Maybe she has really gone through a lot, but a mother will not exploit an occasion such as the birthday of his son to do something like this --- something that can potentially upset her son on a supposedly happy occasion. You should promise Benjie that if he tells you and their reason was good enough, that you would leave them alone until they are ready for you. You should also realize that the kids are getting bashed because of you and the things that you say, so you should stop.
