically affected her savings. Now, while she is between projects, MA had an acting part in a teleserye.

For now, TF can just express her disappointment via social media and from that experience, she learned how clichés could be true. Instead of falling for a handsome guy, better fall for someone at the same level unless one would be willing to spend so much to win that guy’s affection..

Repost: DOJ Junks Deniece Cornejo's Rape Complaints vs Vhong Navarro

The Department of Justice has dismissed the rape and attempted rape complaints filed by model-actress Deniece Cornejo against actor-host Vhong Navarro.

Cornejo had accused Navarro of raping her on January 17 and January 22, the night of a controversial mauling incident that left the "It's Showtime" host seriously injured.

In a review resolution dated 6 September 2017, the DOJ reversed its original recommendation to indict Navarro on the said offenses and held that both Cornejo and her stories were not credible.

The evidence presented by Cornejo's camp did not establish probable cause to indict Navarro for the crime he was accused of committing, said the DOJ.

The department said it scrutinized the records of the case, but "such thorough scrutiny has failed to make us engender a well-founded belief that the rape and attempted rape described by complainant actually happened."

The DOJ conducted 3 investigations in connection with the case, but the charges against Navarro were dismissed in the first two investigations and Cornejo was indicted for perjury in the third.

In its review resolution, the DOJ said Cornejo “suffers from a very serious credibility issue,” as the department pointed out “major inconsistencies” in her three complaint-affidavits against Navarro.

“[Cornejo’s] story about the incident on January 17, 2014 changed from no rape (or anything amorous for that matter) happening (first complaint-affdavit), to rape being committed by force (second complaint affidavit), and finally to rape being committed rendering her dizzy and weak due to a date rape drug-laced wine (third complaint-affidavit)."

“On the other hand, complainant’s story about the incident on January 22, 2014 started from rape being committed by force (first complaint-affidavit), to absolutely having no mention about any incident (second complaint-affidavit), until the events morphed into a mere attempt to rape her (second complaint-affidavit),” the resolution read.

The DOJ also stressed Cornejo’s first complaint-affidavit contained less details than her second complaint-affidavit while “[c]ommon human experience dictates that a narration given close to the incident usually contains more details than one that is given later.”

“This is because in the former, the events or details are still fresh in the narrator’s mind, while the passage of time will make a person forget details,” the resolution read.

CCTV FOOTAGE

The resolution also mentioned the CCTV footage obtained from Cornejo’s condominium which showed her entering the elevator on the night of January 22, 2014 “only a minute” after Navarro stepped out of the elevator to proceed to her unit.

“In that time span, [Cornejo] claims that respondent was able to push her towards the living area of the condominium unit and pressed his entire weight against her, before her friends arrived and immediately restrained [Navarro].

“But then again… [i]n her first complaint-affidavit, [Cornejo] alleges that [Navarro] succeeded in violating her by pulling her hair and dragging her to the sofa, chasing her to the bedroom and pinning her down on the bed, and thereafter lifted one leg of her short pants and forced his hard penis into her vagina,” the resolution stated.

The DOJ also noted that another CCTV footage, recorded after Cornejo and her friends brought Navarro to a police station, showed “[C]ornejo’s actuations after the supposed rape incident… are inconsistent with the actuations and demeanor of a person who has just been violated.”

“Also, how come Cedric Lee was kissing complainant in the elevator after they had brought respondent to the police station?” the resolution pointed out.

Lee is among Cornejo’s friends who had been indicted for mauling Navarro on January 22, 2014.
