Actually, I was expecting either Colombia or Pia to take that opportunity to realize one of the essences/Mission-Vision of the pageant.
Sayang kasi pwdeng ipakita ni Colombia na super cool sya na sports sya after all ng mishaps. Mas lalo sana syang hinangaan. Pde ding inalok ni Pia si Colombia na mag take ng walk together. Pageant is about competition pero beauty inside out din dapat. saka camaraderie. It's not HUNGER GAMES na para kang mamamatay kapag di mo nakuha ang korona at tila makikipag patayan pra maging winner.

In every video i watched, the crowning moment was cut off! I've been searching for it and its just the same, the announcement and all but that moment when Pia was being crowned was always being cut off! I feel bad for Colombia but come on after 42 years we've got this and our dear Pia didnt even have the crowning moment she deserves!
Meron ako nakita sa facebook, she was crowned backstage while she was crying while most of the girls were still on stage cheering Colombia. It seemed like apart from her, mga staff lang un nandun. It also looks like it happened after she tried to approach Colombia but was shunned by the other girls and was escorted by the staff backstage. It's really sad

i think it was due to Steve being left in awe & confusion that he needed to consult this with the organizer backstage first to discuss the plan of action and how to correct before make bawi bawi. Yun nga lang, dapat immediately nya tlga binawi agad bago pa malunod si Colombia. Yan tuloy, nahirapang makamove on. nagka-separation axiety sa korona.
Troot, pero sans they escorted Colombia to the side of the stage immediately, para magka-moment si Pia. Doon na lang sana sa gilid nagcryola, agaw-atensyon pa eh!
Im happy but somehow Pia/Miss Philippines was robbed of that shining moment. It was not their fault though and Steve Harvey was very apologetic. Congratulations Pia! You really deserve it based on your performance tonight.

Hay, naku. Nakaka-iyak. I'm so proud of Pia Wurtzbach. For me, it was kind of bittersweet because the whole unfortunate incident (mistake of the host) denied Pia her moment to walk across the stage as the newly crowned 2015 Ms. Universe. I mean, yeah the host announced the correction and the crown was transferred, but the program was cut right after that. She didn't have the stage to herself w/ the whole regalia and took her first walk as "The" winner, all because the pageant organizers and the network had to save their faces. But that's that. Pia IS the winner. Ganon na talaga siguro yun. Pia was the epitome of grace, class and beauty the whole entire time. God bless her.
Bittersweet nga. Siguro ganun din nararamdaman ni pia masaya kase panalo at the same time malungkot din kase alam mo may nalungkot/nasaktan dapat talaga maingat sa pag-aannounce ng winner. That was a clear sabotage of the Ms. Universe Beauty Pageant! Sinadya yan, not necessarily dayain ang results kundi para ilagay sa kahihiyan at mawalan ng credibility ang pageant organization! And this happened when Donald Trump was no longer connected with the pageant! Maaring nabayaran o tinakot ng Mafia ang host!
Usually in the US, they just announce the winner of the Miss Universe in the papers and news. Ni hindi nga nababanggit ang mga runners up. Pero ngayon, talagang pinag-uusapan ang controversy.
Pia won it fair and square. She nailed the preliminary and both Q&A's. Based on the Top 3 Q&A.. Philippines is 1st, USA 2nd and Colombia 3rd. Colombia's answer focused on herself and her attributes as a Latin woman only. USA gave a general answer on how she could use her title to influence people. Pia gave the most specific, timely and relevant answer! Confidently beautiful with a heart! Pakkk! Bravo! Beauty and brains indeed!

Felt bad for Miss Colombia, but Miss Philippines is the real winner....for the emcee, it's a stupid mistake though but good thing he has balls to correct it right there on national tv, and he was right about telling badgers not to blame the 2 ladies and admitted that it was all his fault.

