His wish did finally come true, na makapag indie movie. I think with everything he has achieved, siguro mas madali ng mag venture sa mga movies na hindi box office ang chinechase. Malay natin si JLC pala ang what indie movie industry sa Philippines needed. After all, JLC is probably the most revered amongst his generation.
According to the Esquire Philippines cover story to celebrate the commercial release of On The Job back in July or August 2013, Direk Erik Matti mentiones that he was eyeing John Lloyd Cruz in the lead role of his next film inspired by the current pyramiding/networking schemes that are so rampant today. There was no mention of Dingdong Dantes in that article. And, Star Cinema will bankroll the project along with Reality Entertainment. So eto na yun, at hindi inagaw ni JLC kay DD ang role. Try to read that article para malaman nyo.
John lloyd is undeniably the best actor of his generation. Ang mga indie film hindi lang basta makagawa ng pelikula ok na ipalabas na, madalas mas may sense at story pa siya than movies na malaki budget, hindi box office hit usapan dito pero yun makapag produce ng may mas sense at depth na movie na kulang na kulang ngayon sa Phil cinema. For sure as always JLC will give justice to his role.
