    3. My mom was an ex private school teacher and there had been times she came home stressed out because of pushy parents who will stop at nothing unless their precious darlings are on top of the class. Bribes, threat you name it, some parents feel they can manipulate the teachers to get what they want hence their children feel entitled. Kristel was wrong to name and shame her school during her graduation speech, it's so selfish and disrespectful not only to her teachers but to her fellow graduates. She didn't even give any proof yet she already raised doubt against the school.

What she did just cost her her future.

    7. So? That doesnt make her a lesser i.q. Board exam ang labanan. Why dont u compare the board exam results ng ust vs up.

IBANG-IBA kapag nasa work ka na, YUN ANG SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST! Ako naaalala ko nung Elem. at Highschool days ko masaya! Sakto lang, di masyado dinidibdib ang school pero di rin naman din pinababayaan ang mga grades, ung tama lang, as long as di palakol ang grades eh ok na ko dun! Hehe! Kaya students out there, relax lang! Chill! Meaning, study hard but not to the point na masstress kau o maloka kayo sa kaaaral o may makaaway na kayo sa school dahil "dibdiban" na pag-aaral niyo... Learn to balance things. Ang totoong labanan ay pagdating na sa work/corporate world! Yan ang matindi! Kelangan kumayod talaga!

  14. She should just prove them wrong in the next academic challenge. Siguro may scholarship kang gustong kunin, kaya siguro importante sayo. I understand how she feels but she should have given the school.the benefit of the doubt until proven guilty. Hahay. Bawi ka nalang rin kasi.ineng sa kolehiyo, strive to be a summa cumlaude

  20. Tama ang school. Ang speech ay nagaakusa, hindi nagwewelcome. This should be brought in the proper forum lalo na kung baseless pa ang accusation. May freedom of speech nga pero there is a sense of responsibility that comes with it.

  25. Eto na nga ba ang sinasabi ko. Bago tayo mag comment or mag judge, we have to hear both sides of the story muna. Although hindi natin talaga malalaman kung sino ang nag sasabi ng totoo or hindi, the fact remains na may right ang school na patigilin yung student sa speech nya. And the ground/reasons? It was not a welcome remark/speech, second - nag deviate sya na orginal speech that she submitted and third - paninira ng kapwa ang kalalabasan nun (kahit pa totoo yung allegation sa Valedictorian). Whether maganda or masama ang content ng speech mo.

This is not about how the school violated her freedom of speech. We have to remember na all rights are not absolute, it can be limited or regulated depending on how you exercise such rights. We have to be responsible pa rin kahit pa may pinaglalaban pa rin tayo. :)

      Delete
    4. ADMU Class of 2012, Batch 2008 alumni here. I would just like to raise one key point of clarification for the enlightenment of all. First, it is a fact all of us can agree upon and concede that Ateneo de Manila does not offer a lot of courses which require the graduates to take board exams to validate competency. However, of the courses it offers though that have board exams, ADMU always ranks among the top performing schools. The Law school is not the only unit that requires graduates to take a standardized, eligibility-conferring exam. Graduates of the Chemistry, biology, education, physics programs among others have consistently topped the board exams and passing rate for ADMU educated board exam takers are statistically higher and often yield 100% rate. The medical school of the university whose first set of graduates took the medical board exam some 4 years ago registered a 98% passing rate and succeeding batches have upheld such similar records. Considering the fact that this is a fledgling program, this is quite a feat for any university to achieve. Being able to produce an almost 100% passing rate right from the very pioneer batch and maintaining this statistic continuously (thus far, 4 years) is not a laughing matter. How many of other medical schools with much longer histories have been able to produce such high passing figures in these exams? And this is the beginning because the program itself if far from perfect. Also, if the medical school has achieved this much in just this much time, imagine, just imagine what it could become with the passage of time and the adoption of a more global public health curriculum?

This girl doesn't deserve even the salutatorian award. Obviously, you want sympathy because you didn't get what you want. When I watched your interview with Rhea Santos in UH, it was clear that you were disoriented. You now focus on the instance that you were cut short by the emcee which was not that real issue you were "fighting" for at the onset. Move on girl. You are just proving to us that you really don't deserve the valedictorian award.

Move on na sana sya at ang pamilya nya..

  49. What that girl probably dodnt consider is the fact that she'll be entering college at a catholic school. First, how will she get her good moral certificate? Second, what will her next school think of her? It's possible that she wouldnt get accepted pa because of the 'scandal'. True if there's something wrong with the high school's system, it should be addressed. But then there are proper ways for that. If it doesnt turn out well with the principal, then why not go to DepEd? Why embarrass the others and create an awkward welcome for the rest? Just a thought.
