Suppressing the Pain for Now
Alluring Celebrity (AC) only had good intentions in helping in the campaign of a Public Servant (PS). In the past few months, AC has fewer showbiz commitments given that she wanted to spend time to help PS win. She has actively campaigned via her social media accounts, which has a respectable number of followers. As a celebrity, AC could perform to entice the crowd. She has the looks and the talent that could entertain the crowd before the political speeches begin. She could break the monotony of the usual speeches of politicians enticing voters.
The devotion of AC to PS is not questionable. To indicate the importance of AC in the life of PS, she was even interviewed regarding a family controversy involving PS and Opinionated Talent (OT). Her opinion, which favored PS, was highly sought after by media. While her intentions seem to benefit PS, Influential Actress (IA) is not at all comfortable with the way AC had been vocal in her support for PS.
When AC was starting out her career, she was immediately linked to IA and her family. That strategy placed pressure as IA had to protect her image of being compassionate and understanding. Thus, she had no choice but to be civil to AC and her family. As years passed, AC managed to step out of the shadow of IA’s family, given that she developed her acting skills, which were soon recognized with various awards. Other than being an impressive actress, she is a commendable singer and performer. No doubt, showbiz blood was in her, and this image has caused discomfort to IA.
Allegedly, IA told PS to inform AC to stop giving her opinion, especially when the controversy with OT emerged. Consequently, OT got herself in hot water and earned the ire of IA even if blood is supposed to be thicker than water. People are even anticipating more tension as Retired Actress (RA) is in town and people are speculating that she might suddenly speak up. However, this issue is just a minor concern compared to the feelings of IA. IA believes that the existence of AC is a reminder of the dark side of the legacy of the family, an image IA wants to keep pristine. Thus, seeing AC on the same stage as PS will continue to remind people of the flaws and incidents of infidelity in the family.
Sadly, while the presence of AC, as well as the others, is causing IA deep pain, she cannot do much about the vocal support of AC. AC has even brought her friends, who have their own followers as well, to the campaign trail to support PS. All forms of backing up PS are needed at this point, and thus, IA would just have to bear the pain for the meantime.

Repost: Pop Legend Prince Dies at 57

Pop superstar Prince, widely acclaimed as one of the most inventive and influential musicians of his era with hits including "Little Red Corvette," ''Let's Go Crazy" and "When Doves Cry," was found dead at his home on Thursday in suburban Minneapolis, according to his publicist. He was 57.
"It is with profound sadness that I am confirming that the legendary, iconic performer, Prince Rogers Nelson, has died at his Paisley Park residence this morning at the age of 57," publicist Yvette Noel-Schure said.
No details were immediately released amid the outpouring of shock and grief online from fans, musicians and celebrities online. Prince had been fighting the flu for several weeks, a rep said last week, after his plane made an emergency landing on Friday because he was ill.
The singer, songwriter, arranger and instrumentalist broke through in the late 1970s with the hits "Why You Wanna Treat Me So Bad?" and "I Wanna Be Your Lover," and soared over the following decade with such albums as "1999" and "Purple Rain." The title song from "1999" includes one of the most widely quoted refrains of popular culture: "Tonight I'm gonna party like it's 1999."
Three of his songs - "Purple Rain," ''Little Red Corvette," and "When Doves Cry," - surged to 7th, 9th and 10th on iTunes' Top Songs chart in the wake of Prine's death.
Four of his albums - "The Very Best of Prince," ''Purple Rain," ''The Hits / The B-Sides," and "1999" - jumped to 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 8th on iTunes' Top Albums chart by Thursday afternoon.
The Minneapolis native, born Prince Rogers Nelson, stood just 5 feet, 2 inches tall, and seemed to summon the most original and compelling sounds at will, whether playing guitar in a flamboyant style that openly drew upon Jimi Hendrix, switching his vocals from a nasally scream to an erotic falsetto or turning out album after album of stunningly original material. Among his other notable releases: "Sign O' the Times," ''Graffiti Bridge" and "The Black Album."
He was also fiercely protective of his independence, battling his record company over control of his material and even his name. Prince once wrote "slave" on his face in protest of not owning his work and famously battled and then departed his label, Warner Bros., before returning a few years ago.
"What's happening now is the position that I've always wanted to be in," Prince told the AP in 2014. "I was just trying to get here."
The same year, Prince was inducted into the Rock and Roll of Fame, which hailed him as a musical and social trailblazer.
Rock & Roll Hall of Fame CEO and President Greg Harris said that Prince "changed the game."
"He controlled the stage, he controlled the music and he controlled the media," Harris said in a statement.
Rarely lacking in confidence, Price effortlessly absorbed the music of others and made it sound like Prince, whether the James Brown guitar riff on "Kiss" or the Beatle-esque, psychedelic pop of "Raspberry Beret."
He also proved a source of hits for others, from Sinead O'Connor's "Nothing Compares 2 U" to Cyndi Lauper's "When You Were Mine." He also wrote "Manic Monday" for the Bangles
Prince had been touring and recording right up until his death, releasing four albums in the last 18 months, including two on the Tidal streaming service last year. He performed in Atlanta last week as part of his "Piano and a Microphone" tour, a stripped down show that has featured a mix of his hits like "Purple Rain" or "Little Red Corvette" and some B-sides from his extensive library.
Prince debuted the intimate format at his Paisley Park studios in January, treating fans to a performance that was personal and was both playful and emotional at times.
The musician had seemed to be shedding his reclusive reputation. He hosted several late-night jam sessions where he serenaded Madonna, celebrated the Minnesota Lynx's WNBA championship and showcased his latest protege, singer Judith Hill.
Ever surprising, he announced on stage in New York City last month that he was writing his memoir. "The Beautiful Ones" was expected to be released in the fall of 2017 by publishing house Spiegel & Grau. The publishing house has not yet commented on status of book, but a press release about the memoir says: "Prince will take readers on an unconventional and poetic journey through his life and creative work." It says the book will include stories about Prince's music and "the family that shaped him and the people, places, and ideas that fired his creative imagination."
A small group of fans quickly gathered in the rain Thursday outside his music studio, Paisley Park, where Prince's gold records are on the walls and the purple motorcycle he rode in his 1984 breakout movie, "Purple Rain," is on display. The white building surrounded by a fence is in Chanhassen, about 20 miles southwest of Minneapolis.
Steven Scott, 32, of Eden Prairie, said he was at Paisley Park last Saturday for Prince's dance party. He called Prince "a beautiful person" whose message was that people should love one another.
"He brought people together for the right reasons," Scott said.

