Financially Challenged

Many years ago, Distressed Personality DP was a very in demand artist. Here and abroad, DP's mass appeal was such that every show she mounted was sure to be a major hit. She owned her fame for years and was on top of her game. Her stardom was every artist's dream and envy.
But with the influx of younger and more talented artists, slowly, DP's stars began to dim. People were hardly watching her shows. She was no longer bankable. Soon projects hardly came by. DP came to a point where she had to accept offers for shows that were once beyond her dignity, like those with very low budget which also meant very small talent fees.
Yet amidst all that, she was still able to run a small business that kept her afloat but not stable enough to maintain her lifestyle - something that DP could not afford to lose. She just loved life and her fabulous friends.
Unfortunately, but predictably, DP became very desperate for money. For someone her age, she still looked good enough for some men. Not long after, DP was allegedly being seen frequently in the company of different men, mostly prominent personalities and politicians who were much older. Ever wonder how did she make money from that?
DP's new trade must have been really lucrative because she was at it for so long. It was reportedly the reason why she became more active in her social life - she wanted to be more visible so that she could meet more people. But things could only go so far. Not long after, she was no longer as in-demand. Suffice to say, she was having financial difficulties.
DP's financial state was just so bad that when she went to a gasoline station to gas up her vehicle, she was reportedly denied when she presented her petrol membership card. Turned out, her credit on her gasoline purchases was reportedly cut-off by the company after she incurred huge credits which she failed to pay even after repeated demands to settle the same. She freaked out when told that she could no longer use the said card.
Now there are reports that in order to survive, DP is just asking for money from her grown children. More often, she borrows money from an Ex-Relationship ER who is kind enough to just write off her loans. For a long time now, she hardly went out with friends if it will only entail expenses on her part.
Where did DP go wrong? Where did her savings go? With no money and career, where do we see DP going from hereon?

Expecting Shame Campaign, Bong Revilla's Wife to Snub PNoy’s SONA

Cavite Rep. Lani Mercado said this will be the second time she will not be attending Aquino's SONA, which is scheduled July 28 at the House of Representatives' complex in Quezon City.
"I have no intention of attending. This will be the second time...," she said in an interview on dzBB radio.
On Friday, Revilla was placed under detention at the Philippine National Police Custodial Center in Camp Crame, after he surrendered to the Sandiganbayan.
Revilla faces graft and plunder charges before the anti-graft court in connection with the multibillion-peso scam.
Mercado said she and Revilla had been victims of a shame campaign by Aquino, adding Aquino is "bound to do that" in his SONA.
"Oh yes. Naging biktima na kami ng maraming [pamamahiya] and he's bound to do that," she said when asked if she expects Aquino to mention Revilla's detention.
She added Aquino shamed her husband by telling people not to believe in "anting anting" and "agimat" during a speaking engagement in Cavite, Revilla's home province.
In his speech in February, the president said the electorate should not take their chances on “agimat” or “anting-anting (amulets)” – a statement that could be construed as referring to Bong Revilla and his family.
Last Independence Day, Mercado said Aquino took a dig at showbiz workers when he claimed in his speech that the country does not need to elect people who can deliver scripts or song and dance numbers.
"Hindi natin kailangan ng magaling bumigkas ng script, mahusay sumayaw, o kaya magaling kumanta," Aquino had said in his speech.
Revilla is a movie actor and television personality, while Mercado is a former actress and television host.
Meanwhile, Mercado said she continues to pray for "true justice," saying she believes there is "selective justice" under this administration.
"Naniniwala ako may selective justice talaga," she said.

Her Smug Attitude
Sometime ago, towering beauty (TB) went to a bank to transact some financial concerns. By that time, TB had already won so much prestige for the country, and thus, recognizing her was unavoidable. As she reached the counter, TB transacted her business with the teller facing sideways. Of course, the teller did not immediately recognize TB, and had to ask shyly if TB was that beauty queen. Instead of smiling, TB retorted, “I’m in a hurry.” The teller got the message and TB left hurriedly.
Among the latest crop of models and talents who have captured the crown in beauty contest, TB was admired because of her academic achievements and self-confidence. Nonetheless, these same qualities have been pinpointed as the cause of her lack of good public relations. After all, her life did not hinge on building a career in entertainment, as she seemed bent on practicing her profession.
When showbiz knocked at her door, which was common for beauty contest winners, TB was unable to deter the media. Every so often, the media would realize that TB was tired of answering questions, and was on the point of showing irritation. During her reign, part of her private life was revealed and her love life was scrutinized. TB stood by her man, and settled down with him.
Despite her achievements, the detached attitude of TB will always pale in comparison with other contest winners who continue to nurture their ties and play along with the media and the public.
