Boutique Owner Sued for Fake Hermes Bags

AN owner of a boutique was charged before the Quezon City Regional Trial Court for selling fake Hermes bags worth over P8 million to one of her customers.
Charged with estafa was Kristine Marjorie dela Cruz, proprietor of Penderie Boutique located at Building 11, groundfloor 101, 18 Sct. Tuazon corner Sct. Castor, Bgy. Laging Handa, QC.
The filing of the case was based on the recommendation of Assistant City Prosecutor Ralph Michael Cataquiz after finding probable cause to indict her in court.
But in his seven-page resolution, Cataquiz dismissed the case of Dela Cruz’s co-respondents Valentin Santos, Francis Nikka Arizala, Juan Paolo Serrano and Maersk Ronquillo, as they had nothing to do with the transactions.
The case stemmed from the complaints of Yolande Sze who claimed that out of the 16 Hermes Birkin bags she purchased from Dela Cruz on several occasions, only two worth P1,480,000 were authentic.
Sze narrated that sometime in October 2012, one of her friends told her that he had chanced upon the respondent’s boutique that offers for sale of brand new designer bags.
She said she and her sister went to the said boutique where they met Dela Cruz who assured them of the genuineness of the high-end Hermes bags.
The respondent further assured her that the bags she was selling were from “main supplier,” who according to her “belongs to upper class of the society enjoying superior economic status.”
Because of said representations, Sze was induced to buy her first Hermes Birkin bag in November 2012.
The complainant and Dela Cruz made an arrangement wherein the latter would email the pictures to Sze her items for sale.
Sze then would give her checks payable to Dela Cruz, to the boutique or pay to cash, whenever she would buy the bags.
The buyer-seller relationship between the complainant and the respondent continues until sometime in the early part of third quarter of 2013. In all of those transactions, Sze was able to buy 16 pieces of Hermes Birkin bags with total amount of P9,140,000.
The complainant added that during those transactions, Dela Cruz never issued receipts to her as proof of the purchase.
But in July 2013, a friend of the complainant noticed the bag she was carrying have some signs of being fake which prompted her to consult several bag experts.
She was also forced to seek opinion from Hermes France wherein the latter had confirmed that 14 of the 16 bags she purchased from Dela Cruz were fake.
In their joint counter-affidavit, Dela Cruz and her co-respondents denied the allegations, saying it is impossible for the complainant to have purchased those bags from the boutique because during such time, the corporation did not exist.
Prosecutor Cataquiz, however, ruled that Dela Cruz defrauded complainant by delivering her the subject 14 fake Hermes bags to her prejudice in the amount of P8,595,000.

It's Just a Gratifying Experience

In any work that we do, nothing comes easy without a certain amount of sacrifice. In the entertainment industry, for example, apart from the glamour and perks of being a showbiz celebrity, comes the responsibility of having to look good. As entertainment artists who are always in the public eye, looking their best is of utmost importance.
Locally, at no other time in showbiz history have celebrities’ obsession to look good has reached its present mind-blowing proportion. The beauty business has become a multi-billion peso industry with the proliferation of beauty clinics and gym/health clubs that cater to every need from head to toe.
The craze to look good has definitely boosted the confidence of celebrities who have gone under the knife or have done major enhancements to their bodies. They reckon that it is a win-win situation as it also means more projects for them. But other than the aforementioned, a supposedly Wholesome Actress WA has really strove to look pretty and fit for very personal and “intimate” reason.
Oh well, reports have it that WA’s desire for Irresistible Actor IA is the underlying factor for her new look these days. The source revealed that WA and IA continue their secret relationship amid ugly rumors in the past that something was really going on between them. Obviously, their personal circumstances prevent them from coming out in the open.
What’s shocking is that IA who is supposed to be the epitome of a true gentleman is the one guilty of “kiss and tell“ - revealing his hot, intimate encounters with WA whom he admits to being a real expert at the game. The source further added that IA suggested to WA that it would be best if she keeps fit so that the excitement would be just perfect, to which WA follows without question. IA is just so excited to have found WA who fills the void perfectly. What a guy!

Junking A Shrewd Lady

Young Star on the Rise SR has leveled up her image the moment she stepped out of that controversial dwelling. On her latest project, a TV Series TS co-starring her with former Fellow Dweller FD, talks have it that tension is ever present on the set - not hard to believe since SR and FD had long stirred controversies when they were still together in that dwelling. Now that they’re already out of it, negative issues continue to hound them.
Heard that the silent feud doesn’t necessarily come from SR and FD themselves, but from their Closest Kins, CK1 and CK2, respectively. Reportedly, it began on the first few taping days of TS when both CK1 and CK2 are regular fixtures on the set. Needless to say, both are after the interest of their wards – in their own small ways.
But between them, insiders say it is CK2 who is more aggressive, treating everything as fierce competition between SR and FD, really? Uh oh... FD could have taken it from her then. Allegedly, CK2 would cause tension inside the tent, even going as far as comparing her ward FD's more pricey bags, gadgets, outfits with that of SR's, something that irks CK1 big time - who wouldn’t?
Now this is the height of her notoriety, CK2 reportedly went overboard as to bribe the fans with money for them to visit and give support to FD. The staff alleged that it was like making FD and CK2 “feel superior “ over SR and CK1. But not before production head put its foot down and objected to the presence of fans on the set as it only fuels the tension even more.
Latest update: As we write this article, our source revealed that tension got heated up on the set of TS as shouting match erupted between CK1 and CK2. TS director angrily sent them out!
With the way her antics are being halted, do we imagine CK1 having the last laugh? Hopefully.