Repost: Shaina on Bea-John Lloyd: 'It's None of My Business'

Shaina Magdayao refused to comment when asked about reports romantically linking her best friend Bea Alonzo to her ex-boyfriend John Lloyd Cruz.
"Dapat pa ba akong mag-react? I don't think kailangan kong mag-react. That's totally out of the environment kung saan ako gumagalaw ngayon and it's actually none of my business," Magdayao told reporters on Tuesday at a press conference announcing the second season of the Cinema One series "Single/Single."
Magdayao also declined to comment when asked about the breakup of Cruz and Angelica Panganiban.
In a previous interview, Panganiban hinted that she might be the reason why Magdayao broke up with Cruz.
"Dapat wala din akong say doon because that's totally out of my world. Until now hindi ko alam if it's even confirmed. Hindi kasi ako nagsasalita sa mga things na hindi ko naman alam to begin with. Mahirap makisawsaw sa buhay ng ibang tao, the same way na I don't want them to do that to me also. Magkaibang mundo kami ngayon. Magkaibang mundo ang ginagalawan namin so ayaw ko munang mag-comment," she said.
Magdayao did say that she is now friends again with Cruz and have even worked together in last year's fantasy series "Nathaniel."
But asked if she's friends with Panganiban, Magdayao said: "I guess I'm okay with everyone but we are not close to begin with. But you know life is short, madami ng namamatay ngayon. Bakit ka pa gagawa ng friction with any other individual?"
"You know, I'm just here sa showbiz, sa mundong ito, to work and that's it. Nothing else. Lahat ng ginagawa ko it's just work and my life, my personal life, is bigger than this world. Siguro ito lang ang exposed sa inyo but madami pang nangyayaring maganda sa buhay ko outside of show business."
Magdayao also dismissed the idea that there is a chance that she and Cruz could get back together.
"Wala namang nangyayari talaga ngayon. It's really far from my world. My world is really big but the industry is very small. At ano ba, four years na ang nakalabas. It's not naman new that we bump into each other. Nagkatrabaho din naman kami sa 'Nathaniel.' I think mas importante na I'm okay with him, we are okay, we say hi to each other and I think 'yun lang yon, nothing more, nothing less," she said.
