Cannot Keep Their Promise

When celebrities use their time and popularity to endorse an activity, the audience expects that they will walk their talk. Thus, when Celebrity Couple (CC) enticed their followers to take on a movie marathon challenge, they were expected to lead the audience. After all, CC kept telling that they would be around and complete the challenge. Given that they are popular, such pronouncements were accepted and the audience eagerly waited to watch with CC.
On the day of the challenge, the couple was spotted in the audience, which was a good sign. After 30 minutes, viewers in the theater were bothered by the glare of light coming from the area of CC. Obviously, text messaging was happening. While others assumed that CC could be texting updates and extending invitations to their followers via their social media accounts, it was obvious that the couple were uneasy.
During the break, CC stepped out of the theater. With still two-thirds of the movie to finish, the audience entered the cinema and eagerly awaited the next parts. When the production team looked at the area where CC should be, the seats were vacant. Finally, the viewers were able to watch the movie without the light glaring from the mobile devices of CC. Someone informed the production that CC had to leave because there was an emergency. As part of the business themselves, the hosts understood the circumstances and did not take the early departure against CC.
The movie finished and everything was fine until CC appeared on air. This time, the couple were passionately plugging the movie and praising all aspects of the said masterpiece. CC spoke to the audience like they had completely watched the movie, and others who were not at the theater thought they did. Sadly, everything that CC said that day was merely a bunch of press release statements given that they were allegedly not able to watch the entire movie.
The actions of CC were so disappointing and thus, some could not help but refer to them as fakers. They were unable to meet the test and worse, they had allegedly lied about by pretending with words and fooling viewers. When celebrities say one thing, but do another, they lose credibility. Others simply reacted by saying that it would have been better had CC not bothered to plug the movie, as they themselves fell short of expectations.

Behind the Quick End of Her Performance

These days, however, a Big Network (BN) seems to be rewarding newly pirated talents and returnees with better mileage on screen compared to their homegrown discoveries. BN seems to be generous to a fault and sometimes spoils the new ones.
For instance, when Attractive Actress (AA) decided to bolt out of her former network, she went from one station to another until she decided it was time to go home to BN. Surprisingly, AA received an offer that no one could refuse. She grabbed the opportunity and within a few weeks, AA was sharing top billing with the lead actor. What was supposed to be just a brief appearance was extended because the feedback was great and the audience loved her chemistry with the lead actor.
Unknown to many, Co-Performer (CP) was feeling pressure because AA seems to have gotten an edge over her. Since she began her career, which was almost at the same time as AA, CP never did move to another channel nor hinted on leaving. In short, CP exhibited loyalty, and thus, she felt slighted that AA was slowly overshadowing her.
Although her last major project did not perform as expected, people were wondering why CP could be so relaxed in her position. CP seemed to be quite confident, but she apparently had some misgivings as to the flow of her project with AA. CP felt that she was being overtaken by AA. If there’s one thing that CP hates, it’s the fact that some new talent of the network would find a way to outperform her or to have more exposure.
Thus, CP went to an Influential Executive (IE) and aired her concern. Citing the original project, CP reminded IE that the character of AA should only have had limited exposure. Naturally, with AA out of the picture, the story could now devote more exposure to CP. Thus, what CP wants, CP gets. In a short time, the character of AA was written out. Although AA was emotional, her actions were limited to crying and to wishing that the station would keep its word on having a new project for her. Meanwhile, CP could now relax as she could hog the limelight without having to share it.
