Acting Properly in Public

Dashing TV Actor (DT) was seen having lunch with his friends at a restaurant somewhere south of Manila. While DT may not be as big as the other actors in his station, he is still recognizable because he has a following. He has a fanbase for his successful loveteam, and some critics have noted his acting and have branded him as an actor to watch out for. Besides, his teleseryes often performed beyond expectations and would last at least two or more seasons. Considering how networks have been keen on shortening the lifespan of soap operas to within a few weeks or even less than a season, DT’s feat is already good enough for his current stature.

What bothered the source was where DT sat and how his company behaved. He sat with his back turned away from the glass door, which gave the impression that DT did not want to be noticed. In addition, DT was in the company of a few very animated companions. The companions loudly spoke, and thus, other diners were privy to their conversations. The conversations talked about going on a trip to a nearby gambling country, among others. The loud actions of the companions seemed inappropriate for the image of DT, who is being honed as the next mild-mannered boy-next-door actor by his network.

As DT is public property, his friends must also consider that DT might be associated with their behavior. For instance, DT seemed comfortable with his flamboyant gay friends at the restaurant. Consequently, the source wondered if the saying, “Birds of the same feather flock together,” were true in the case with DT.
