Miss Teen Earth Philippines and Little Miss Earth Philippines Launch Its Nationwide Search and Strengthen Its Advocacy Through Project Headshot Earth
The search is on for young Filipina beauties with a purpose. Miss Teen Earth Philippines and Little Miss Earth Philippines will hold a nationwide search for girls aged four to 17 years old with the aim to promote environmental awareness and foster change. Pre-screening begins February 2014 nationwide and the grand pageant night will be happening in May 27, 2014 at SM MOA-Arena. Project Headshot Clinic and Climate Change Commission step in to strengthen the advocacy through a partnership and a headshot petition campaign called Project Earth.
Project Earth is a digital campaign that utilizes headshots as a way to promote the advocacy. Influential individuals coming from various industries are chosen to participate in this headshot clinic. These Project Earth ambassadors will be posting their digitized profile photos in their social media accounts. Tessa Prieto-Valdez, Tim Yap, Rajo Laurel, Francis Libiran, Mayor Pie Alvarez of San Vicente Palawan, Sec. Mary Ann Lucille Sering of Climate Change Commission, Elmo Magalona, Maxene Magalona, Robby Carmona, Suki Salvador, Vince Uy are just some of the selected few. From giving up meat to refraining from littering, each of these headshot recipients are to voice out how they can help inspire every earth ambassador in all of us – one small act at a time.
This digital movement is just a part of the grand plans of Miss Teen Earth Philippines and Little Miss Earth Philippines in terms of the promotion of earth’s preservation. Vas Bismark, president of Captured Dream Productions and the pageants’ trademark owner, smilingly shares that “Miss Teen Earth Philippines and Little Miss Earth Philippines are pageants with a heart.” He is positive that through the pageant and campaign, the advocacy that he believes in shall inspire more people to not only listen and take notice but also do something about it.
Project Headshot Clinic is a brainchild of photographer, Niccolo Cosme. The concept behind it is the marriage of headshots and advertising, with the belief that uploading profile photos under one theme is an effective way of piquing the curiosity of people.

Not Keeping Up With A Lie

Reports have it that before a press gathering started, GA was already annoyed and obviously not in the mood. Allegedly, she was pissed at some press people who were insistently asking questions on the topic she abhorred so much. Allegedly, the questions irked her no end knowing that there was absolutely nothing between her and BS.
Earlier on in their friendship, GA was reportedly considering BS to have as a boyfriend. It's hard to blame her for it since from all angles, BS has the looks and personality that GA supposedly wants in a guy. But her desire was so dampened by the realization that BS could not be hers, after all. That supposedly hurt GA so bad.
Her longing for him seemed to be fueled all the more by his caring and affectionate ways for her. Yet, GA knew he can never be hers.
The latest turn of events pissed GA more when she learned that BS was going out with a Cute Guy CG, someone who is close to GA, of all people. It saddened her that it had to be CG who is with BS. But those privy to her said that there was no way GA can reverse the situation and that all she has to do is accept the sad reality.
However as days passed, although hurt and disappointed, GA has allegedly accepted that she can't really have him - yet happy with the fact that she has a good friend in BS.
That’s why it really gets to her nerves every time she would be asked about her relationship with BS. The girl is just being true to herself because there is absolutely nothing…none…nada…kaput!

Malicious Actions of the Participant

Many kids of famous actors and actresses have tried to carve their own names and manage to get out of the shadow of their parents. However, more have actually failed, and have created lives apart from the fame of their parents.
Let’s take the case of the child of a famous couple (FC). Though estranged only in the last few years, FC have remained friends and still stayed as a couple longer than most showbiz marriages. While the husband and wife looked well individually, their kids, sadly, did not acquire as much genes to be as good looking as their parents. In fact, the wife is often teased as someone who has found the fountain of youth. While close to 50, her face still looks half of her actual age.
Their children have not really made their names in showbusiness and have managed to keep their lives as private as possible. While one of them hogged the headlines several years ago, no other news item has given them as much attention since then. Sometime ago, one of the kids decided to join a reality contest to test her limits. As this reality contest required a lot of discipline, much pressure is exerted on the contestants.
Sometimes, contestants go to the distance to make sure they have the advantage over other participants. Sadly, the child (TC) of FC went to this direction. The production team caught TC allegedly putting MSG in the food of her competition, and the nature of the reality show says such practice is not acceptable. Besides, MSG can increase one’s appetite, which places the contestants at a disadvantage. Thus, TC was immediately removed from the reality show.

Philippines Ranked 5th in the Top 10 Most Gender Equal Countries in the World

The report ranks 136 countries on their ability to close the gender gap – making sure women are not held back – in four key areas: health and survival, education, politics and economic equality.
1. Iceland holds the top spot for the fifth consecutive year, continuing to boast the narrowest gender gap in the world. Iceland’s overall score moves up due to improvements in economic participation and opportunity, as well as political empowerment.
2. Finland continues to hold the second position despite slight losses in its overall score due to a decrease in economic opportunity and participation.
3. Norway follows next, with a light increase in its overall score. Norway has just appointed a female prime minister, Erna Solberg, and is also one of the top 10 countries for the number of years during which it has had a female head of state.
3. Norway follows next, with a light increase in its overall score. Norway has just appointed a female prime minister, Erna Solberg, and is also one of the top 10 countries for the number of years during which it has had a female head of state.
4. Sweden continues to hold the fourth position. Although no country has yet achieved gender equality, all of the Nordic countries, with the exception of Denmark, have closed over 80% of the gender gap. On the whole, these economies have made it possible for parents to combine work and family, resulting in more women in the workforce, shared childcare and a better work-life balance for both women and men.
5. The Philippines moves up three places this year due to small improvements in economic participation and opportunity. The highest-ranking country from Asia, Philippines is 10th overall for political empowerment and is the only country in Asia and the Pacific to have fully closed the gender gap in both education and health.
6. Ireland slipped one place this year due to losses in economic participation and opportunity, though it remains the highest European country outside the group of Nordic economies.
7. New Zealand moved down one place, mainly due to a decrease in wages women are paid for doing similar work to men.
8. Denmark lost one place in the overall ranking this year despite an improvement in political empowerment.
9. Switzerland moved up one spot due to increases in women’s salaries.
10. Nicaragua continues to be the only country from Latin America and the Caribbean in the top 10 overall best performers.
