Not a fan of this Jake guy but he echoes my sentiment.
What the president doesn't realize is that the more he brings up his parents, the more we see that he and his sister are not able to measure up to their public image (Cory as saint and Ninoy as hero).
It's annoying to be constantly reminded that he is president only because he is the son of people we respect (and we're slowly losing that too because of how their "legacies" are screwing up now). And he has to constantly remind us of this himself.
PNoy should realize that the respect doesn't transfer to him by mere mention of this parents. In fact, it only encourages the comparison - one that he will fail utterly, without any doubt.

ReplyDeleteYeah, it annoys me to death every time I hear Noynoy talk about his parents. What annoys me more though is reading the above post from a convicted plunderer's son. Jake, do realize that at least Noynoy's parents' legacy is something one can really be proud of, so even if I hear Noynoy talk about his parents once, twice, or even if it is something that will already be constant in his future speeches, I'd still be more than willing to hear them than than to listen to a prick saying his dad's name. Nakakasuka kayo.

ReplyDeleteWhat the president doesn't realize is that the more he brings up his parents, the more we see that he and his sister are not able to measure up to their public image (Cory as saint and Ninoy as hero).
It's annoying to be constantly reminded that he is president only because he is the son of people we respect (and we're slowly losing that too because of how their "legacies" are screwing up now). And he has to constantly remind us of this himself.
PNoy should realize that the respect doesn't transfer to him by mere mention of this parents. In fact, it only encourages the comparison - one that he will fail utterly, without any doubt.
2.22 you have a narrow minded view if you see it that way. PNoy probably wants to mention his parents because he wants to highlight the fact that their family has a lot of respect and love for our country and countrymen that they are willing to suffer and sacrifice their lives so we can live in peace and democracy. That he didn't intentionally disrespect the fallen soldiers. Granted Pnoy made an error of judgement but who doesn't? it's not like he went clubbing instead of going to the SAF arrival, he had a reasonable excuse why he couldn't be there. Jake, Jericka and all you critics are looking for a scapegoat and Pnoy just happens to be the easiest target.

DeleteActually, totoo naman kasi. The Aquino siblings are always using their parents' name sa mga issues lalo na sa political issues. Parang they wanted to remind the filipinos how great their parents were para malimutan yung issues na binabato sakanila. Like right now, about sa fallen 44 dami nagalit sakanila even other celebs kaya dami nagbabash sakanila, tapos yung nag babash yun na yung masama. Kasi diba tama naman, grabe si kris maging honest pero pag sila sinabihan ng di maganda e ganyan sila tapos ipapaalala mga nagawa ng magulang nila.
