If you are confident that you have inculcated good values to your kids then you wouldnt worry about outside influences. Kids shouldn't look up to anybody but their parents. It is the job of the parents to set good example. Social media and TV have become nannies of the kids, this shouldn't be the case. ReplyDeleteAng pagmumura ng bata do nakasalalay sa president o kanino man tao. NASA paghubog ng magulang. Nakakalimutan ata ng marami na ang family is the basic unit of the society. GMRC begins at home. If you are confident that you have inculcated good values to your kids then you wouldnt worry about outside influences. Kids shouldn't look up to anybody but their parents. It is the job of the parents to set good example.

This. I don't approve of Duterte's catcalling, but whoever said he was perfect? Whoever made him the benchmark of morality? People complain like it's his main job as the president to instill morality on the general public. Wrong. Immorality exists everywhere (both in cyberspace and real world). That's why it's the parents' major obligation to instill morals to their kids. If your kids lacked morals, don't go blaming anyone but yourself.

DeleteIt's exactly that... parents have an obligation to foster an environment that will help raise their children to learn to respect, to have manners, etc. How can they ensure such an environment when there are people like you, in this world, who justifies the wrong actions of others? People like you... are the reason... this world has a very demented sense of morality.
Whether or not he is the President, the harsh reality is that evil do exist. It is not justifying his actions but the fact that it is the sole responsibility of the parents to instill morals to their kids. As a parent, I am confident that no matter what my kids see on TV or hear on the streets, they won't emulate. Why? Bec I make sure that I talk to my kids everyday. I may not be with 24/7 but I am sure that before they went out to the real world and mingle with others, their values are intact.
