Not Sustaining Her Promise

A TV Network TN had its hands full in the months and weeks leading to a Grand Event GE for their Prized Stars PS1 and PS2. Both GE and PS camps were all agog in the preparations as they wanted it to be monumental in size and impact. Many agencies, events and advertising companies, as well as big stars were involved to add impact and glitter to the occasion.

Reportedly, not a few TN shows were bumped off and/or compromised to give way as part of preparation for GE. It was short of telling TN talents to be cooperative and drop everything for GE – and so it went.

Even media people were likewise asked to to do their part and participate in incorporating some GE details into their respective shows for added promotion. Though not everyone liked it, they had no choice but to do as told.

Respected Media Personality RP was not spared. RP was also tasked to give her lion share by including the whole of GE with PS1 and PS2 interviews in her show, obviously as part of GE promotion. Although RP was amenable to it, the notice given her was too short /rushed because everything was already laid out for taping that particular episode...meaning a set-up that did not include GE.

It was a major taping day where kids coming from faraway province were to be featured and interviewed by RP. Sadly, this had to be bumped off at the last minute, as GE/PS1 had to be accommodated first and incorporated in the show.

Consequently, RP left and cancelled the show’s taping and interview with the kids. This allegedly angered the kids’ parents who patiently waited for hours for RP. They were mad as they spent quite a sum for their fare and accommodation in Manila for RP show. The show’s staff tried to explain but the parents were inconsolable.

Reportedly, the parents stormed the tv station to complain and report RP to its management. Guess what? They only calmed down when they were assured that their expenses would be reimbursed. Uh oh, GE must be so special indeed as to merit such attention that inconvenienced not only the tv talents but ordinary people as well.

Her Prevailing Stubbornness

Expectations were quite high when Attractive Model (AM) was discovered on television. Her face was refreshing and she immediately gained several endorsements after her extensive exposure. Just as when she was making a name for herself, she bolted out of her station.

Since she started her career, the exposure of AM in the acting genre seemed to be limited. When she was still under the wings of her former manager, she was encouraged to undergo acting and other training workshops. Because she refused her former manager’s suggestions, AM has not progressed in developing her craft. AM felt that she already had the talent and workshops would just be a waste of time and resources.

Her stubbornness to take measures that can improve her skills is evident in her lackluster acting. Her recent project proved that her acting was so lame that she looked stiff compared to her screen partner’s eagerness in each of the scenes they acted together. Nonetheless, the movie did not do well at the box office and was pulled out after a couple of days. Despite her low-quality acting, AM continues to have guestings in various sitcoms of her network.

Some observers believe that AM is too overconfident. They think that her holding on to a record of some sort might have led to AM to think that much of herself. For several years, AM topped a certain contest, and towards her last reign, her comment as to not be competitive in the succeeding tally raised many reactions. Nonetheless, her attitude seems to be gearing towards a lack of passion for her craft, or she could just be too lazy to pursue anything else that would go beyond her pretty face.

Piolo Pascual Hits Face in Accident

Kapamilya actor, Piolo Pascual was rushed to St. Luke's after a bicycle accident last Thursday January 22. He was wounded after he hit the ground, face first. He was rushed to the hospital and was told that the facial injury sustained was abrasion and that there is no need for plastic surgery. The actor is now under medical supervision.

It may be recalled that Piolo figured in the same motorcycle accident in Baguio City in July 2012 where he sustained minor wounds on his right arm. Although bloodied, there was nothing serious in the said accident.
