    1. That's one big concern, too. There will be state visits, summits, etc that will require him to face the international community as well as his contemporaries. Can he control his mouth or be on his best behavior? What a nightmare! Fasten your seatbelts and brace yourselves for a bumpy ride full of faux pas and blunders.

    9. He is, surprisingly, a strategist nonpareil. I wouldn't be surprised if he turns out to be quite the diplomatic leader. He is a lawyer so he should know better. Besides, all the diplomats who came to visit him only have praises for him so that, in a way, is telling.

I'm guessing he will keep giving us nerve-wracking presscons up until June 30. In the meantime, he's killing all the elephants in the room. I am excited for the future of our country.

  41. But then again, they want to boycott Duterte but couldn't resist posting an article about him. Moreover, they (the journalists) started blasting their opinions all over social media. Bottomline is: Duterte is news worthy. Sa totoo lang, with the technology nowadays, those journalists can start retiring one by one. We can just all watch a live facebook video feed minus the news anchors'/reporters' adlibs and opinion. There are things na di ko rin gusto kay Duterte (like pagmmura). But then again, he is the only president na covered from end to end ang presscon. Past presidents including our current president Aquino has the privilege of asking media to omit some parts of their footage to make him appear "mabango" sa public. A lot of booboos, dead air, biased reporting and inappropriate headlines. Bago siguro sila mag boycott, isipin muna nila kung relevant pa ba sila sa society. Just my opinion though. :-)

  47. I believe in President Duterte's capacity to lead the country. He may speak the way he does: Uncouth, tactless, full of expletives, no holds barred, misogynistic etc. He is different, anti establishment and very non conformist. With that being said people from the media, conservative society, church, etc will definitely not like him. However, Duterte has a good guiding principle of cleaning up the country's mess esp drugs, criminality, joblessness, peace and order, poverty, red tape etc. People right now are reacting negatively because his behavior is nothing like presidential. No finesse, very grass root, he talks like he is talking with his drinking buddy during press conferences, his type of presidential leadership is in your face type, mano o mano type of leadership. Its unprecedented. But his track record in Davao says a lot about him. People are afraid because there has never been like him in the presidency before.

    2. Yes, in Davao pero hindi na sya Mayor..Presidente na sya and he represents the country.

    3. well, if he can deliver his service and being hospitable enough to those foreign dignitaries visiting the country like you said who are mostly corrupt din naman, he still serves his purpose..

  51. .... amidst all these negatve feedbacks one thing for sure di yan kukuha ng pera ng kaban ng bayan for his personal use. he hates all forms of corruption and that is more important. hopefully makakabangon ang pilipinas... get rid of laglag bala gang so i have peace of mind pag bumyahe ulit to pinas.... just know that duterte is far from perfect but he has the sincerity to serve the filipino people.... tested and proven, look at davao!

    1. Sure? He could have proven that by opening his bank account's transaction history. Now, Davao City, as much as I like this place, have you tried looking at the other side of the coin? the pain and suffering that is still existing? Will the fear-centered type of leadership endure when alot still suffers from hunger and injustice? Think again. And don't start with 'justice by killing criminals'. Don’t confuse revenge with justice. Know the difference.

    4. It took digong several terms, not 3-6 months, to make Davao what it is today and still it is not as progressive as other cities of the Philippines.

Ever since meron na tau nean, anong ganap? And media can never be a true media. Un ang point nea. There will always be touch of manipulation kaya wag tayo magpauto sa nakikita natin sa TV. Again, we dont need a diplomat ruler who can steal to his dying fellow men. Better a harsh and foul mouthed man but who is more concern for your betterment and to one thing that most filipinos forgot; DISCIPLINE.

  57. I have high hopes for our country, Mr. President-elect. I hope you will deliver despite these nega vibes surrounding you. Bawasan ang pagmumura sana, a lot of young Filipinos are following you.
