we invest in logos, jingles, posters etc when we could have better used the money to improve airport transfer, toilets in tourist areas, remove "entrance/environmental/LGU fees", food packaging etc that give tourists the good reason to come to and explore the country. kahit anong palit mo ng tagline, logo, singer and song, kung same ang issues, coming to the Philippines once is enough
This is very true. Mas mahal pa ang Bohol vacay namin kesa sa HK namin. Ang hotels and resorts lang dito sa province, Bicol in particular, tinalo pa ang mga hotel sa HK and vietnam. Nakakaloka.

THIS! Thailand and Vietnam are more affordable. Both countries have better infrastructure and better food. I work in the airline/travel industry. I can't help but compare it with the Philippines. In terms of customer service (observing hotel staff) - halos similar tayo sa Thailand, kasi both countries are hospitable. Mas angat tayo in our English speaking skills. Pero mas angat ang Thailand :(
I always say Manila could have been Bangkok. And Vietnam? Na-surpass na nila tayo :( Booming ang economy nila.

Back in 2019, nagplano kami magbakasyon ng friends ko. Ni-check namin ang Siargao. Jusko, 6k one way lang. Nong ni check namin ang Osaka Japan, aba, P8,600 lang- balikan na. Siyempre, Japan na pinili namin.
This is sooo true i wanted to bring some friends to siargao when i came home to visit i looked at the accommodations and omg i was shocked the price is as expensive as a 2bedroom rental on the amalfi coast and bali even where you can get a private villa w pool. Even self drive car rentals more expensive than in europe sa totoo lang. But i guess somehow okay na din coz i dont think our infra is ready for mass tourism also better din for the environment baka pag dumami tourist may magka idea nanaman na kalbuhin ang mga bubdok at gumawa ng hotels na mala monterrazza or ma evict yung mga locals sa tinitirhan nila alam mo naman gobyerno *not all* issue ng issue ng permit basta may kapalit na pera

Madaming magagandang pasyalan sa Pinas pero maliban sa mahal ang pamasahe, kailagan mo pang makipagbuno sa mga ilang mapagsamantalang pinoys like taxi etc. Sa ibang bansa tulad ng mga bansa sa EU, bakit ang mura ng pamasahe from country to country balikan 50€ or below nasa 3,400 pesos lang yun. Ganun din sa Asia like Japan 5-8K round trip. Kaya hayun ang Japan embassy Manila fully booked na daw till April para sa mga visa applicants. Bottom line, huwag nalang suportahan ang local tourism baka sakaling magising ang mga lec@eng yan.

Hindi lang sa Siargao mahal. Pumunta kayo sa Coron Palawa Ang chaka ng poblacion nila at ang mahal ng food. Pumunta lang kami kasi nga for the sake na nakarating ka sa isa sa sikat kuno na Island in the world. Maghanda ka ng 3k per person Island hopping tour. So un nga nasa Pinas kapa rin.

Yes Palawan is infamous for non-potable water. Common na yong mga turistang nagkaka LBM daw, kaya wag na wag ka daw magdi dare na uminom or makainom ng tap water nila. Since nag travel kme sa Vietnam sabi ko dito na lang kami kesa mag Boracay or etc, kse for as low as 800 pesos may matino ka na hotel room as in. Food, transpo mura..Imagine if mag book ka tour sa app na starts with letter K, for like 3k lang ah..may tour, transpo and buffet food pa na kasama! San aabot ang 3k mo sa Bora dba?! Kaya sorry talagaa, kahit nga Laguna grabe 2 bedroom nila 7k plus a room.
Gusto ko talaga mag Batanes or Siargao pero ang OA ng plane tix prices. So I've gone to areas more affordable - Boracay, Cebu, Bohol. Even Bali, Indonesia back in 2019 was cheaper back then. Sayang yung opportunitiea for Pinoys.

DeleteMadaming magagandang pasyalan sa Pinas pero maliban sa mahal ang pamasahe, kailagan mo pang makipagbuno sa mga ilang mapagsamantalang pinoys like taxi etc. Sa ibang bansa tulad ng mga bansa sa EU, bakit ang mura ng pamasahe from country to country balikan 50€ or below nasa 3,400 pesos lang yun. Ganun din sa Asia like Japan 5-8K round trip. Kaya hayun ang Japan embassy Manila fully booked na daw till April para sa mga visa applicants. Bottom line, huwag nalang suportahan ang local tourism baka sakaling magising ang mga lec@eng yan.

ReplyDeleteHindi lang sa Siargao mahal. Pumunta kayo sa Coron Palawa Ang chaka ng poblacion nila at ang mahal ng food. Pumunta lang kami kasi nga for the sake na nakarating ka sa isa sa sikat kuno na Island in the world. Maghanda ka ng 3k per person Island hopping tour. So un nga nasa Pinas kapa rin.
ReplyDeleteunang una ubod ng mahal ang hotel, next ang mga halong bay phiphi island malalaking barko ang nagdadala sa tourists, bangka lang for short leisure island trip. Strict sila doon, Pilipinas napaka backward, bangka pa rin ang transportation with motor. Backwards!

ReplyDeleteBus, trains and planes around Europe and naka cross ka na ng countries, dito sa Pinas luging lugi ka sa pamasahe. Free walking tours din dun na tip based lang at safe, dito baka mahold-up pa. Hehe. Gastos na lang ako, sa ibang bansa na lang na di ako magkaka LBM at food poisoning like Palawan.
ReplyDeleteYes Palawan is infamous for non-potable water. Common na yong mga turistang nagkaka LBM daw, kaya wag na wag ka daw magdi dare na uminom or makainom ng tap water nila. Bakit ba di maayos-ayos drinking water jan eh ang tagal na nilang tourist destination at tourism ang primary source of revenue, dapat yon ang priority nila

ReplyDeleteSuper overrated talaga ang Philippine tourism. Like, I'd rather spend my money elsewhere than deal with terrible infrastructure and overpriced facilities here. Tutal gagastos na lang din ako ng malaki, dun na lang sa mas may value at mas malaki ang return.

ReplyDeleteSince nag travel kme sa Vietnam sabi ko dito na lang kami kesa mag Boracay or etc, kse for as low as 800 pesos may matino ka na hotel room as in. Food, transpo mura..Imagine if mag book ka tour sa app na starts with letter K, for like 3k lang ah..may tour, transpo and buffet food pa na kasama! San aabot ang 3k mo sa Bora dba?! Kaya sorry talagaa, kahit nga Laguna grabe 2 bedroom nila 7k plus a room.
ReplyDeleteGusto ko talaga mag Batanes or Siargao pero ang OA ng plane tix prices. So I've gone to areas more affordable - Boracay, Cebu, Bohol. Even Bali, Indonesia back in 2019 was cheaper back then. Sayang yung opportunitiea for Pinoys.

ang hirap din irecommend sa dayuhan kase mismong pinoy nga hinoholdap ng harapan pagdating pa lang sa airport. Pipila ka sa taxi meter with paregistration pa kuno pero pagsakay mo from airport to buendia bus stop 800+ na agad sisingilin kase sira daw meter at traffic hayss tapos may kausap pa sa walkie talkie ang driver. Matatakot ka na lang lalo na kung babae ka kase para silang isang buong sindikato from immigration custom taxi driver bago ka makarating sa overpriced na hotel

DeleteNagride kami sa Zambales last weekend jusko ang parking ng mga sasakyan 100 pesos, ang motor 100 pesos din??? Anim kami so 600 agad parking pa lang! Kaya nga kami nagmotor para makatipid! Kalowkey!
