The public reception to EC was so overwhelming that PH thought of bringing it to a higher level. He joked and teased the public, announcing on the show what if they do a celebrity edition of EC. He asked the public to tweet who their possible candidates are.
PH's announcement created excitement and fun on social media. Netizens had a field day tweeting names of male stars who can best represent the peg of EC.
Along with 2 hunky gays and singer gay, one of the names most tweeted was Actor in Denial AD. AD was so annoyed that the tweeting community/people were relentlessly tagging him for the contest. He was pissed and began blocking them one after another.
AD felt so harassed and bullied that during the taping break of his soap, he didn’t take his break just so he could finish blocking all those who kept mentioning his name. Due to a great number of 'bullies,' AD reportedly lasted till the wee hours of the morning just blocking them. When his director was looking for him, AD reasoned out that he was having a stomach ache.
Truth be told, this is just one of the painful difficulties of not coming out: to be repeatedly subjected to cruel jokes for the fun and entertainment of other people.
Certainly the fun is lost when you are hiding inside that dark closet.

DeleteI think people just need to respect someone's decision not to come out yet or not to come out at all. We have to understand, that is not an easy ordeal. If that person is not doing anything bad, if that person is an inspiration, why care much about his sexuality? There is nothing wrong with being gay. Denying who you really are is not easy. But sometimes, it's the only choice you have considering your family and the very judgmental world you live in.
ReplyDeleteI agree. The journey out of the closet may seem simple for some, but it's always going to be a personal one. It should never be dictated or imposed by anyone. It's sad that there are a lot of people out there, some gays included, who can't seem to respect the journey that other gay men and women take and take it upon themselves to out them. It's like a witchhunt wherein people feel entitled to the right to hunt every single one of them down. This pushes people further into the closet. A lot of people justify this by saying that they do it because gay people need to be represented more. I think people need to realize that no one deserves to be arm-twisted into representing a certain set of principles.

DeleteI agree 2:28 AM. People should not forget that most of the peppermints in showbiz inspired many people in ways. One of them gave scholarships and continues to become active in charity work. I always feel the sincerity of this man, I never thought about the bashing and hating he's getting from many people just because of his sexual preference. The other one meanwhile was recently recognized abroad for his outstanding role in the music industry while the other projects a positive image for the youth. I find it ridiculous if haters/bashers are pulling them down just because they're gays. Let's not give a sh*t about their personal lives and their choice not to come out yet. Instead, let's support them in their continuing endeavors.

ReplyDeletesuch a hypocritical world we live in. nagagalit tayo kapag mag nagpakamatay dahil sa bully. naiiyak tayo kapag may nasaktan dahil sa bully. pero base sa comments, intresado ang lahat kung sino ang tinutukoy sa blind item na ito. di ba dapat, gabayan ang mga taong patuloy na nambu-bully whether sa social media, tv o sa personal man. nakakalungkot pero kailan tayo mamumuhay na may paggalang sa kapwa natin? sana naman ma-post ang comment kong ito. salamat.
