Sarah Lahbati believes Richard Gutierrez will be able to get through the tax evasion complaint he is currently embroiled in.
Lahbati is Gutierrez’s girlfriend and the mother of his three-year-old son Zion.
“I don’t know anything about the issue. Honestly, if that’s the case, I know that he will settle it. We’ve been busy. We’ve been travelling. I know that he will settle it soon. Maybe you should ask him because that’s not my issue,” she told ABS-CBN News and other reporters.
What Lahbati is sure of is the fact that their whole family will be behind Gutierrez in dealing with this ordeal.
“I’ll always be there for him no matter what issue he goes through. I don’t think this is something to worry about especially dito sa Pilipinas, laging pinapalaki yung issue when wala namang issue. I know that he will settle this soon,” she said.
Last Friday, the Bureau of Internal Revenue said it filed a P38.57-million tax complaint against Gutierrez and his production company.
Gutierrez, 33, allegedly underdeclared P39.6 million in sales in 2012. His company, R Gutz, also failed to file an annual income tax return and two quarterly value added tax returns during the same year, the BIR said in a statement.
The actor's mother, Annabelle Rama, dismissed the tax case as "harassment." Rama said her son could prove that he filed tax returns properly.
On the other hand, the family's lawyer, Atty. Marie Glen Abraham-Garduque, said the actor has yet to receive a copy of the BIR complaint.
"He (Gutierrez) will answer at the proper forum as soon as he receives it," Abraham-Garduque said.

So Much Real
One gauge of impressive acting is the ability of actors to convince the audience of the authenticity of their roles. Thus, actors apply various methods to assume their characters. Some actors go as far as living like their characters even after cameras have stopped rolling. They even retain the look and certain habits that are assumed to go with the fictional role.
Apparently, the idea of uniting the self with the role might be being taken too far in the case of Tough Actress (TA) and Comebacking Personality (CP). People have noticed that the two are seemingly trying to outdo each other. Instead of supporting each other, the two are so into their characters that people fear they might carry over their roles in real life.
As TA and CP play lead and rival roles, they might become just that in real life. After all, they really have nothing in common except for having worked in the same network. In one of their confrontation scenes, the delivery of the dialogue as well as the action demanded by the scenes was intense. When the scene ended, slight swelling was noticed on the face of CP, as TA also got carried away.
As the scenes of their project are requiring more intense acting, the two are preparing for their roles to make sure that neither could overpower each one. Hence, viewers can expect more competitive acting as well as ways for TA and CP to make sure they keep the ratings high. Compared with each other, it is TA that has more to prove than CP.
