When Popular Talent (PT) and Dashing Celebrity (DC) were given a highly anticipated project, much was expected in all aspects of a teleserye. The fans have to be convinced to watch PT and DC on the small screen every day, and that means having a teleserye that has to cut across a range of viewers comprising millennials, Gen X-ers, and baby boomers. Such is the following of the pair. The management was on high gear when the project was first broached.
Fast forwarding to the airing date, the start was too slow and was not as anticipated. Days and weeks passed, still, the project has yet to make a stellar movement in the rating game. However, the project itself is not a financial disaster given its fully loaded air time of commercials. An objective evaluation was taken of the circumstances, and problems were slowly identified and attempted to be solved.
PT was noticed to be out of focus during taping, which had to be called out, as she seemed to be lost at the importance of the project. PT was noticed to be always on her mobile in between takes and seemed to be highly entertained while taking her calls. Thus, instead of using the lull time to rehearse prior to taping, PT was too busy talking to Mystery Person (MP) on the phone. Such action prompted an inquiry, as PT is expected to only have eyes for DC on and off cam. As they were already together, the identity of MP remained on hold until the investigation revealed who he was.
When the Big Boss (BB) found out about the behavior of PT, she immediately called her and gave talked to her. BB reminded PT that everything she has been working hard for and has sacrificed for as well could be gone once fans realize that there was someone else other than DC. Fans are sensitive whenever a third party enters the picture. Then, BB met up with Network Executive (NE) and told him to tell MP to lay off PT. After all, MP’s career can be ruined once fans find out he seems to be acting like he wants to get PT away from DC. Becoming unpopular with viewers can truly wreck one’s career. At this point in his career, MP has never run out of projects coming from the network because of his wit and timing.
PT had no choice, but to follow BB. After all, she is finally doing what she has always wanted to do. However, try as she might to make her partnership with DC real, she can never get it out of her head that DC might not be interested in her, as he has a different preference. Nonetheless, forgetting their true likes, PT and DC have to continue the illusion that love between them is as fresh as a daisy.
