Making Embarrassing Assumptions

To avoid unwanted attention, celebrities have become critical of their choice of restaurants where they should eat or unwind. Usually, these places are in hotels, high-end malls, out-of-town, or even in venues catering to private dinners. Different sets of people are the usual patrons, specifically, only those who have the money or connections can experience such perks. Thus, celebrities are assured that they will have no fans coming from all walks of life who will disturb their eating for selfies.

One time, Network Celebrity (NC) and His Partner (HP) were in a fine dining restaurant and having one of those romantic dates. HP then told NC that Another Diner (AD) behind him was holding up a mobile device at her direction. NC said that HP should not mind AD, as he might just be admiring her beauty and wanting a souvenir. Besides, they’re a celebrity couple who are not at all hiding their relationship.

After a few minutes, HP told NC to that she was feeling uneasy, as she is confident that AD is taking photos of her. She asked NC if they could just move tables. Sensing that HP will not stop, NC stood up and went to where AD was seated.

NC nicely asked AD if he could put down his device, as HP was already uncomfortable. Surprised, AD replied that he was not aiming his camera at HP, but at the couple next to their table. According to AD, he was taking photos of a male diner, who happens to be his sister’s long-time boyfriend, and a female diner, who is not his sister. AD is suspecting his sister is being treated like a fool and now he was documenting evidence. NC could only smile when he heard the story.

However, AD was not yet done with his bit of talk. He further added that he does not even know who HP is and he does not care at all. Further, looking at NC, AD said that he is not even interested in HP, as his eyes and heart are focused on the cute guy who was seated next to him at that moment.

NC was caught off-guard at the last line and he apologized for the wrong assumption. When he returned to their table, he explained to HP what AD was doing. His mood had already changed, as he was embarrassed. Thus, they ate a bit faster and left in a hurry,

Actor Gabby Concepcion, Gabriel Arellano Concepcion in real life, is facing falsification of public documents case filed by his younger brother, Miguel Concepcion, for the alleged fraudulent sale of an 890-sqm lot owned by their mother in San Juan City.

Tyrone Cimafranca, lawyer of Miguel, said Mrs. Maria Lourdes Concepcion Arellano could not have sold the piece of land located at 3736 P. Guevarra St., in Barangay Addition Hills for P4.45 million for she was out of the country when it was notarized.

“Their mother was in the United States and could not have signed the documents nor appeared infront of the notary public as stated in the acknowledgement page submitted to the Land Registration Authority (LRA),” the lawyer told reporters.

Cimafranca said they submitted copies of Mrs. Concepcion’s passport, showing her departure and arrival in the country from the US during their appearance before the Criminal Investigation and Detective Group—National Capital Region (CIDG-NCR).

While the signatories in the sale of the land were residents of San Juan, the notarization was done in Tagaytay City, and the one who notarized the document was not listed in the registry of attorney’s of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP), the lawyer pointed out.

Miguel said he learned of the transfer of the ownership of the land to his elder brother upon his return to the country two months ago after retiring from his work in the US.

It was learned that a school is presently renting the lot and its buildings.

The younger brother of the actor said he tried to reach out with Gabby, yet, he ignored him.
