Just Pride
Showbiz newbies have to be guided closely by their advisers and constantly reminded that one successful project is not an automatic guarantee of continuous offers. Right attitude, humility, and perseverance are values that anyone who wants to succeed in the business must possess. Sadly, out of the so many newbies networks have given breaks to, only a few recognize the reality that they should work harder than their previous endeavor to reach their goal.
When Newbie Actor (NA) was given a minor role in a project, little did he know that he would suddenly gain fame that he has always wanted. His minor role was expanded and until the end of the project, NA’s character was seen. Thus, after his appearance, fans clamored for him to work with Pretty Performer (PP). While their loveteam seemed to have potential, their project was not as successful as had been expected. Nonetheless, fans still wanted NA and PP together. However, Talented Boy (TB) entered the picture and NA was dropped out of the picture.
As the network saw that NA could be built up into a reliable talent, he was given offers. For newbies, such offers are important because these opportunities provide exposure and experience with respected directors and actors. Unfortunately, NA had drowned in a glass of water, as the cliché goes. NA no longer wanted to play supporting roles, as he only wanted major or leading man roles in his projects. However, instead of working hard when given a role, his attitude was undesirable. NA would allegedly come late, and thus, his co-stars would have to wait. Everyone in the production knows that delays not only irritate the team, as such also have corresponding expenditure. Then, in one guesting with an Upcoming Contemporary (UC), NA did not cooperate. In short, NA was becoming a headache of the network.
No one is indispensable, and NA, who hardly has made impact as a talent, had risked his career with his proud attitude. When the Big Boss (BB) listened to the feedback of the production, BB instructed the team not to give NA any project, as his delays are not good for any production.
The effect of having no project hit NA hard. From a breadwinner, he suddenly could not find money to support his family as well as his Alleged Girlfriend (AG). Savings were nil, as he spent like there was no tomorrow when he still had projects. With no one to turn to, NA had to make himself available for booking. He set his price at a five-digit figure, but he had so many conditions, such as no kissing and just one round of orals on him. No one took his offer, even though there are so many rich clients around. NA had no choice but to slash his asking price to less than half of what he had initially offered. If NA does not shape up, he will definitely lose everything he had dreamed of, and he might even lose AG, who happens to be doing impressively in her non-showbiz career.
