The Absolute Plane Ride

HH is one of the very few who is so physically blessed. To say that he is every girl's fantasy is an understatement, as he is more than that. His physical assets are every girls' (and gays') desire and any man's envy. His sex appeal is overwhelming for someone his age. On the other hand, CS who is also good looking doesn't command such impact among her peers. Controversial CS is known to be a flirty one and is often a magnet for negative rumors.
On the plane going to their promo tour, all the stars and entourage were seated in one section. HH stood up and quietly went to the toilet to relieve himself. Unknown to him, just a few minutes after, CS followed him. She knocked on the door and forced herself inside where HH was. They were inside for a good several minutes. After which, HH came out to go to his seat, then soon after CS emerged next and went back to her seat also as if nothing happened. But unbeknownst to both, a flight attendant was an eyewitness to what happened between them. You bet, flight attendants are often silent witnesses to every stars' quirks and turns.
Moral of the story: Before hitting it off during public transit, be sure to fully shut the door for security and "privacy."

Is it Their Fate?
Although he has lots of flamboyant friends, PF is but unlike them. The notoriously elusive is quite successful at dodging the public eye. Such that his many extra curricular activities are rarely publicly known.
PF maintains a "kingdom" where he and he alone is king. In there, he gets to do whatever he wants, far from the madding crowd. But of course, the king gets sad when he is alone. Therefore, he needs company every now and then. Frequently, beautiful faces are seen going in and out of the kingdom. And why not? The man's generosity is bottomless. Name it, they all kowtow to him - showbiz personalities, notably those has-beens who have no projects, a media personality (believe it or not), and some other members of the industry, both popular and not.
One day, this "has been" performer HP arrived at the kingdom. She went upstairs of the huge mansion. After spending a few hours there, she went by the stairs holding in her hand what looked like a paper bag full of cash (transactions are always done in cash). As she was descending the stairs to leave, she saw a familiar-looking television personality TP at the foot of the stairs who was about to go up. Their eyes met -- and the sight of each other obviously shocked them... in a major way. Both must have felt disabled for awhile for they wouldn't know whether to continue negotiating the stairs -- or just totally vanish and forget they ever met.
Do you know them all?

From Fab to Fraud

When we hear of people who are what you call "uninitiated" getting duped big time, we will understand why. But when it is the trained and the more educated one becoming the victim, we will ask why. Just what makes us get attracted so fast to get-rich-quick schemes?
Seems like we will never tire listening to sweet-talking scammers playing all sorts of tricks to make us surrender our gullibility. The flowery stories hypnotize us enough to think that they will be the be all and end all towards our financial dreams.
Unknown to most, there's mouthful of whispers going around within the social circles about a new entry to the scammer club.
A hairstylist HS and salon owner catering to the well-heeled might be hitting the headlines very soon. HS' salon is located in some flashy address in the metro. He is very popular with the affluent, and why not? His fee per haircut alone is one of Manila's priciest in this part of the district. But owing to HS background and vast training in his field, many say that his professional fee is definitely worth it.
HS lured friends and some of his salon clients FC to invest close to a million per person in his company. The amount would qualify the investor to an equivalent share in his salon business.

And so time went by, FC waited months without getting anything from HS' maturing obligations. But being his friends and long time clients, FC gave him the benefit of the doubt, and still trusted that he would pay up sooner than later. After all, his salon business is one that you would call booming and solid. So they waited.
And how long have they waited? FC suddenly realized they were not getting their end of the bargain. For 3 straight years, they were not given any dividend from their investments. No nothing, nada, kaput. They kept going back to HS for follow up. In desperation, others just wanted their money back, but they could not. Everytime he was face to face with them, HS always gave his investors the run around.
Finally, the investors decided to file syndicated estafa against their erstwhile friend. Everyone is in a quandary if they will still be able to recover his/her investment. And from the looks of it, it is going to be a tough fight. And a tough luck it will be for HS, too.
As it has been repeated thousands of times, if it looks too good to be true, then it probably is.

Letter from a Reader: The Funnyman Isn't Funny
Dear Fashion PULIS,
I am writing to you to express my disgust towards a celebrity funnyman, FM's unkind and very inconsiderate treatment of our old people who were his avid fans.
On the eve of FM’s concert in our province, my friend F, a vocalist in a band playing at a local bar and restaurant BR, sent me an SMS that there would be a “Meet and Greet with FM” at that restaurant. F's mom, mommy M, was coming to see in person this popular comedian and host, together with her senior citizen friend, mommy S. Both women went travelling a good 50+ kilometers to get to the venue. The old women dropped everything for that day, and readied their camera for their idol FM.
I was curious of FM, too, as everyone finds him hilarious and funny. I’ve watched him occasionally on tv, and yes, he is talented and witty. Nevertheless, I really didn’t care much until I personally witnessed what fame can do to people like him. It’s sad that many look up to him but based on our experience, I find him not worthy at all of the adulation.
Okay, so mommies M and S and I were at BR. It was my treat for the two dear women of mine since we haven’t seen each other in a long time. Fortunately, F's gig was also scheduled that night. The plan was for FM to jam with her band. So we had dinner at the restaurant, then patiently waited for FM. Finally, the “celebrity” arrived with his entourage and had dinner there as well. We then waited till they were done. Mommy S said it was past her bedtime as it was already 10 PM but she really wanted to stay to have her photo taken with FM. Mommy M seconded and she excitedly told us that she would show her photo with FM to her customers at the parlor.
But that wasn't so -- as these old, plain women who only had one simple wish, a photo with their idol, went home very sad and frustrated. FM’s Manila organizers said that they were not informed that there would be a picture-taking. But there were like really few customers, come on! What was 5 minutes of FM's time? He could have made a difference!
Where is your goodwill, FM? You could have called the shots and actually said yes on your own because after all, the people in our province were hospitable and very civilized to you. At BR, we were very polite enough not to have meddled with you until you have thoroughly finished your dinner, and everything. The restaurant owner even pleaded with you that you would have photos with ONLY 5 groups, nothing more - para lang di naman magtampo, especially the old people who came from far away places and needed to go home that night.
We are a loving and kind people and we showed it to you, FM. You knew and felt it because you even tweeted about it many times. Nobody mobbed you, or did anything nasty. But what did you do in return? You broke their hearts! They thought that you’re a good role model until you shamed yourself in our city. Beware, curses from the old are very powerful. I’m afraid of what will happen to you, FM. Maybe you’re on top now, but it’s no guarantee that you will remain on top forever.
Boycotting your tv shows and gigs from now on, gives us power to put you on your place. Good riddance, FM.
Thank you, Fashion PULIS for accommodating my letter.
Sincerely,
Raquel
