  1. Ayyy, inggit yata si Ate and wants to take Lea's place. She makes it sound like there's a lot of Japanese Broadway stars out there. Even Asian ones are hard to find. Hello, Kim was a Vietnamese character played by a Filipino! Inggit lang si Ate!

  2. Bakit hindi siya nagmaldita? Kasi hindi Pinoy? Pag Pinoy yan, nakuuuu, alam niyo na.

Aminin.

    6. Mga baks ibig nyang sabihin put up with her sa theater production pero hindi sa film. Aminin racists din ang mga Japanese and they look down on other Asian countries kaya inferior ang tingin nila kay Tita Lea.

    9. Supalpal to the max...

Sorry but you have no choice.

My hubby's Japanese-American and he and his family loved that I'm doing it.

Why not ask the producers to replace me. Better yet ask George after all he was the one who asked me to do it.

    13. BINGO 1:59 that is what she meant. Malas mo wala kang choice.

    14. She is really smart. The formula for putting someone in his/her place differs by culture. Kung Pinay diretso bara. Pag mga Japanese pailalim ang Tira. Yung unang magwala sa culture nila kasi talo. So kalmado yung pambara ni Leah. I'm sure nagngingitngit sa galit yung haponesa

  3. Ha ha one of the very few times Lea is put in her place

    3. Pink that's not an article, it's a Twitter conversation. Learn to separate the difference.

  4. Japanese kasi kausap nya.

  5. Dapat Japanese, not Lea. Or si Megumi if she sings lol.

  6. nasupalpal ang haponesa! biglang kambyo

Nice logic.

May point din naman si Ate. They should cast the right person. Pero salty kasi yung pagkakasabi niya. And also, Leah is Asian. Misinformed si Ate. Haha.

      Delete
  8. Dapat sinabi nya, are you interested to take my place?

Yung Les Miserables is all about French Revolution, so dapat French actors lang pwede? O kaya yung Miss Saigon, Vietnam war yun ah. As long as nagagampanan ng maayos yung role, wag na pakialaman yung casting...

    1. EXACTLY. WALANG LOGIC IYONG IBA.

  11. Well, might be a good idea to cast Japanese or those with Japanese lineage women for the role. However, for this kind of singing and acting genre, they are quite unheard of in the international scene. Kindly correct me if I am wrong, just that I haven't read nor heard any well-known Japanese women doing theater acting and singing in English.

Megumi herself is using a non-Japanese surname. LOL. Some folks have to realize that when it comes to music and casting, it is the story that would decide who can play the role and what would it take for the actor/actress to bag the role. Race or nationality aren't really something to be considered, but on who is the best to give life to the character.

  13. @12:18 Anong Hinde ? Ang taray nga Ni tita Lea eh. Ang sabihin mo mahina ang English comprehension eklavu mo. Lol

    ReplyDelete
  14. Biglang kambyo nga naman...Served her right... Yes she have to put up with Lea... She's Asian do you have a problem with that?

    ReplyDelete
  15. I liked Lea's response. She played nga naman a Vietnamese girl in Miss Saigon and an American mother in Les Miserables. What's wrong with her playing a Japanese sister? She can give justice naman to the role.

    ReplyDelete
Try mo mag audition?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Renee Zellweger played the famous British spinster in Bridget Jones and hardly anyone complained. John Lithgow just won an award for playing the British PM Winston Churchill in "The Crown." Its been done everywhere and everytime. The list goes on and on. Both on stage and in motion pictures. So what was the big deal?

    ReplyDelete

Hahaha

    ReplyDelete
  20. Bitter si Megumi. What she doesn't get is that Lea is a class act. On stage or off stage. Walang K si Megumi.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Mga baks read nyo to--Megumi Haggerty is a bilingual American actress of Japanese and Irish descent. She was born in Louisville, KY and then moved to Japan where she began modeling at the age of six. After seven years in Japan, she moved to England for a number of years before moving back to the States for high school. Once in the States, she began acting in local theaters and trained at The Papermill Playhouse's Summer Conservatory in Millburn, NJ. She continued her training at Emerson College, where she earned a BA and doubled majored in Acting & Theatre Education. Megumi appeared in a number of Emerson Stage shows as well as the musical Surviving the Nian (for the Theatre Offensive) at the Boston Center for the Arts, garnering her first IRNE nomination for Best Actress in a Musical. Megumi now lives in New York City, and has appeared in a number of commercials, film, and voice-over spots.

    1. What if it was the other way round? A Japanese actress playing an iconic Filipino role di ba marami din aangal na Pinoy.

    2. YES BUT LEA SALONGA IS A TONY AND OLIVIER AWARDEE!

      Delete
    3. exactly !!! she is inggit much !! with all her so called training she is still an UNKNOWN in the theater world...and ms lea salonga already is a tony and olivier awardee !!

      Delete
Example na lang sa Harry Potter and the Cursed child.

    1. THEY ONLY BREAK POLICIES IF THE ACTOR DESERVES IT. PINAGLALABAN ANG MGA ASIANS NA NAKAKA-KUHA NG ROLE SA BROADWAY KASI MAY POLICY SA UNION NG MGA ACTORS NA DAPAT PRIORITY ANG WHITE ACTORS.

      Delete
    2. Nope 2:53. More like east asian americans think they're white too, at tayo mga mas mababang brown asians lang. Pag nangyari na yun, then we can have a piece.

  23. @13:39Hay Naku Kahit Ano pang Haba ng resume Ni ate girl Ang Alam Ko Lang wala pa Syang Tony award at Laurence Olivier Award tulad ng Kay Tita Lea😂 Parang Inggit Lang tuloy Ang drama Nya may pa "we don't need/want lea Salonga ..." line pa Sya .?

    ReplyDelete
  24. 12:39, walang nabanggit na TONY di ba? So not even in Lea's league ang babaeng ito. Kung producer ako gaano ba kahirap to choose ang Tony award winner over a broadway wannabe.

    ReplyDelete
  25. That Haggerty lady was obviously asking for trouble. Why else would she tag Lea eh ang gripe nya dapat is with the casting folks.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Sa memoirs of a geisha nga hindi hapon ang mga lead na babae....

  27. Sorry teh Megumi audition ka sa susunod malay mo it's your time to shine but sa ngayon ishishine nuna ni tita Lea ang Tony at Olivier trophy nya.
