Hay.

    2. Now more than ever we need to give our all out support to president duterte. We know something like this might happen. Our enemy is trying to tell us that they don't want Philippines to progress . So they will do everything in their power to ruin everything but we will all fight back . We Filipinos should not be messed with. Enough is enough!

We can agree to disagree on some issues but at the end, please remember we are part of one nation, pare-pareho tayong Pilipino at wala pong pwedeng magmahal at magmalasakit sa Pilipino kung hindi kapwa din Pilipino. My deepest condemned to the bereaved and sympathy to the victims. Please, I urged you to please inclde our President in your prayers.

  13. My heart is in a state of unrest - and I cannot make myself sleep even if I am dead tired from a whole day of lecture. I know I must write this, so please read on.

This is for every Davaoeño and every Filipino. I will try to make you see what I see and know.

    **

I am not from Davao, but I saw the love that is Rodrigo Duterte and the Davaoeños. Surprisingly, I first saw it in scientific articles - when I was researching for my candidate to vote. I saw it in a number of published journals. And it was during the last few days of the election campaign that I saw it with my own eyes: the genuine love that is between Duterte and Davao. It was undeniable. The love transcends. And if you are empathic enough, it will reverberate through you - watching all the videos made by Davaoeños for then Mayor Duterte made me cry - because I know that the concern is true. They didn't want Rodrigo Duterte to win so that they can have a "Padrino" in Malacañan. They have been, as a people, self-reliant. They have pride on who they are. They wanted Rodrigo Duterte to win because they love him. Their only wish: that we Filipinos do not destroy Rodrigo Duterte - to keep him whole, intact. They loved him like a father. And he in turn, loved them back.

How do I know this? Because during the elections I have met many Davaoeños - most of them through facebook, as they sent me messages of thanks for the note and the open letter I made before. A good number I met in person. Good people. Caring people. People who would talk to you like you have been friends for a long time even if you just met. They talk of the same thing: They love and respect and care for Rodrigo Duterte.

That is something rare for a politician to have - to be loved sincerely by his constituents.

And a lot of Manileños are just blind and must be really stupid to think that the loving support that the Davaoeños have for Rodrigo Duterte is merely idolatry. Stupid lazy people who do not take diligent effort to see that for almost two decades, this Davao Mayor worked so hard to uplift the lives of the people of Davao.

The following articles would support this. Do not be lazy and read:

    http://redfame.com/…/index.…/ijsss/article/download/1011/941

    http://www.pspa.ph/…/Bagolong%20_Revisiting%20Davao%20as%20…

    http://research.uic.edu.ph/…/index.p…/uicpj/article/view/185

Most of the people who are now doing the following:
    1. Mocking the bombing as a failure of the president.
    2. Mocking the "safest city" status of Davao
    3. Thinking that the "state of lawlessness" issued by the president is a predicate to martial law;

are probably just so scathed by the inefficiency of the previous governments we had, that they have become callous - not even apathetic. CALLOUS. Insensitive to the goodness of things that are already in front of their faces. Goodness must have become so unreal to these people that it became an abstract thought to them. Something unreal, unbelievable.

Reading their posts made me feel hatred towards them. But you know what? despite the predicament of the recent tragedy, IT WAS THE DAVAOEÑOS WHO WERE CONSOLING PEOPLE WHO SHOWED SUPPORT FOR THEM. THEY WERE URGING PEOPLE TO LOOK AT THE BRIGHT SIDE OF THINGS - that they can stand up. That is dignity. And that level of dignity, in my book, earns them the utmost respect I can give.

To every Davaoeño, THANK YOU. Thank you for inspiring the Filipinos. Thank you for showing us civility and dignity and strength.

The people who clamor in mockery from now on will just be a fly buzzing near our ears - annoying but must be disregarded.

You deserve our support and love.

    Laban Davao. Lakas Davao.

You continue to inspire us. Thank you. ♥️

    1. Oh please, spare us the dramas. Enough of the shameless plug. Accept the fact that not all Filipinos like Duterte. Period.

    2. Thank you for this. I am originally from Manila but now residing in Davao (for the past 4 yrs). I love Mayor Duterte, I love president Duterte, because I can feel his sincerity. I am deeply saddened by how insensitive other Filipinos are. They cry for bombing victims of other countries (which is just), but bash the City of Davao, the mayor, the vice and the president and some even mock Davao by saying 'I thought it's a safe city?' . Truly suprising to see how much hatred there is out there. How much evil.

  14. Lets pray for Davao instead of bashing the President or The Mayor. It hurts that davao is labeled as one of the safest city in the world and ngyari po samin to. It goes to say na hnd lang po dto sa davao pwd mngyari to kahit saan po pwede so sana ipag dasal nalang natin na matapos na ang mga gantong pangayayari. Stop being so harsh and pray!

    ReplyDelete
  15. The President has only declared Law of lawlessness. Not Martial law. You pray for france, syria and all the likes.. but u are celebrating when davao was bombed.. kapwa ninyo Pinoy , ka dugo ka-lahi nag celebrate pa at nagpasalamat dahil na bomb ang davao.. TAO pa ba kayo?

    3. That's how narrow minded "some" Filipinos are. Instead of offering a prayer for the victim and for the safety of our country, they chose to mock the President and his supporters. I sometimes wonder if they are human or just a robot behind a computer?

Pero they are grieving right now. So kung may hindi maganda sa statements nila, give them some leeway naman. Emotional, tapos busyng busy din in trying to restore peace. Wag tayong dagdag burden .
Empathize with the people of davao. Mga kapatid natin yan, under one flag. Ilocana here. Prayers to the south from the north. We care for you, Davao, Mindanao, Pres and Mayor Duterte.

  18. Yung mga pinoy na panay hate comments? Yun yung masarap pag untugin eh.

    ReplyDelete
