ReplyDeleteTito Sen nor Joey did not show any disrespect to the dress. Holloween costumes nowadays are not like before where you have to wear a 'tyanak' or 'manananggal' costume. In other words, its not to scare people anymore but to dress up to a a different character. That is why you can see people wearing Yaya Dub, Matrix, Superman, Hulk, etc costumes where in fact its not at all scary. Come on people! There are nuns and priest costumes but how come no one opposed to it? People who wears sexy bunny or sexy super heroes? Its an issult also to some women that they show lots of skin. *sigh*

ReplyDeleteIn the noble Qur'an, it was never specified that a kandora or a tob is the official dress code of Islam. There were guidelines to adhere to but never an official set of clothes. So those that get offended, at this are those who are indeed ingorant, and want to pick a fight for attention. It was also said by the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) that "If you have nothing good to say, remain silent". We could do well enough to have a RESPECTFUL discussion, but sadly, our Muslim brothers and sisters are cursing, and spouting obscenities all over the place. I am writing this to inform our Christian brothers and sisters that not all Muslims are ignorant of morals, ethics and breedings.

ReplyDeletePano kung bata ang nagsupt ng ganyan? Yan din ba ang sasabihin nio? I doubt. Stop the hate people. Sinuot lang nila for Halloween. Hindi nya binastos ang damit, ang mga taong gumagamit nito, ang ang paniniwala ng mga muslims.
ReplyDeleteMr. Hataman, the dress is not the image of the Muslims, a dress is just a dress wore by Muslim people. ang damit na ito rin ang ginagamit ng mga berdugo kapag sila ay nag execute ng justice kaya di ito ang dapat sabihing image ng Muslims dahil hindi magandang gawing halimbawa na meron bahid ng dugo. it is where in Makkah Saudi Arabia ang tunay na simbolo ng Muslims.

The thobe depicts decency and modesty as well that's why most Muslim men Wear this as an everyday garment outside. The senator and Mr. Joey de Leon, while wearing the thobe even if its just for a Costume party, did not make any gestures that Will be viewed in opposite of these. Did you see them dance a sexy song with a girl while wearing this during the show? Did they utter a sitele word of insult directly towards Muslims or Islam? Why dOnt search on youtube and see some Muslim men wearing thobe happily harassing and touching Muslim who are fully covered? WELL, THAT IS

Some were ranting online saying that thobe was used in a halloween event so it already depicts Arabs are scary. With all due respect to my Muslim brothers and sisters, in my own honest opinion as a Muslim, the thobe is just a dress not the entirety of Islam ALLAHLU ALAM (Allah knows best) so who are you to judge someone based on what you just saw without knowing his or her intentions? Who are you to assume and accuse that they are our disrespecting our religön in first place? it's (the thobe) not even written in Qur'an? You demand an apology from them for just wearing something that the Qur'an did not even acknowledge literally as holy? how many Muslim 'men around the world wear the thobe but DOES NOT ACT LIKE A TRUE MUSLIM? Mufti Menk said in one of his lectures, aside from dressing up modestly, lowering your gaze is part of a Muslim man's dress code.
ISLAM IS NOT JUST BEING DEFINED BASED ON WHAT MUSLIMS WEAR. YOU DONT DEFINE YOURSELF AS A MUSLM JUST BECAUSE you ARE WEARING A THOBE. ISLAM IS A WAY OF LIFE — THE FULL SUBMISSION OF ONE'S SELF TO ALLAH. It's your intentions and actiöns that you will be held accountable for on the Day of Judgment and not for who wears or not the thobe. I do not see any Significant reason to make this issue a very big deal and not afraid to bashed by my fellow muslims because Of my stance on this. Why not focus and pray instead for the Ummah Of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) that we may all be continuously guided to the right way towards Jannah (paradise)? As a Muslim, the only thing that I regard as the most sacred Islam is the QUR'AN. "

My husband is an arab muslim and he's not offended by this..he wear this everyday to work..traditional clothing yan ng arabs here in uae..ang holy clothing nila ay yong sinusuot nila pag nasa mecca sila.

ReplyDeletenapakasensitive ng mga nagreact dito. pero when you think about it, sensitive talaga ang Muslims lalo na stereotyped na talaga sila. so I think magsorry na lang sila and wag na ulet gawin kasi lalo ngayon na naging issue sya, we wouldn't want to deal with any Muslim extremists in the future. we could be an easy target lalo na we are known to be a Christian country.

Ang Dishdasha ay isang Arab dress na sinusuot sa Middle East at pati na rin in some parts of Africa. Hindi lamang ito sinusuot ng mga Muslims at kahit Arab Christians nagsusuot din nito. Hindi rin ito religious outfit na sagrado at ito ay pangkaraniwang sinusuot ng mga Arabo. Sinuot ito ni Tito at Joey pero kung nanuod kayo walang pambabastos silang ginawa labas sa Islam, muslims o sa Arab culture na sinabi or ginawa. Sa film, actors wears it too. Do everyone has to apologize?! Uuuuy wala naman silang ginawang masama during the time they were wearing it uyyyyy! Grabe naman kayo! Husga pa more!!!! Noong Friday nga ng nagsimba ako sa Quiapo, Nag invite pa ang Pari na mag participate ang mga bata sa isang parade (Ala Trick or Treat) ng naka costume ng ANGELS o kaya mga SAINTS OF THE CHURCH. Sa tingin nyo ba eh inorganize ng parish iyon para ma Stereotype ang mga Catholics. Sosmiyo….Ewan!

Sige nga, matagal na nila ginagawa? Well di kami nanonood ng GMA dati so ngayon lang napansin. And now that we know, should we condone it? Papabayaan na lang? Okay lang kung kapitbahay namin. ReplyDeleteItigil na kaseh yang halloween na yan...gastos lang..sa pasko na kayo mag costume at least masaya..mag tirik kayo nang kandila sa mahal na namayapa na..that is how should we remember them hindi yang..mga ganyan..when I was small kid in the province masaya na kami namumulot nang upos na kandila at binibenta...sabagay sa hirap nang buhay para na rin kaming naka costume dahil punit punit ang damit...

ReplyDeleteHindi lang ito dahil sa pulitika dahil maraming Muslim ang nabastos dahil dito. Yang kasuotan na yan na para sa inyo ay hindi big deal, para sa amin ay big deal! Damit yan pansamba! Sinusuot yan ng mga Muslim with pride tapos gagamitin pang costume sa isang satanic event?! Palibhasa kasi ok lang sa inyo na magsuot ng mga priest or nun costumes. No big deal. Pero samin iba. Tandaan nyo may iba iba tayong pananaw pagdating sa relihiyon. Sana man lang inisip ng senador na yan na maaari syang makasakit ng mga muslim sa paggamit nyan bilang costume.

Tapos I saw sa IG na some wore/copied the attire of The Rock and Miley Cyrus and they even posted it na parang natutuwa sila at sila ang peg. Nakakaloka pa nga iyong kay The Rock kasi parang #throwbackthursday lang na medyo mataba pa sya at hindi ma muscle. Natatawa pa sya.
