Kobe Paras, a 6-foot-6 junior from L.A. Cathedral who moved here from the Philippines and is scheduled to make his high school debut next month, has picked up a scholarship offer from UCLA.

He has been known for his dunks, but he's also an outstanding shooter.

He earlier had picked up scholarship offers from Arizona State and Fresno State, among others.

"Kobe was very excited," Coach William Middlebrooks said.

    7. 12:19 Si Kobe Paras ay ang bunsong anak ni Benjie Paras (former PBA player/actor) and Jackie Forster (former actress). He won inthe 3x3 Slamdunk Competition in FIBA and led the Gilas Pilipinas Under-18. And UCLA is University of California Los Angeles. Abdul Jabar, Reggie Miller and Kevin Love were some of their alumni. Sayang net mo kung di ka marunong magresearch minsan di puro chismisan.

  18. Good universities to study in, but their basketball programs (if you want to get into the NBA) aren't that great. Hindi top ranked ang basketball teams nila sa US NCAA. Kaya he has to wait and choose carefully. But then again, baka getting a good college education naman ang target nya so he can choose any of those schools

  19. Wow grabe! Malaki chance niya makapag nba kasi bata pa lang napapansin na talaga siya! Nakakaloka! Go kobe!

  20. Choose UCLA & Do well in UCLA Kobe and make it to the NBA! If that happens, it will probably be the first time the son of a PBA star or a pinoy lad (correct me if I am wrong) would have penetrated the world's top pro basketball league. Good luck! For sure your dad is overjoyed.
