Just Be Engaging, Please

When Network Newcomer (NN) decided to try his luck with another network, he expressed his desire to try challenging roles, which he claims his previous network was not giving him. Without much fuss, NN moved over, and his former home let him go, as the network has other hopefuls they are eyeing to develop as leading men.

NN got his wish and his new home gave him the opportunity to act in anticipated teleseryes. Although being the new one seemed awkward, NN had no choice but to mingle with his fellow celebrities to be accepted in their circle. In one of his projects, he met Versatile Actor (VA).

As an actor, VA has done roles that took him from the good guy to the bad guy. Despite his looks, his image was more of being the foil to the lead character, as his acting was a notch above than most of his co-workers. In fact, his acting made industry movers believe in his potential and his attitude was impressive for a newcomer. When he was offered to do a movie with another actor, he agreed knowing fully well of the intimacy and nudity needed for the role. His role in the movie made his fans question his preference, by the way.

Between takes, NN and VA would spend time talking and bonding. One day, NN gave VA a pair of shoes, which fit the latter well. VA was happy at the thoughtfulness of NN. Then, NN started giving VA gadgets, which of course, he preferred. Although NN might still be a struggling actor, he comes from a rich background and has no money problems. In other words, he can afford to give VA what he wants. Flattered with the material things coming from NN, VA did his best to keep the camaraderie.

As he could not keep the actions of NN secret, VA told a Production Staff (PS) of the way NN has been treating him. PS laughed and teased VA, as obviously, NN likes him. However, VA was not the first attempt of NN in their locale. During an earlier project, NN tried to woo Hot Talent (HT) with the same style. Nothing happened because HT is straight and committed to his long-time girlfriend. Now, NN is doing the same thing to VA.

VA did feel that NN might be trying to win his favor. Given that their project seems promising, NN and VA will still have more moments to be together. The question is if VA will give in to the desire and make NN happy, or will NN have another disappointing, heartbreaking experience. Nonetheless, NN has yet to come out publicly, while VA is among the fantasies of girls and gays, given his tough man stance.

A Non-Encouraging Behavior

All celebrities are human beings exposed to certain levels of problems. Behind the image of the roles they portray are vulnerable and gullible individuals who behave like the common person. Celebrities fall in love and get hurt in failed relationships. Sometimes, they are the ones who hurt others and behave as though they are the innocent party. In other instances, they pretend as though everything is fine even if every person around them know that their world is crumbling. Thus, celebrities, like everyone else, have feet of clay.

However, what makes celebrities rise about others is the way they handle such trials. For instance, when a celebrity realizes that his/her marriage is over, he/she could either go public and reveal the reasons behind their breakups. Some would go as far as exposing the third party or embarrass the future ex-lover. By contrast, others would clam up and regardless of pressure, will not succumb to posting in social media their true feelings. Denials would continue just to protect their image. Still, very few celebrities would be brave enough to admit the truth in public even if such revelation could affect their image. In this case, most celebrities gain more sympathy and generally a positive reaction from followers.

Unfortunately, despite having undergone many trials, certain celebrities have ways of coping that can be disturbing to their co-workers. During the taping of a dramatic teleserye, fellow actors and production people noticed the highly-strung disposition of Beleaguered Celebrity (BC). Between takes, BC could be heard cursing at the smallest of things and actually punctuating every sentence with an expletive in English. Even when she is called to be on the set, she reacts with a curse phrase. This behavior did not escape the attention of the senior celebrities in the project. They were alarmed and scandalized at the foul-mouth of BC. Yet, they were very careful in calling the attention of BC, as they know what she is undergoing during those times.

However, a lead performer had to ask the production people to calm down BC, as her attitude could be distracting on the set. Besides, her bad mouth was so unlike her pleasant looks. In fairness to BC, however, when she goes in front of the camera, no problems arise. She is prepared and in character, which impressed her co-stars. Apparently, her problems have deepened her communing with her feelings, which positively created impact on the strength of her acting.
