Repost: Actress Maritoni Fernandez Asks for Privacy After Sister’s Death

Actress Maritoni Fernandez has issued a statement appealing for privacy following her sister's murder over the weekend.

"We ask the public at this time to respect our need for privacy so that we may continue to heal in our own way," she wrote.

"During this time, we will give due diligence to the investigation process by not making any further statements that may jeopardize the integrity of this inquiry," she added.

Fernandez's sister, British-Filipino Ma. Aurora Moynihan, was shot dead before dawn on Sunday. Her body was dumped along Temple Drive near Giraffe Street in Brgy. Ugong Norte, Quezon City at around 1:55 a.m.

Moynihan had gunshot wounds in the chest. A cardboard sign was found on top of her body with the sign "Drug pusher ng mga celebrities, kasunod na kayo!"

Fernandez said her family's priority now is to protect Ma. Aurora's children.

"In the early hours of September 10th, we lost my sister Aurora Moynihan. We as a family have one priority and truth at this point in time and that is to protect her children from further pain and suffering so that they, and we as a family may take this time to grieve, mourn but most of all celebrate the life of this exceptional human being I will forever have the privilege of calling my sister," she said.

"Thank you for your understanding," Fernandez ended her statement.

Police investigation is still ongoing to determine who may be responsible for the shooting. —KG, GMA News

  2. im not saying na tama yung nangyari or im justifying it, but for us innocent, at least may sense of relief ng konti dahil hindi 100% innocent yung victim since may prev record associating her with drugs. the question is if she is out of that na in 2016 or not. coz it would have been sad kung nag new life na sya at dinawit pa rin sya now.

    1. So just because she's not 100% innocent, she deserved to die? You don't even know if she was still selling drugs or if this is some type of setup.

    2. 5:32 pls read my orig msg. wala akong sinabi na she deserves to die. maayos kong sinabi na im not justifying it and i am for due process. pero sa ating mga innocent, at least hindi some random person ang pinatay na walang kinalaman bec kung ganun lahat tayo target na. with Maritoni's statement, more or less aminado sya na may sala ang victim dahil kung wala, her statement would be very diff and would claim her sister is innocent. however, bottom line is due process. kung need ikulong, ikulong, kung need bitayin, bitayin pero dumaan sa tamang proseso.

    3. We may never know the truth because there was no due process.

    4. maybe 7:16 maritoni is wise enough to know that crying innocence in public is useless. der is a proper forum for that. she said that they their silence is to protect the integrity of the investigation.

    5. Ang nakakatakot dito kahit inosente ka pa, if they want you dead, they can always frame you!

The sad part now is that she will no longer be able to dispute it dahil she was shot dead by unidentified suspects.

    1. Easily planted evidence that could've been done by the killers. Murder is a crime. This is not a safe society where pababa daw Ang crime rate pero kailangan pa din mag declare ng state of lawlessness.

We've seen it in the movies. Those who want out o magbagong buhay are the ones na pinapatahimik. I hope for justice but this could also be the justice if she's really a pusher.

  8. I think the UN declaration of human rights should be translated into Tagalog and othe local dialects para maintindihan ng lahat lalo na yung mga uneducated supporters ni duterte. Unless they don't consider themselves human, which is not far-fetched judging from their savage views and lack of morals.

    2. Why not start tranlating it Mister Brightside, by how you pressume and call people uneducated you are putting your self above - so give us all a favor and translate whatever human rights decleration there is - para maintindihan ng mga uneducated na tao - do your nation a favor - educated them - sige nga patunayan mo na your worth is not just an added commenter of FP. If concern ka sa Pilipinas now is your chance.

    3. Sakit sa ulo ng comment ni 2:34. There is no need to write in English to express your opinion, especially when you cannot write that well. Also, it is not Mister Brightside’s responsibility to educate you and everyone else on human rights. It is your responsibility to educate yourself!

  9. Let's respect the bereaved family's wish for privacy, no speculations muna on both side... respeto na lang kahit sang panig ka di dapat nawawala ang respeto sa kapwa

Kaya kung gusto na talagang magbagong buhay at can afgord naman, better leave the country na lang asap and lead a new life somewhere.

Di ba pwedeng hulihin at ikulong?
