I wonder if James Reid knew all along na wala itong business permits, proper visa to do business here in the PH. If he did, then he’s just as bad as the guy. If hindi naman sya aware, then that makes him not a good businessman kasi he didn’t even do any research or demand to see proper paperworks kung okay bang mag enter into a partnership with this Jeffrey person.
Malamang alam niya some info na wala siyang permit. Impossible naman kung shunga lang si JR makipagdeal sa ganyan. Pero ang downside,nangiiwan din pala business partner, imbis ayusin nila..
Technically, careless was founded by james reid at bret jackson initially. Nagka fall out si james at bret, then saka pumasok yung si oh. So yes ang kaso is not about business permit but working visa.
My only concern is I am glad that Nadine uses her brain and left. She really saved herself from this mess kung kailan gumaganda na image nya. Naku buti nalang talaga.

In my opinion imposible na hindi niya alam. Madami OFW na pinoy, and kahit sino ang tanungin sa kanila they will all say na kahit anong klase ng trabaho madidisclose at madidisclose kung documented ka or hindi, dahil even the mere fact na mag off the books ka na trabaho gives it away. I'm sure if you own businesses sa pinas kailangan mo ng kahit simpleng national or state ID, na most likely hindi ma-issue sa iyo as a tourist.
I see a lot of commenters na ganito ang observation, but I'll play devil's advocate and say otherwise. Possible din na di niya alam lol. Nung simula ng career niya tatamad tamad lang siya sa pbb, then jadine era si nadine ang bumuhat. Nung careless era may ibang taong responsible like viva nung may partnership pa sila, yung ex bff niya na si bret, and ngayon yung Jeffrey. As a manchild tatay din niya ang humahawak ng finances niya. It doesn't seem like anybody holds him accountable of anything.
Two things. If James knew, so he's just as responsible for this mess. Hinayaan nyang mag-operate ang isang business without proper papers. If he didn't, why on earth are you doing business kung the very basic step of asking for proper paperworks eh di mo ginawa??
If he has owned restaurant businesses in the country, who would have thought he has no working permit to do business here in the first place? He should have not been issued business permit if the owner himself has no working permit. Di ba fault ng city government ‘yun?
From what I understand he has his own company with a different partner who invested into Careless, and this company also owns Notorious Concepts which is the F&B arm of his main company. Of course given na that the government is lacking but let's not forget who chose to do the crime here.
Offense here people is a foreign national or alien working without employment permit. Natural yan si Oh lang ang walang permit at ang parusa ay deportation. It’s not about an illegitimate business. From the looks of it, it’s a way to kick Oh out of the picture. Baka may falling out mga partners ng Careless. OH no!
