Repost: 'Descendants of the Sun’ Stars Song Joong-ki, Song Hye-kyo to Wed in October

South Korean actor Song Joong-ki and actress Song Hye-kyo, who had repeatedly denied rumors they were dating, announced Wednesday through a joint statement written from their management agencies that they are to wed on Oct. 31.
Blossom Entertainment and UAA confirmed the reports in an early morning announcement.
“Since marriage is also between families — as well as between individuals — they had to be careful. … The two had to be cautious (about their relationship) until it bore fruit in matrimony,” the agencies said.
The star actors met as a fictional couple in the smash-hit TV series “Descendants of the Sun,” with the groom-to-be playing a heartthrob military captain and his future bride taking on the role of a doctor and his love interest.
The two shared the grand prize at the KBS Drama Awards last year, as well as the award for best couple.
“Descendants of the Sun,” a series about life surrounding the barracks, proved popular within and beyond Korea in what has been dubbed “Taehoo (an acronym from the show’s Korean title) syndrome.”
Rumors the Songs were dating subsequently surfaced, fueled by reports of the two being seen together in New York. While they claimed it was mere coincidence, other reports of the couple being seen together also popped up.
Song Joong-ki, 32, debuted in 2008 and blossomed to stardom in 2010’s “Sungkyunkwan Scandal” before hitting it out of the park with his work in “Descendants of the Sun.”
Song Hye-kyo, three years his senior, debuted in 1996 as a model before expanding her range to acting. She left a lasting impression on the public through her gig in ‘90s hit sitcom “Soongpoong Clinic,” and has appeared in a number of hit TV dramas, including “Full House” and “Hwang Jin Yi.”

A New Love
Other than his own bashers, IC has extended his being a gentleman to defending his Present Love (PL) from criticism and any negativity. Unfortunately, PL seems to be a magnet for negativity, where any action she does will invite bad comments. It’s like she could not do anything right, which is a matter of perception, of course.
Meanwhile, while IC is busy beating up the bashers in social media, Significant Star (SS) laments that she has to be dragged into the picture. Many netizens would often link SS to PL, even though the former has already distanced herself from the couple. As she had accepted that love is not lovelier the second time around, SS has let go and is quite content with what she has now. However, she cannot seem to figure out why she cannot find peace and quiet when it comes to being linked to PL.
SS can only sigh over the past when she would cover up for IC even though she would suffer from alleged verbal and physical abuse. The way IC is treating PL is so different from the way IC was with SS. Everything is done and over, anyway. For now, SS is also comparing IC with Determined Guy (DG). DG, unlike IC, is always ready to defend SS from any negative comment in social media. Moreover, DG is not shy in expressing his feelings publicly for SS. In a way, SS is far more secure with DG than she had been with IC.
