      Delete
    3. Hindi pa siguro. Pero pag bumaba na yung glomerular filtration rate nya to less than 10, dialysis na. Meron din akong ckd. 10 years ago nung nadetect.

      Delete
    5. Making iwas of patis isnt enough. A lot of food, especially Filipino cuisine and fast food, are laden with tons of salt and sugar. Even if di ka nagpapatis, pero if mahilig ka naman sa fried chicken, lechon, or any food na maalat ang lasa, and combined pa with unhealthy lifestyle choices such as drinking softdrinks everyday, chronic stress, bad diet, frequent alcohol intake, and taking too much supplements (yep, kahit herbal supplements) can really damage ur kidneys in the long run.

Altho if nasa lahi nyo, extra extra precaution especially sa diet part. Google DASH diet - a guide for people na may heart and kidney diseases

    6. 1:03 nasa family din namin. I got it nung nagbuntis ako. As in walang steroids na tinurok o auman. Less salt din ako. Yung 30% off ang alat.

    7. Whitening pills can cause kidney damage too.

    9. Kidney illness is becoming very common na rin nowadays. Nagkalat na ang mga dialysis centers. Let's all take care of our health guys.

Fitness buffs like to take enhancers. Too much and mahirapan kidney to process it kaya eventually bibigay yan

    2. Me too di ko gets. Pre workout na warm ups ba yan or supplement or drink?

      Delete
    3. Mga supplement or baka protein shakes. Too much protein nakakasira ng kidney plus mukhang may tama na kidney nya since bata pa cya

      Delete
    4. Supplements, protein shake I guess.

      Delete
    5. pre workout supplements i guess? Para mas mabilis mag-burn ng fats.

    6. Yes pls explain (I'm not going to the gym).. but maybe while working out, she drank pills/supplements that damaged her kidneys? Katakot pala uminom ng mga ganyan, we should consult the doctor first before taking any..

      Delete
    7. Pre workout powder or supplements is what she meant short cut nun is pre workout

      Delete
    8. Not sure about girls pero yung mga pre work out drinks like protein shakes ay nakaka damage ng kidney. I remember my creatine was too high before dahil sa protein shake na iniinom ko so the doctor advice to stop drinking those pre and post work out.

      Delete
    9. Protein Shakes po ang pre-workout for energy and stamina. But as she said, this could damagae the kidneys because of high protein content which makes the kidneys work double time.

      Delete
    10. mga iba ibang iniinom can damage the kidney o kung may mga dietary suplements ka teh.

      Delete

    12. Do not drink pre-workout, it's a ticking time bomb sa kidney and heart.

      Delete
    13. In Moderation lang ...

      Delete
    14. Iba po yung pre-workout at protein shakes. Pre-workout mataas sa caffeine yan. Like C4. D ako pinatulog nun kahit umaga ko tinake before workout. Protein shakes/whey protein iniinom yan after workout to feed you muscle with protein po. Sample nitrotech and optimum whey. While working out you have to consume 1 galloon of water din po.

      Delete
  4. So extreme workout like weight lifting can affect your kidneys or mali ang pagintindi ko? Any doctors here? I do go to the gym 3x a week have a PT but he never recommend me to drink pre workout drink na usually iniinom ng mga addict sa gym. Mag water lang ako and eat healthy kahit supplements wala din well i drink b12 yun lang.

    1. Yung mga sports drink ata. At the same, taking powdered supplements for faster metabolism damages your kidney.

    2. Google rhabdomyolysis - a disease that involves muscles and kidneys when u workout wayyyy too much ur limits. But this rarely happens if di moderate exerciser ka. But then again, read more on the topic of rhabdomyolysis and exercising

    3. Better ask ur personal trainer if u have concerns and if u feel overfatigued. A personal trainer is willing to adjust and clarify ur concerns. And yes, tama siya na tubig lang, and B12 is ok kasi your nerves need vitamin b12

      Delete
    4. Tama si Anon 12:37 mali pagka-intindi ni Anon 12:25. By working out you tend to lose electrolytes thru your perspiration and you need to replenish these. Otherwise you might suffer from cramps and spasm.

      Delete
    5. Doctor here. @12:48. That scenario you said *could* happen but only rarely (in very extreme conditions). And rhabdo doesn’t cause CKD. It is more acute in presentation.

      Delete
    6. 5:24 thank u for clarifying. Because most of the time I hear that rhabdo can cause/exacerbate ckd because of the kidney damage

  6. Pre-workout drinks are supplements that u take before u workout to "energise" you and provide u some vitamins/proteins para di ka ngarag sa workout mo.

  7. Tag niya si Iya. Mga mahihilig magbuhat ng heavy gym ganap. They are not aware pala na magiging affected ang kidney in the long run. Too much strain sa muscles, nerves, etc.

    1. Depends really on the activity intensity, and frequency. Rhabdomyolysis is a condition where muscle breaks down, and the kidney gets damaged in the long run. A rare condition, but dangerous nevertheless.

Some experienced athletes dont have rhabdomyolysis even though they are heavy exercisers because they take time-off, get rest days, or do massages to relax the muscles, or those machines that can give u deep tissue massage.

Other athletes experience life threatening conditions or injuries due to overexertion without proper rest.

Point is, exercising and lifting or whatever physical activity that you do has its benefits, but overdoing too much is bad.

Based on weight at height yun.

      Delete
    3. you got it wrong. the pre workout protein shakes are the culprit.

  8. Some pre workout drinks contain substances that are not FDA approved and have been known to cause hepatotoxicity and nephrotoxicity in the long run. Praying that it won't progress to end stage kidney disease.

  11. Gym rat here

    Preworkout drinks
    - mga inumin that claims to improve ur gym performance
    - u take it before u workout
    - some supplements are being marketed solely as pure preworkout, which separates them from classic protein powders
    - some just drink ordinary coffee or sugar free fruit smoothie as preworkout para mas healthy

    Protein powders
    - whey, casein, bcaa, plant protein, etc
    - usually taken after the workout
    - altho some drink protein powders before workouts kasi mas tipid sa pera na 1 supplement lang iinumin kaysa naman bibili sila ng protein powder and a preworkout

  14. Pre-workout drinks/protein shakes are no no for people with kidney disease. Pre-workout drinks has a lot of electrolytes (like potassium which should be restricted for her) & diet heavy in protein cause it's hard on the kidneys (causes elevated BUN & CREAT) - 2nd sem nursing student who learned Fluids & Electrolytes sa 1st sem :)
