  2. Lea kinda pls shut up. This is must be solemn.

  3. lots of sarcasm in this poem. the right to bear arms is the 2nd ammendment of their bill of rights in their constitution. this is purposely placed by their founding fathers to keep government from opressing the people. so people that dont know about patriotism should shut their mouth. gun control will do no good to those responsible and good gun owners... just saying...

    1. I totally agree with you Anon 12:34am. Some people like Lea should shut up because they know nothing about it. They think what happened in Orlando should be blamed to people who owned guns. I own a gun but i never shot people. It's an act of responsibility. She thinks like Obama, blaming guns but never blamed the islamic terrorists... Oh well!!!

    2. Tama don't blame the gun, blame the owners.

    3. Gun control is not about keeping good responsible people from owning a gun. It's about keeping those bad people or people who should not have guns from owning one especially automatic rifles. I respect the 2nd ammendment but I am also all for responsible gun ownership.

  5. Ang OA. People will kill regardless kung may access sa guns o wala. Humans are the most dangerous animals. Don't blame it all on guns.

  7. Be quiet Lea Salonga... America is not a gun. America is still a land of opportunity, is a melting pot, generous and beautiful. America might not be perfect, but it's still the best country in the world. The U.S. is going through something that is so devastating and it's very disparaging to see your post. It's like kicking someone when they are down. I hope America kicks you out or bans you from coming back.

  9. Timely indeed. Too many innocents have lost their lives just to satisfy the ego of the shooter. The Americans have the right to acquire firearms, but there must be a better way such as unified info, to thoroughly check whether buyers can have guns.

How many more Orlando, Sandy Hook, or Virginia Tech massacres before America learns? People who could have made differences long time ago are too cowed by the NRA.

    1. The NRA is just an organization-- influential but hardly invulnerable. The right to bear arms is in the Constitution -- written by the founding fathers to protect basic human rights. So they are dealing with something so much larger here. You mess with one thing -- you can try to mess with the other ones, like speech, religion, etc. Magkakahanay yan ng importance.

As long as the government cannot fully guarantee that no harm will ever befall a person... that person should have the right to defend his or herself with the best available means. But I agree with you that they should be better with checking background info.

    2. the monsters who created these crime would have done the deed, regardless whether they have guns or not. They are terrorists. The internet gives you information how to make explosives, how to kill people in so many different ways. It's not guns that kill people, people kill people.

    3. Nalaos sya kasi dito sa US good thing she learned how to speak tagalog and went back to the Phils. Dati hindi mo yan mapasalita ng wikang Pinoy. She became very ordinary person here in the US right after she got married.

    4. once again these bias media is diverting the issue. instead of saying that this current government is a failure in dealing foreign policies they are talking more about gun control which has nothing to do with this islamic terrorist attack. more gun control here in US will do no good to all responsible gun owners, it will make ordinary people more vulnerable to these criminals...

  10. Witty poem, but may point naman. The fact na malaki ang US and very diverse, the gun problem is uncontrollable. To add, US is the biggest manufacturer of it. It's like asking a german not to drink beer when thousand of beer kind is manufacturef there. Likewise asking a swedish not to drive volvo when they are the makers of it. :-)

  11. Political agenda. Kay daming maganda sa America, the greatest country in the world, yan ang nakita?

Sa Amerika lang ba may namatay? Di ba sa Paris and Brussels din? FRANCE/EUROPE HAS A STRICT POLICY ON GUNS -- MAY NAPALA BA? Hindi ba nakabili ng baril yung mga terorista?

    1. Madaming asylum seeker sa EU, madaling mareach from those troubled countries. Madaling magpasok ng guns through borders pero mahirap makakuha ng license to shoot/own a gun if you will do it the right way. And honestly, the only non-isis shooting in EU is the event in Sweden. That breviek guy, who got a hole in his head. Lunatic lang.

Dami ring events sa US na local shooting lang, no association to ISIS.

I agree with u that USA is a land of opportunities & promises. But i dare not say the greatest, at least in my perpective of safety & economic equality of individuals. :-)

    2. There you go. Porous borders + strict gun laws = easy target for terrorists. Wag tularan. The point of having a gun for civilians is for self defense.

      Local shooting happens anywhere.

That the US is the greatest is a figure of speech -- pampa contra lang sa hanash from the poem up there. I agree with you, no country has any claim to being called "the greatest" -- each has strengths and weaknesses.

  14. Then do not come to America, Lea.. Stay where ever you are and do not come here. I would rather support America and pray for this beautiful country than to kick it while it's down. Americans have the right to bear arms, it's part of the Constitution, but it does not define this country. This country gave me and my family to have a wonderful life and I'm sure it did the same to you, so ungrateful.

  17. I expect more from you, Lea Salonga. If you cannot say anything positive about such a tragic event, please just keep quiet. Your post that puts the United States in a bad light at a time when it is in deep sorrow is nothing short of unkind. What purpose does your posting of the poem serve? Does it make you happy to point out that Americans have a problem with guns?

Millions of Filipinos and people from all over look towards celebrities like you for inspiration - I hope that you keep this in mind the next time you post anything on your social media accounts.

  18. Pwede ba Lea wag ka pa relevant?!?! If you don't live and vote in the US you have no say and shouldn't comment on their ways much less the Government. And dami mong alam Letse! Kumanta ka na lang at mag perform ok? America doesn't need all the BS that comes out of your mouth nyemas!

  20. America is the reason why our country is economically poor. I know for many of you that may sound like a total nonsense, but that's only because y'all are uto-uto sa mga banyaga. Pero kung magsasaliksik kayo, then you will know that I ain't talking sh*t here. America is the perfect example of being a devil disguised as an angel in the Philippines. #truth

    2. You don't get it 8:03 noh? That "American Dream" that many of the Pinoys are clamoring for is one of the result of the American imperialism. Theoretically, we are independent, but the reality begs to differ. We are still a puppet of Uncle Sam. We are being used daily by this superpower for their own good.

      Delete
    3. 3:26 seems to me that you read that somewhere and just repeated it. Please give a concrete example and relate it to someone's daily lifE .. How are you a puppet? If you're a puppet you admit weakness. If you're weak why blame the other party ? I can go on and on and on but I have to go to work.

  24. There should be more thorough background checking for gun buyers. Yes, it's part of the constitution to have the right to arm themselves, but obviously, there are also citizens that should not be given access to firearms. Those who were or are getting investigated for any sort or degree of violence, those who are having mentally or psychologically related issues.

    1. They already do that. You have to wait weeks before you receive a gun because of all the checking.

  26. After the americans awarded you the prestigious Tony best actress award inspite of your being a Filipino citizen ito ang igaganti mo Lea? You were immortalized as the voice of Jasmine in Alladin by the Americans, is this how you repay them? Have you forgotten all these great opportunities and generosity given to you by the Americans? Stop badmouthing the country who recognized your talent, you disappoint me Lea!

  27. Lea in times of despair pls be mindful of your posts. America is a vast nation they have their own crimes and calamities just like other nations do. Better to pray for them than to post negative things coming from a celebrity who was able to shine in America.
