Considerate Gesture

When shows started airing some time ago, TP1 was getting anxious as he had not received any word if he would be considered as a performer. Appearance would mean compensation, which could help TP1. Like many personalities, TP1 was unable to prepare for the pandemic. His savings were lessening by the day and a call slip would be most welcomed.
As he could not stand the waiting and seeing TP2 regularly performing, TP1 called a producer to request if he could at least be included in the show. He needed to make a living after all. Unfortunately, the response was that only artists who have contracts with the network are prioritized. However, he was given the opportunity to perform.
After his performance, TP1 was informed that his next appearance would be after two weeks. TP1 requested to be allowed to perform immediately in the next show, as he needed to pay his dues. His request goes against the agreement and the producer could not give an affirmative answer.
Unknown to TP1, TP2 learned about his request. TP2 then told the producer that he would be willing to give his slot to TP1. TP1 heard the suggestion of TP2 and he could not believe what TP2 said. Out of pride, TP1 then recanted his request and said he would just wait for the call. TP2 responded that he would not mind giving up his slot for TP1 and he would use the time to spend with his family. TP1 was shocked and smiled at TP2, and thanked his erstwhile rival in various bookings.

Sometime ago, Influential Insider (II) fought for the status of Actress Model (AM) in the network. AM’s projects were not living up to expectations and usually, talents whose projects have not delivered are placed in the freezer. However, II believed in AM’s potential and that she should stay with their team. Thus, despite her below-par projects, II would have roles any talent would hope to have. Simply put, AM had a very strong backer in II.
As time passed, everything changed and this time, the network hoped for support, especially from their talents who can easily reach millions because of their fan base. AM was counted to be one of them. However, AM remained unresponsive.
Subsequently, II talked to AM, who expressed her sadness at the turn of events. AM added that she felt her voicing out an opinion would no longer matter, as the decision has been made final. AM also did not want to dabble in anything political and her social media accounts were devoted to other concerns. II responded that she understood AM’s stand, although she was heartbroken while listening to AM. After II fought for her, AM would just prefer to be uninvolved.
The gist of the conversation of II and AM reached Furious Celebrity (FC), who was infuriated at such attitude shown by AM. FC then used her social media advantage to call out the talents of the network whose silence proved their being ungrateful to the network who made them.
FC’s tirades did not fall on deaf ears, as the likes of AM responded with their statements to express support. Sadly, AM’s statement was read as lacking sincerity and posted only for show.

During the height of the call for participation of celebrities in rallies supporting press freedom and a network, non-celebrity followers noted the artists who had remained silent. Many of these artists achieved their status because of the support of the network and thus, their keeping quiet was deemed as an ungrateful act. Soon enough, several artists who were called out started posting their support and joining the prayers and rallies.
One Celebrity (OC) was eager to show her support for her network. The network had not forgotten OC, who is always included in the list of talents. Moreover, talents were encouraged to voice out their support as well. A Production Head (PH) approached OC for her support given her fanbase. OC gave an affirmative answer but she had to talk to Important Person (IP) first.
As OC explained what she wanted to do, IP refused to heed her. IP allegedly told OC that she should not meddle in the issue and let the other talents take care of participating. While IP felt sorry for the employees, he does not want to earn the ire of government officials for OC’s actions. OC followed IP and remained silent. However, the public grew noisier in calling out celebrities and the bashing followed.
The management of OC realized the effects of keeping quiet, especially repercussions on celebrity endorsements. Without the network, endorsements would not have a venue for visibility. Consequently, endorsers would not have sources of income. The go signal for statements was given and OC wrote hers. The draft did not pass IP as he felt the words would hurt the government. He then allegedly revised OC’s statement and said that was her first and last. IP banned her from joining rallies and stressed that the statement was enough.
When the production learned what transpired between OC and IP, sadness was inevitable. PH has known OC throughout her career and acting independently remains elusive for the talent.
