A Vicious Reaction

During the time Senior Actress (SA) started her career in the entertainment industry, she was already controversial. Although the digital age was far from sight at then, SA managed to figure in issues that were of extreme sides. On the one hand, she was admired for bringing in freshness to an otherwise dull industry that was trying to transition into modern times while under the control of same old hosts, whose careers have been spanning for decades. On the other hand, she was also met with raised eyebrows are she became infamous; no thanks to an overzealous partner who made sure everything was documented.

Despite intrigues, SA managed to rise above the mud slung at her. She continued with her career until the day she decided to try the quiet life. Once in a while, she would emerge from retirement to make a film or two. These rare instances were always welcomed by her fans, as these projects meant that she was drawn out to act again because of good material or an excellent cast. However, it would take years before SA decided to give up the quietness of her settled life.

Fast forward to years after her comeback, SA shocked the entertainment scene when she decided to sign up with a project. The network took a risk, but curiosity prevailed, and SA was again back in the limelight. The projects came one after the other, and thus, interest in what more she could over reverberated in all corners of the industry.

Unlike her contemporaries, SA learned to adapt to the age of social media, and once she got entangled into an issue, she learned to fire back. Using her social media account, SA aired her gripes. Nonetheless, that did not solve any problem, but only alerted netizens that controversy hounded her latest project. Obviously, SA had learned to speak her mind, an attitude that her colleagues realized. What they also noticed was that SA reacted too often, at times, and they felt that SA was just posting to give the impression that she is all-knowing or is opinionated.

Despite her other unpublicized acts of generosity, some of her colleagues have remained cynical on her opinions on societal issues. They even poked fun at SA because it seems that she just wanted the exposure. Some even went to describe her as someone who was just seeking media mileage and nothing more. Sadly, she might not even be aware that she is being mocked by her colleagues for voicing out her opinion.

Repost: John Lloyd Cruz Happy with Relationship with 'Bestfriend' Angelica Panganiban

Even after they parted ways as a couple several months back, John Lloyd Cruz said he will always consider Angelica Panganiban his best friend.

The two were spotted backstage during the ABS-CBN Christmas special on Tuesday and they seem to get along well for exes.

“If anything, siyempre we don’t want to lose the friendship. Si Angelica has been my best friend and I think she will remain my best friend for life. Walang makakapagpabago noon,” he said.

When asked if a reconciliation is possible between them, Cruz only said: “Let’s not get ahead of ourselves right now. This is not the best time to talk about that.”

Since he is not committed to anyone at the moment, Cruz said he is trying to make the most out of his life as a private person and as an actor.

“It’s not about being single. It’s all about enlightenment para sa akin. It’s all about new discoveries about yourself, your life, kung ano ang gusto mangyari. You only live once and I definitely want to make the most of it. Kung ano man ang pagdadaanan nating journey, it’s all going to be worth it for sure,” he said.

Last month, Panganiban said she and Cruz are happy although they are not together and that’s more than enough for the both of them.

“Siguro ang masasabi ko lang ay masaya ako ngayon and masaya siya. Magkaibigan kami at alam nating lahat na halos imposible sa dalawang tao na nagkaroon ng relasyon ang maging magkaibigan in the end,” she said at the time.

“Siguro isa 'yun sa mga bagay na proud kami dahil kahit gaano kahirap -- may struggle siyempre sa umpisa kung paano ma-maintain 'yung friendship -- pero tulad nga ng sinabi natin, nagmahalan kayo dati. Bakit naman kailangang mauwi sa away?” she added.

It was last March when Cruz confirmed his split with Panganiban after being in a relationship for more than three years.
