Cannot be Granted
Wanting to impress her family, Celebrity Host (CH) treated at a high-end restaurant in a posh hotel. As the celebration was in honor of a Family Relation (FR), CH ordered left and right. The expensive food and drinks surprised FR, as he was already nervous of the possible high cost of the treat. It’s not that they cannot afford the bill, it’s just that the cost might be too excessive and create a not so good impression on the younger ones.
As predicted, the bill came out to a whopping five figures. When CH saw the total, she boldly asked the cashier if she could get a discount. The cashier said he will ask as her request is beyond his responsibility. CH said that she was with FR, a famous and respected media personality. She even promised to write an excellent review of the restaurant. The cashier smiled, as CH and FR are very recognizable indeed.
Finally, the manager came over and CH repeated her request for a discount. The manager said there were no instructions and he cannot decide over such matters. CH was insistent and promised the manager that she will even bring a most sought after celebrity Reel Couple (RC) to the restaurant if she’s given a discount. The manager remained firm and said that he could not grant her request.
In the end, CH paid the full amount, as the staff remained steadfast, but they could not help but talk about the gall of such celebrity. Imagine someone as recognizable as CH namedropping and using the people she values for her own advantage. FR might not be happy if he finds out that CH mentioned him, and definitely, the fans of RC will shame CH for using the power couple without them even knowing. On the business side, the establishment is aware that once a discount is given to CH, then her next visits should be given the same accord.

Letter from a Reader: Admitting Is Never Easy

Dear Fashion PULIS,
I was always a big fan of Blonde Singer (BS) and I was so happy that she was able to do her first concert here in the Philippines. Her songs are so catchy and are so fun to sing along to. BS’ vocals are not that super amazing but her stage presence is definitely something to behold. To many of her fans, even to me, BS will always be the icon of the late 90s and for some hardcore fans.
My love for BS was renewed more than ever due to her recent visit and I always see updates of her in the news and in social media. It was very interesting that after reading many articles and stories about BS online, I came upon several news sources and even photos that BS had psoriasis. This was new to me because BS has always been confident and powerful, and well of course, she showed a lot of skin. So I was very surprised to know that BS suffered from this very visual skin condition.
Now I know a few friends and relatives to have the same condition as BS and I hope things get better for them and for BS too. Some of them, like BS, use skin creams but what most of my friends use is an oil-based variant. Those who used the oil massaged them consistently in their affected areas and they claim that it really helps minimize their breakouts. I was able to know what they’re putting was called Moringa-O2 Therapy Oil. I checked them out online and they seem to be having many other benefits too. They even have helpful articles on psoriasis and how to treat them. Maybe BS should try this out too.

Very Intriguing Decisions
Just as when people wondered what would happen to the career of Hot New Celebrity (HC), he suddenly resurfaces in several marked projects. HC was supposed to be one of the talents A Network (AN) vowed to build up and obviously, make famous. AN tried to make HC famous, but efforts were in vain, and circumstances that were beyond HC forced him to find work somewhere else.
Lucky for him, Prominent Personality (PP) was already eyeing him. PP cannot be blamed as HC oozes with appeal and can act and sing. In other words, investing in HC can pay off. Known for having an eye for cute and talented hunks, PP did not hesitate to invite HC and see his opportunities. For someone who has nowhere else to go, HC could not refuse.
If rumors are to be believed, PP was smitten. After all, HC fits the mold of his previous talents, who more or less were on the same path as the one being followed by HC. As soon as a good-looking talent is taken in by PP, expect that talent to appear in the projects of the network. First, the talent has guestings in non-primetime shows and after a few weeks, the talent is suddenly given a big break in a major project. Such leap is rare for most of the homegrown talents, who have to wait for their turn. Then, once the network has milked the talent or perhaps, if PP decides to move on, the talent can either use the reputation PP helped him establish or go astray and thus, slowly lose the luster. Consequently, the fans will move away as well.
Similarly, the grapevine reverberates with the claim that PP and HC are more than mentor-mentee. Allegedly, the two have a very special relationship, which paves the way for HC to be part of major projects of the network. Hence, not only is PP investing in HC, the latter knows what being close to the former can do for his career. If he plays his cards right, HC can be the next big star of the network, but if he clams up midway, lets success enter his head, which is a major mistake for many celebrities, and refuses to follow PP, he might end up with nothing.
