When Competent Actress (CA) was offered to do a movie, her question was why she had to work with certain people. CA was hinting that she did not feel the cast was strong enough and thus, a change was needed in the line-up. Apparently, CA pointed out that Lead Actor 1 (LA1) has not had movies that earned well at the box-office. The thought of working with someone who has a flop reputation did not sit well with CA.
To appease CA, the production team dropped LA1 and hired Lead Actor 2 (LA2). LA2 was hot and had last project that performed more than expectations. Thus, with LA2, the chances of scoring a huge hit was more prominent than having LA1. After LA1 was dropped, he did not make a big deal out of losing the role and perhaps thought the decision was really a management prerogative.
The said project was filmed smoothly and turned out to be a well-acted one. After all, toe to toe, LA2 was the better actor than LA1. High hopes were pinned when the project was shown to the public. Although the project was praised by critics, the number of moviegoers was way below expectations, especially given the caliber of CA and LA2. The production team could only gasp at the shocking outcome.
News travelled fast and LA1 found out about the sad state of CA’s project. Instead of sympathizing, LA1 laugh and could not help recall that CA had him changed because he was a ‘flop king.’ So, now, LA1 is saying that the outcome was really bad karma on CA’s part. For now, as far as LA1 is concerned, CA is the ‘flop queen.’