Congratulations for winning Miss Universe, it is a tough fight indeed. Kaming mga bashers mo, alam mo naman will always be doble kara coz that is what we are and you know about that :) But at any rate, we are proud of you coz you made the Philippines on top of the list again. Well people, matter-of -factly speaking, Miss Colombia didn't win AT ALL. Announcing her and putting the crown on her head was just a big mistake, she really never had the title of Miss Universe nor was she dethroned, nor robbed. She's just runner-up, and she'll go down in history with that same title. Is the official original paper containing the results which was shown on the shown isn't enough? Pia deserves the crown and all the apology coz she was robbed of her glorious and perfect coronation moment. She does not deserve your criticisms and bashing. She was the biggest victim here, can't you see that? PIA DESERVES BETTER!
I agree! If anything, they should give this moment back to Pia!! Hindi man lang sya nakapag first walk with wave and all with the crown on her head!!! Kudos to Pia tho for being all smiles pa rin kahit na she thought she is just the 1st runner up!!! Woohoo!!

I didn't even want her in top 3. Either France or Australia but not her. I disliked her jaw and eyes for some reason. She looked hard and mean for me. And, I guess she really is, from what she had posted online and how she reacted when she had to give the crown to the rightful winner.

yes I saw that video bakit ganoon? I get it na she was embarrassed by the situation but that was Pia's moment and napunta lahat kay Miss Colombia ang attention. And for the other contestants to keep shouting Miss Columbia Miss Columbia while Pia is right there show lack of respect on their part. Nakakaawa si Pia at that moment.

Have to agree with you Anon2:06 AM. The crying was ok, it was a natural reaction. But from simple crying to major ngalngal? That was plain attention-hogging! Sorry pero kung baliktad ang nangyari, Pia would have cried for a few seconds, wiped her tears off, stood straight, smiled and hugged Colombia. Tapos step aside na yan para makoronahan at makalakad ng maayos ang new Miss Universe. Pagdating ng backstage saka yun iiyak galore.

I still CANNOT UNDERSTAND how he misread that card. The top winner was clearly labelled and listed separately from the other runner-ups… For a middle aged man like Steve Harvey who hosts a talk show, reading the words on a card SHOULD NOT BE that difficult.

Ang nakakalungkot lang if you notice the coronation pictures most of the girls back was turned yo the camera. Only a handful celebrated for Pia. Miss Germany also said all of the contestants voted for Colombia.
dahil ayukong maging nega, nasa atin ang corona. kaya congrats sa contestant siempre hindi rin naman biro yun pinag daanan nila. at kahit naman sinu contestants gustong makuha ang titulo. that's why I congratulate them instead of talking bs. againts them. dapat nga tumahimik nalang tao at intindihin yung side ng miss colombia na napahiya din naman siya the universe. One of the judges said Miss Columbia is the most beautiful aming the ladies, but she was not the total package to be Zmiss Universe. The judges all voted for Pia.
Am I the only one who noticed the difference with the reaction of the other candidates when Miss Columbia was announced as the winner and when it was corrected and Miss Philippines was called after?

What Harvey did was give the Philippines' detractors a reason to doubt Pia's win. He might have apologized, but the damage was already done. Now, Colombians are harassing Pia on Instagram to give their candidate the crown, and conspiracy theorists are saying that Ms Universe just switched winners after the fact. :/ Yes, it was a "human mistake," but that is why you rehearse before a major event. Guess what -- Harvey skipped the dress rehearsal. I'm not even a beauty pageant fan -- I just watched the show, because my sister was watching it -- but it was very, very obvious that she stood out that night and won that crown. It's extremely unfair that she has to deal with all this bullshit.
PS: To everyone here feeling sorry for Ms. Colombia, check out the screenshot going around on Facebook. She and the Ms. Colombia organizer have been antagonizing Pia since the preliminaries.
If you listen to Perez Hilton (one of the judges) TELL IT ALL INTERVIEW, he said that he thinks the sirprise ending was pulled off by MISS U so that this will be talked about. If it was not nakalimutan na ang Miss U 2015 the following day as what previously happens. He said the choice for Miss Philippines as Miss U was unanimous.
True 1:16! Feeling ko Mean Girls mode yung Colombia and her gang eh. Yung tipo bang mga feeling 'kami-ang-top-15'. And they didn't like Pia kasi she was a very strong contender na hindi nila 'kabarkada'.

