It seems like she's questioning the integrity of the show. The commenter is right, she should think of the Lyca's feelings and abstain from comments like this. True or not, may isang batang masasaktan ang feelings. I guess she was not sincere when she congratulated Lyca.

I am a lea salonga die hard fan but i have to admit lately i find her crass. Para sa akin, Darren does not need that title anymore because he can prosper on his own dahil sa world-class talent at professional attitude nya, at dahil na din sa lumalaki at tumitibay pa nyang fanbase. You know what, these singing shows should not feature the contestants' life stories. It deviates from what the show aims to showcase. Featuring the contestants' sad life stories sometimes takes away the dream of a more deserving person.
I don't see the problem here. Almost all singing competitions abroad (American Idol, The Voice, etc.) do the same thing. Were their decisions for charity as well?
At the end of the day, there's more meaning and depth to a performance when you know the reason for their passion.
Kung ang mga tao ay boboto dahil nakakaawa, it's not the fault of the contestant or the show.

So kung hindi 'popular opinion' ang bitawan, crass na, taklesa na, papansin na, hindi na nagiisip. It's her personal opinion, let her be. ReplyDeletePara sa akin, Darren does not need that title anymore because he can prosper on his own dahil sa world-class talent at professional attitude nya, at dahil na din sa lumalaki at tumitibay pa nyang fanbase. Although, if he DID win that title, it would be greatly helpful din sana in terms of his home network's support pagdating sa promotions at TV projects.

May ganda rin ang boses ni Lyca but there's still a lot of work that needs to be done and she seems a bit challenged these days, sayang. Hopefully, somebody is guiding her para mag improve siya. Hindi madali talaga for her as obviously a lot of people think she got the title at the expense of the really deserving kid.

After all, she herself has said in her Backstory article at the Philippine Daily Inquirer entitled "We have our winner," Lyca's victory was well-deserved.

ReplyDeleteLea you are 1 of the representatives of the show...move on na...gatong ka pa sa mg darren fans na di makapagmove on...ang gawin mo tulungan mo nalang kaya si Lyca hasain ang galing nya ng makatulong ka naman sa bata...ibang klase ka rin eh...yung The Voice US season 7 winner na si Craig Boyd di naman din pinakamagaling pero dahil underdog nanalo sya, pero full support ang lahat ng coaches sa kanya...anubayan The Voice Philippines nakakahiya naman ang coach pa ang walang tiwala sa sistema ng voting....tsk tsk what a shame...
ReplyDeleteWow, now that's so irresponsible, not to mention a very insensitive comment. If she was a regular viewer nothing wrong with expressing her opinion, no one will really care, but she is a judge of that show. She should know better.

For someone who have seen how this kids strive for their dreams, you should believe in them equally. No matter who is better or who win. You are one of their mentor after all, those kids look up to you. Don't you think, Lyca's feeling won't get hurt.

DeleteOk, so Lea's entitled to her opinion. We get it. Pero most of her recent statements verge on hypocrisy talaga. Sasabihin niya na mas deserving si Darren kesa kay Lyca kasi mas magaling. Pero diba ganun din naman ang nangyari kay Klarisse last year? And did you hear anything negative from Sarah? Please lang, Tita Lea.
