The Art of Lying

How profitable is it for companies to hire celebrities as endorsers and pay them huge talent fees to promote their brand? Do all celebrity endorsers abide by their contract and really use and promote the company’s products/services and interest? Unfortunately, most of these stars have mastered the art of deception.

In spite of his image, Controversial Personality CP gets to have a number of lucrative projects and endorsements. CP’s everyday outfits are never a problem as he gets to be sponsored by the many brands he endorses, name it, CP has it: clothes, accessories and food, among others.

Just like other celebrities, CP will regularly take his selfies wearing these sponsored brands from head-to-toe and immediately post them on his Instagram account. That is neat. However, CP has a different way of doing things.

Whenever he would post his OOTD (outfit of the day) photos on his Instagram, CP would write an accompanying post making it appear to his followers that he would wear said OOTD to his event that day. Sad to say, but more often than not, it’s a lie.

On one particular day, CP posted his OOTD where he noted that it would be his 'look' for an event he was going to do that day. But before the event started, lo and behold, he was spotted wearing an entirely different ensemble. CP was wearing a branded shirt, a high-end watch, and a very pricey footwear only available abroad. And his meals? Sorry but he had never really eaten what he is endorsing. In fact, he gives it to his driver after the 'pictorial' as he has a diet plan to adhere to. Ouch!

His Egotistic Attitude

One of the stepping-stones in establishing a career in one of the major networks is the success of a loveteam. Thus, the loveteam is often a gauge if a young actor or a young actress will succeed in the business.

When Talented Cutie (TC) started his career, he was built up because of his youthful looks and his talents. However, since the network had a stable of outstanding actors, TC had to follow the usual path of having a reel partner. Unfortunately, his initial pairings did not generate the expected success and following. Well, other than lack of chemistry, his female partners were involved in issues that created impact in their career.

Luck smiled on TC when he was paired off with Rising Beauty (RB) in a movie. Although they played second leads, their chemistry was evident. Finally, the network gambled on TC and RB by pairing them in a teleserye. With a good story and an interesting location, people became curious and a following began. Moreover, RB was a refreshing figure on tv and her immaculate image was quite admirable.

While they shared the limelight in the said series, there was no doubt that TC was enjoying the fame and the adoration of fans. Unlike a few months ago, when his name did not really ring a bell, now, he has his own moniker as a result of their partnership. To the delight of fans, TC knows how to play the “kilig” game with RB, who has yet to imbibe the reality that she is already a big star.

Sadly, stories are emerging that the newfound success has entered the head of TC. He has allegedly been throwing weight on the set, and has been heard to shout during production. Worse, he has been seen to behave negatively on the set at certain times. Well, TC should be conscious of how he conducts himself on or off the set as his attitude will be compared with the unaffected RB.
