Escaping the Commotion

Although celebrities might think they are well-loved and will be free from harm, they often hire security personnel to ensure their safety. For instance, some drivers serve as bodyguards as well and they usually ensure crowd control in case fans get too close to their bosses. These days, fans can be unruly and even inflict hard pinches or plant kisses without regard for their idol. Thus, a bodyguard would be an important addition to the staff.

These days, friends of Celebrity Politician (CP) are wondering about a rumor that has singled him out. The question of why would anyone want to harm CP comes in mind. CP comes from a family of known personalities. Despite having an established name, CP strived on his own and built his reputation. After a successful run in showbiz, he went to the predictable path of entering politics, thinking he would be able to reach out to more people.

Star power propelled CP to his desired position and soon, he was recognized for his achievements in the political arena. Even if he was already in a different world, he kept his close ties with the showbiz industry. Other than his loyal fans and showbiz friends, he has earned support from constituents and ordinary citizens from all over the county.

Although he took a break from government service and showbiz, CP continued with his life and explored other options. While he might not be in the news as often these days, he might suddenly find himself back in the limelight again with another controversy.

Despite staying out of the public’s watchful eye, rumors have it that he should think of beefing up his security personnel. His seeming quiet and uneventful life might change once media and authorities verify the rumor that he or a family member was supposed to be a target. As to why assailants want to inflict damage to CP or someone close to him remains a mystery.

Assuming Gesture

Being the first to establish a milestone in a certain social media platform does not mean one will always be ahead of the pack. Once other netizens observe that social media has transformed a nobody into a sensation, they will imitate and improve on that concept. Thus, competition becomes harder and social media personalities have to find ways to keep and increase their viewership or else, lose revenues coming from clicks and likes.

When Insecure Personality (IP) realized that her field was becoming narrow with the entry of more famous and likeable celebrities, she thought of a concept that would ensure her belonging to the more popular choices. What worried IP was that the new entrants amassed many followers in such a short period. Thus, chances are more people would watch those new entrants and might forget about her posts.

Finally, IP thought that by involving ordinary people in her videos, she would create impact. This time, she stationed herself in a mall that is frequently by people from all walks of life. When she started, no mallgoer minded her, as she looked ordinary. Then, she started approaching and interviewing random people. With the noise she was creating, people started to notice her.

IP started to extend her hand to shake hands with people. However, IP had not yet gone far when she started pouring alcohol on her palms, rubbing hand sanitizer, and spraying perfume on her hand. It gave the impression that IP did not like the smell of where she was.

As IP made her way, many mallgoers avoided her, especially the ones who saw her actions after shaking hands. Given that no one seems to be interested, IP proceeded to the food court and suddenly interviewed an Older Woman (OW). OW was not in the mood and ranted that IP should ask permission first before taking videos and interviewing. Furthermore, not everyone gets excited at seeing celebrities. IP had to apologize and move on.

After a few minutes, IP bumped into a group of students and she once again extended her hand. Before she could shake hands, one of the students poured alcohol on IP’s hand. IP was shocked, but learned that the same group of students saw her actions earlier. Thus, after shaking hands, IP kidded about how virus-conscious mallgoers are.