ReplyDeleteHay, naku. Nakaka-iyak. I'm so proud of Pia Wurtzbach. For me, it was kind of bittersweet because the whole unfortunate incident (mistake of the host) denied Pia her moment to walk across the stage as the newly crowned 2015 Ms. Universe. I mean, yeah the host announced the correction and the crown was transferred, but the program was cut right after that. She didn't have the stage to herself w/ the whole regalia and took her first walk as "The" winner, all because the pageant organizers and the network had to save their faces. But that's that. Pia IS the winner. Ganon na talaga siguro yun. Pia was the epitome of grace, class and beauty the whole entire time. God bless her.

DeletePia won it fair and square. She nailed the preliminary and both Q&A's. Based on the Top 3 Q&A.. Philippines is 1st, USA 2nd and Colombia 3rd. Colombia's answer focused on herself and her attributes as a Latin woman only. USA gave a general answer on how she could use her title to influence people. Pia gave the most specific, timely and relevant answer! Confidently beautiful with a heart! Pakkk! Bravo! Beauty and brains indeed!

Announcing her and putting the crown on her head was just a big mistake, she really never had the title of Miss Universe nor was she dethroned, nor robbed. She's just runner-up, and she'll go down in history with that same title. Is the official original paper containing the results which was shown on the shown isn't enough? Pia deserves the crown and all the apology coz she was robbed of her glorious and perfect coronation moment. She does not deserve your criticisms and bashing. She was the biggest victim here, can't you see that? PIA DESERVES BETTER!

ReplyDeleteKung ako kay Ms. Colombia, ako mismo maglilipat ng crown kay Pia. Graceful exit diba? Then sa back stage ako ngangalngal (hindi sa stage). Why? Kasi alam ko na lalong magwawala mga kababayan ko. Iwas gulo ba. I still feel for Ms. Colombia. Yes, nakakahiya pero redeeming factor na sana kung pano niya (Ms.colombia) ihahandle yung situation. Ang childish lang nung ginawa niyang pag-iyak nang todo sa stage. Parang batang inagawan ng lollipop. She can do that backstage. Si Pia naman tinanggap nang maayos ung first runner up siya. Nakalimutan ang GRACE under pressure. Kung kay Pia nangyari yan, im sure she would have handled it better. After all, she is confidently beautiful with THE heart.

Have to agree with you Anon2:06 AM. The crying was ok, it was a natural reaction. But from simple crying to major ngalngal? That was plain attention-hogging! Sorry pero kung baliktad ang nangyari, Pia would have cried for a few seconds, wiped her tears off, stood straight, smiled and hugged Colombia. Tapos step aside na yan para makoronahan at makalakad ng maayos ang new Miss Universe. Pagdating ng backstage saka yun iiyak galore.

DeleteI still CANNOT UNDERSTAND how he misread that card. The top winner was clearly labelled and listed separately from the other runner-ups… For a middle aged man like Steve Harvey who hosts a talk show, reading the words on a card SHOULD NOT BE that difficult.

ReplyDeleteAng nakakalungkot lang if you notice the coronation pictures most of the girls back was turned yo the camera. Only a handful celebrated for Pia. Miss Germany also said all of the contestants voted for Colombia.

ReplyDeleteWhat Harvey did was give the Philippines' detractors a reason to doubt Pia's win. He might have apologized, but the damage was already done. Now, Colombians are harassing Pia on Instagram to give their candidate the crown, and conspiracy theorists are saying that Ms Universe just switched winners after the fact. :/ Yes, it was a "human mistake," but that is why you rehearse before a major event. Guess what -- Harvey skipped the dress rehearsal. I'm not even a beauty pageant fan -- I just watched the show, because my sister was watching it -- but it was very, very obvious that she stood out that night and won that crown. It's extremely unfair that she has to deal with all this bullshit.

If you listen to Perez Hilton (one of the judges) TELL IT ALL INTERVIEW, he said that he thinks the sirprise ending was pulled off by MISS U so that this will be talked about. If it was not nakalimutan na ang Miss U 2015 the following day as what previously happens. He said the choice for Miss Philippines as Miss U was unanimous.
