To Move or Repent
No matter how talented an actor you are, no matter how many shows you have, no matter how much sponsors previously spoiled you with their products, still, a star’s affiliation with a major network is one deciding factor before sponsors/companies make things happen for you - their star endorser. Talented Actor TA belatedly found this out when he moved to another network. TA soon realized that the goodies coming from his sponsors became so much less than the usual.
TA left His Station HS albeit with a heavy heart. He had been with HS for years yet he felt that he was losing as an artist, no growth and income because projects were hardly coming by. The only option left for him was to move to Network B NB, believing that things would turn out for the better, but did it?
Reportedly, TA lost some endorsements/sponsorships when he made that big jump to the other fence. He was surprised that it happened in spite of some regular shows he has in NB. Turned out, his moving to NB was the culprit. Advertising agency relied on survey that showed that NB is a weak station.
Oh indeed, it’s not really just the actor’s popularity that the ad agencies are looking for, but far more important is the network “reach” for that matter. To them, it’s all business. Agency insider revealed that even when TA was given shows on NB, the fact that its international presence fell short of their requirement, they cannot sustain giving sponsorships to TA for such limited exposure.
To the future “movers,” there’s the caveat. Hear, hear! Don’t just roll with the punches. Take a tip and be armed. C’est la vie!

Emmy-Winning Host Gets Fired After Talking about Paolo Ballesteros and Comparing Michelle Obama to Planet of the Apes

An Emmy-winning talk show host has been fired by Spanish-language TV station Univision after he compared the First Lady to a character from Planet Of The Apes on live television.
Rodner Figueroa, who's known for his biting fashion commentary, made the racially insensitive remark on the entertainment news show El Gordo Y La Flaca on Wednesday.
Venezuelan-born Figueroa made the remark in a segment discussing the work of make-up artist Paolo Ballesteros who posts photos of himself transformed into female celebrities.
Figueroa, 42, was talking about how Ballesteros had transformed himself into the First Lady when said: 'Well, watch out, you know that Michelle Obama looks like she's from the cast of Planet Of The Apes, the movie.'
When hostess Lili Estefan countered with 'What are you saying?' and host Raul de Molina said Obama was very attractive, Figueroa defended his remark, saying 'but it is true.'
The show aired live on the East Coast, but his remarks were edited out of the version broadcast for the West Coast, reports Latino Voices.
