True Love

Love hit Struggling Gentleman (SG) hard. SG realized his feelings for his Love Interest (LI) were not requited. SG and LI used to spend time with each other, exchange messages, or call each other almost every day. By contrast, communication had been seldom if none lately. SG’s messages were left at seen status and waiting for a response seemed futile. The pandemic made seeing each other difficult.

LI’s excuses centered on her work and commitments. However, SG wondered why LI made time for events that made him look awkward when it came to life decisions. SG is the unannounced boyfriend. The decision to keep their alleged relationship private was the request of LI. SG respected that decision. Hence, the articulated thinking of LI made SG feel lost as far as his status in LI’s life was concerned.

Meanwhile, SG was not about to give up easily. He expressed willingness to sacrifice his showbiz career if that would appease LI. The problem was that SG’s fallback was not strong. His college course was not popular in the job market. Worse, SG’s embarrassed to approach his family for work. Nonetheless, his love for LI is immense and he would gladly do anything to win her over constantly.

Own Decision

Regardless of being at the right age, parents often still have a say in the relationship of their children. Even if the child is an adult and provides financial stability to the family, as long as the relationship is thought as taboo, he/she will never hear the end of it.

Whenever Lovestruck Talent (LT) would send money to her parents, they would ask how she is doing. After all, LT is based in the city while the rest of the family lives far. LT would respond with short answers and give excuses such as needing to rush to go to work. Thus, LT’s parents trusted her answers. They understood that LT has many commitments and without them, she’ll lose work.

The day came when her folks and other relatives were shocked to read about LT and Her Man (HM). The parents were not aware LT’s relationship status until that moment. They could not get a direct answer from LT during their phone conversations. So, they asked Someone Close (SC) about LT’s life choices. SC revealed details about HM, and the parents were surprised. What hit them most was learning that LT spent a lot of time in the home of HM.

The behavior of LT was too much for the conservative folks. Allegedly, one had to be brought to the hospital due to an alarming blood pressure reading. When LT was informed of the incident, she replied that they should calm down and not treat her relationship as a big deal. She is, after all, in the city and living with a boyfriend is acceptable. When a parent attempted to answer, LT gave an uncalled-for reply. LT reminded them that as long as she sends money, they should not worry. Besides, she’s at an age where she can make sound decisions.

Incidentally, LT asked SC to go on vacation, as she could not stand the meddling and gossiping about her love life. Even blood relations no longer matter when secrets are revealed.

The idea was to pair off Venturing Actress (VA) with Engrossing Partner (EP) to regain focus on their loveteam. VA was interested and she has been wanting to try to be very close with EP. After all, EP was the one who got away. When they first worked together, the time was limited and encounters were strictly for business. VA was unable to make her moves despite the charm exuded by EP. The proposal seemed exciting.

Reality made VA think of the proposal. VA sensed their project would fail because EP was receiving unwanted attention from Another Talent (AT). Thus, if the project were given a love angle, VA feared the entry of AT would greatly affect the outcome. EP’s handlers said they’ll look into the matter. When they saw the range of attention, they said they will take advantage of it.

Thinking of EP’s fanbase, his handlers attempted to stir interest. However, the expectation was opposite and EP’s image was tarnished. Instead of their anticipated result, a chain reaction ensued. However, the moment did not last long enough.

VA witnessed what happened and realized the possible impact on her status. The slightest negative news can be blown out of proportion in the case of VA. VA cannot risk such situation, as future projects are in the offing. Celebrities are only as good as their last projects and VA knows that adage well. Finally, she called up the handlers and informed them that her schedule is full and she’s bowing out of the project. She added that she does not want to be involved in future non-project issues concerning EP.

Firm Decision

The moment Cynical Actor (CA) saw the gifts on the table, his head filled not with excitement, but with a glaring question. CA wondered how The Sender (TS) found out their address. CA left strict instructions not to reveal their whereabouts, as he wants to keep their life strictly private and access to them limited only to people with whom he has good standing.

The apprehension in knowing their precise location stems from CA’s fear of having unwanted people who might behave unceremoniously upon seeing them. However, CA was calmed down with the assurance coming from Hopeful Woman (HW). HW admitted to exchanging messages with TS. CA was shocked as HW had not mentioned anything about what she was doing. Despite the tension, CA controlled his feelings and stopped a possible outburst. HW was looking forward to having good relations with TS, but CA thinks it’s all fake. CA would better appreciate the idea if TS went to him directly.

The following day, HW prepared food, which came from the gifts. CA ignored the dishes and asked the help to prepare something else for him. When CA left, HW was distraught and cried. Nonetheless, whenever TS asked how HW is, the response is always positive. TS is happy that HW is happy, but as far as CA is concerned, earning his good side might be far away.

Friends of Nonchalant Dude (ND) are worried at how his personal relationship is evolving. The strong presence of Influential Personality (IP) might not be good for his financial standing in the long run. ND and IP developed a bond when ND was in a troubling time of his life. IP was there for support and soon, the opportunity came.

Over the years, ND managed to handle his finances well and place his money in investments that mattered to him. Despite his achievements, IP advised ND he needed someone, like a financial adviser, to consolidate his assets. Who else could that be? IP presented a track record of handling someone’s finances that resulted in that person’s owning a home. ND was convinced.

First, IP decided to manage the operations of a place dear to ND. The staff are not happy whenever IP comes over with her family. Instead of running the place, IP seems to be on vacation with the staff at her beck and call. Some tasks are not even in their job description and IP does not leave tips nor pay for accommodations. Second, IP has recommended monetizing another investment of ND. The recommendation involves imposing membership fees. Friends of ND who are regulars will not be spared. After all, utilities have to be paid and friendships will not be able to answer for costs. Even if the friends regularly chip in for maintenance, IP wants a uniform amount to be billed.

When ND talked to his friends who helped him in that investment, they had mixed reactions. These friends were already with ND prior to the entry of IP. A Close Friend (CF) of ND knew the background of IP and warned ND about letting IP handle his finances. CF has insider information of how IP allegedly milked a wealthy relative. Allegedly, IP even suggested to ND to allow her to handle his main source of bread and butter when his current obligations are done.
