Somehow, these idiots walk around with a false sense of entitlement to being "the only artistic ones" and think that doing unorthodox methods in shooting Indie films make them more sophisticated than us "mere mortals," who believe in animal rights.
If, however, they try to bring this film to other countries hoping to get an award for torture & canicide on film, then they might be surprised that other award-winning Indie filmmakers are also those types who respect animals and the environment; and they will never tolerate knowing that the director filmed canicide as a form or "art."
This is based on a true to life story kung saan apat na miners ang napatay sa isang isla somewhere in bicol. But then oo yon ang point ng movie, pero bakit kailangan pumatay ng aso sa actual filming just to make your point strong sa manonood? Dapat managot and director nito, napakahangin!

Any form of animal cruelty is beyond the rules of achieving artistic excellence in film, be in mainstream or indie. Pwede naman tayong gumawa ng mga dekalibreng pelikula nang hindi natatapakan ang karapatan ng tao at kapakanan ng hayop. Indie films should be about bringing out the inner flaws of the characters and what audiences can learn from it. Don't get me wrong, I love indie films pero hindi requirement yung papatay ka ng totoong hayop para masabing napaka-artistic ng ginawa mo.

Dog lover ako (i have 2 dogs na love na love ko) and against ako don sa sinasabi ng mga nakapanood na may pinatay/kinatay na aso. Sana di nila kinuhaan yun and ni-report na lang nila. Sabi nila kinuhaan lang daw yung ritual. Ritual nga lang ba yun or nakita lang nila don sa RA 8485 na hindi against sa batas kapag religious ritual kaya yun yung dahilan nila? Kinain ba sa film yung aso or ritual lang talaga? Sorry po, di ka po napapanood.
ReplyDeleteStupid yun logic!! To be honest, the fact that you can kill a dog and film it ng di ka disturbed eh may problema ka sa pagiisip. Kung talagang magaling kang film maker yang Biboy, he didnt have to kill an innocent dog para gumanda movie nya. Hope the animal rights advocates wont let this one slide! We need stronger laws para sa animal rights!

ReplyDeleteAng tanga naman ng Biboy na ito. Ang issue ay ang pagpapakita ng pagpatay ng aso sa movie nyo, which is against the law. Yung mga minerong sinasabi mo ba aktwal na pinatay nyo rin onscreen? Hindi, di ba? So anong relate nun sa issue? Di porket indie ang palabas may artistic freedom na kayo to break the law. Kung ganyan kayabang ang mga gumagawa ng indie films, mas gugustuhin ko pa na suportahan ang mga movies gaya ng enteng at movies ni vice. Corny man di naman mga abusado sa pagiging "artistic" nila na kala mo makapagsalita higit na sa iba, gaya nyang si mercedes cabral.

That doesn't make you any different than those who killed the miners out of greed. Greed isn't just about money. Greed transcends money. Kung nalaman lang sana ng mas maaga, maiigi sanang iboycott ang palabas na ito at sana bawiin na ang tropeo napalanunan ng mga taong sangkot sa palabas na ito. kahit pa ba indi ko direktang kasama sa scene ng pagpatay ng aso, pero alam mo naman all the while dahil nasa script ang pagpatay sana may konsyensya ka nalang at ibalik ang binigay na tropeo.

Any form of animal cruelty is beyond the rules of achieving artistic excellence in film, be in mainstream or indie. Pwede naman tayong gumawa ng mga dekalibreng pelikula nang hindi natatapakan ang karapatan ng tao at kapakanan ng hayop. Indie films should be about bringing out the inner flaws of the characters and what audiences can learn from it. Don't get me wrong, I love indie films pero hindi requirement yung papatay ka ng totoong hayop para masabing napaka-artistic ng ginawa mo.
