A Botched Request

When parents realize that their child has potential to succeed in showbiz, they will do everything to make sure their son or daughter gets on top. Many of today’s top celebrities started as unknowns and only had sheer talent that allowed them to be noticed by industry bigwigs, who gave them a much needed break. Thus, most of them started at a young age and have been performing for decades. Meanwhile, most parents have decided to drop their careers and focus on handling the careers of their children.

The sad reality is that parents and the rest of the family sometimes rely on the celebrity child for their financial concerns. This situation is quite common to the point that some parents even control not only the lives of their celebrity children, but also their personal freedom and finances. As parents, they would claim that it is their duty to make sure their celebrity son or daughter would be guided. For the money issue, certain celebrities actually have yet to truly enjoy financial independence.

Teen Actress (TA) started her career by auditioning, as she does not have any connection in the business at all. She is not related to any industry insider who can guarantee her automatic fame in the industry. At a young age, she had to work hard for every peso that flows into her family and deal with a broken home.

As the breadwinner of her family, one would expect that TA would be treated a bit better to show appreciation for her contribution to the family finances. Unfortunately, such perception is not true. In their household, each member does what he/she pleases and if it includes ignoring TA, then such will happen. One time, TA apparently wanted to watch a movie and needed someone to accompany her. As TA asked if anyone could accompany her, her family members all declined. Thus, TA had to stay home and feel sad that no one wanted to go with her.

When family members are busy with their own thing and ignore one member, chances are that family member could seek attention from the wrong crowd. TA needs as much guidance at present to make sure she focuses on her career. That guidance should come from her immediate guardian. After all, with family benefitting from her career, giving in to her request and providing her with attention would be meaningful for someone of TA’s age and for someone who has been working already for almost half her life.

Doubted Love

Sometime ago, Reliable Actress (RA) found a second chance at love with Non-showbiz Personality (NP). During her younger years, RA was on her way to a successful career, as her network then saw her potential. However, she dropped out of the scene, which puzzled her fans. Then, after a year, RA surfaced and admitted that she had been pregnant and had just given birth. Thus, to make ends meet and assure a good future for her child, she had to resume her career. Besides, the father of her child was noted to be not interested in committing to her.

Heartbroken and a career that has no guarantee, things were getting tough for RA. When NP entered her life, RA found new inspiration. Although famous in his field, NP was the best friend and support system of RA. Seeing the two together showed that they were truly in love. Wedding bells were very loud.

Seemingly without warning, RA declared she was done with NP, but did not cite any reason. This announcement was shocking, as the two seemed headed for the altar. However, things happen for a reason. According to the grapevine, RA and NP were indeed seriously planning for their wedding until that day she changed her mind. The issue was not about money, but was enough for RA to doubt her future with NP. Allegedly, the family of NP was not keen on having an in-law that was part of showbiz, a single parent at that, and was not really one who has superstar status. The negative attitude of the family of NP was too much for RA. Worse, NP was unable to defend her, which is why she decided to cut the relationship.

Then, after a few months of separation, RA and NP were seen together again. The sweetness seemed to be back, and everyone saw that RA was happier. People even praise the fact that NP has accepted the child of RA without much fuss. They just bonded. The question is if RA and NP will continue with their previous plan of getting married, which could imply that NP has to disobey his family. Will love win?
